Because he just lied to him a few seconds before? Even when Fujitora was asking him, he was thinking on whether he should lie or tell the truth. Without the inner monologue, we wouldn't have even known if what he told Fujitora was legit, and even that truth if it is was all about another goal. Just look at how many people presume Law could be the one that may have saved Doflamingo. I think there is definitely some sort of respect Law has for Luffy. He saved his life, arguably twice if you think of the Punk Hazard session when they were going to get taken out by Smiles. He's also saved Sanji, and then saved Nami, Brook & Chopper. No character in OP so far has saved the SH's lived as many times as Law has. So they may not be bffs but that has to mean something so far.
exactly,he was searching for a reason to lie or tell the truth.
you are saying that he lied to doflamingo without a reason,just to make your initial theory more plausible.Law had no reason to lie at that exact moment and about that exact topic,therefore he was telling the truth.
@TheGreatestSwordsman:
Law should have brought someone, one of the top 3 guys with him. Even if he wanted to fight him 1v1, if he lost, there's still someone there to help take the advantage. Ussop and Robin were some infiltrator team, and they just ran their asses off the second shit hit the fan. Look he may have wanted a 1v1 with Doflamingo, but not at the state he was in after his 3 way. Anyone who believes this, is delusional. That was to take Caesar away and save the SHs as he did. DD's crew is all over the country (or city), which is massive in itself. It was either really dumb plan from Law to do that, some type of arrogance/honor that he himself has to beat him himself (sounds really dumb for a smart character), and something else we don't know.
what is a better plan,bring with you luffy and zoro,with the possibility that you simple fail both objectives because you devided your "troops",or focus on destroying the factory so that kaido will kill doflamingo even if you fail to kill him yourself?
and you still are ignoring the fact that the initial plan,the one they all had in mind when they separate,was to AVOID direct confrontation with doflamingo and focus on the factory..in the initial plan all Law had to do was keeping him busy ,by baiting him on green bit with caesar,where he knew the marines were also going,because he told smoker where they were going.Than the plan went downhill when it was discovered that dofla had not left the shichibukai.Basically for law it was a kind of fail-proof plan..either an admiral takes care or doflamingo,or Law himself,or,if law fails,Kaido kills him after the factory is destroyed.
the only important thing is that doiflamingo DIES
