I don't feel like killing one person or friend who isn't the ultimate goal in order to obtain power is really unique to either Blackbeard of Macbeth. Feel like it's more of a timeless story telling trope
Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2

I would agree with you if Blackbeard had nothing to do with fate and he simply killed his friend for power, but Blackbeard is associated with fate. He is also associated with ambition, as I already stated. Macbeth is associated with fate. Macbeth is also associated especially with ambition. Type ambition on your search bar and tell that Macbeth doesn't show up on top.
Fate an ambition together aren't that uncommon either, and I don't really even see fate playing a strong part in BB's character, or One Piece in general for that matter. The thematic point of Blackbeard as a character is that he embodies the dark side of our Hero's ideals, not stuff like fate or ambition, at least not in the sense you're talking about. Blackbeard and fate are really only connected by a throwaway line. It's not like there's any prophecy involving him or anything. The idea of a villain who believe's it is their fate/destiny to be in power is incredibly common

Because you really have only one line where he mentions it at all and it's never been emphasized in any way

In retrospect the whole idea was stupid; Blackbeard being homage to Macbeth, that is. My god, I feel like a cultist whose indoctrinated himself into his own religion.

Killer and Bastille are from the same island. The masks are ceremonial and awarded when a child reaches manhood. Each tribe has a different style of mask, the number of holes in the mask show the individual's standing within the tribe.
The KHA alliance will appear and assist the swirlyhat pirates to destroy BM's ship off the coast of Dressrosa. This will lead into a SHHKHA alliance fighting against Kaido and his zoan army.
-
Yeah, Rob. I've always thought that Bastille and Killer were related in some way. There mask aren't identical but share something. And, honestly, the alliance thing would be amazing. It would allow Kaidou's defeat to be a lot more realistic.
-
Robin and Usopp will be enough to take down Sugar with wits but I think Trebol might beat up at least Usopp. I imagine Sanji coming back with Chopper, Momo, Brooke, Caesar and Nami kidnapped. So we get a Sanji vs Trebol, Zoro vs Pica and Luffy vs Doflamingo.
This would give Big Mom the ability to replicate the Yomi Yomi no Mi, Artificial Dragon Zoan, Hito Hito no Mi and have a direct target on herself for the Strawhats after this arc.
-
Sabo will lose to burgees, the blackbeard pirates will hold sabo captive,
They do an exchange with the marines, for something we don't know yet.
During this exchange, which is done in the new marineford, the whitebeard pirates arrive, knowing full well what sabo means to ace.
They are backed with the previous pirates from the previous war. As the war goes on we see luffy and his alliance which by now has extended to law kidd hawkins and even scratchman apoo join the battle to save sabo.
The blackbeard pirates and the marines do a temporary alliance,
But then dragon and his revolutionaries arrive,
Fujitora dies by attempting to break the alliance and assassination on blackbeard by the hands of Akainu!!!
Kaidou uses this opportunity to attack the marines and arrives on the scene, but they are on no ones side.
Shanks finally arrive and plan to stop kaidou
Kaidou wants revenge on shanks for what happened during the whitsbeard saga.At the end of this war, big mum arrives and claims to have found One Piece!

Robin and Usopp will be enough to take down Sugar with wits but I think Trebol might beat up at least Usopp.
Well, there is a pattern,he got beaten up in all of the main fights Usopp had before the timeskip, except one= Perona.
By 'main fights Usopp had' I mean he actually was fully part of as either one on one or two man team, so not including events of full crew (thriller bark and Skypeia being some) or him sniping Spandam (not really a fight)Chew worked him over before being defeated.
When fighting on Little Garden he got beaten up by M5 & Ms valentine. (While he didn't defeat them, he did save Zoro, Nami & Vivi from Mr.3's trap that was killing them … something Luffy failed to do due to Ms Goldenweek's interference after he was beaten up )
Mr.4 & Ms Merry Christmas both got hits in on Usopp= Ms. Merry Xmas slashed him with her claws, Mr 4 hit him with a 4 ton bat.
As such, and how strong Trébol is, I wouldn't be surprised if Usopp gets roughed up before his team wins
-
I imagine Sanji coming back with Chopper, Momo, Brooke, Caesar and Nami kidnapped.
The wrong thing with this idea is that they will be putting Caesar in danger and I don't think Oda will just throw Nami's speech to the trash just to make some fans happy about Sanji and Viola's business and I don't think Viola will get a bounty on her head either but I don't discarded it since she has been working for Doflamingo for 10 years now.
-
I think Sanji will leave the rest on Zou with law's crew and then run back to Dressrosa on his own.
-

Fighting fighting fighting. That's all you youngsters can think about. Forget about continuous fights for some time and let's focus on the adventurous part of the story instead. Exploring an unknown island, trying to cope with the New World's calamities and so on. That is what OP is about.

Maybe dumb theories, sorry for my english
In the past, Old dwarfs protected Dressrosa
-Bellamy is losing everything because he met Luffy at Mock town. He will join BB and he will fight Barto- Diamante lost his fight against Kyros, that is why the statue of Kyros is still there
- In the past, Vergo lost his sister because Doffy and him were poor
- The relation are strong between dwarf and Riku family. Viola will decide to quit the governement and join Dragon
- Because Dressrosa is an old country . Kings and Kings of goa will be afraid and decide to abolish the the institution of “Royal Shichibukai and maybe they will give more power for Akainu.
Well, i know theses theories are not Oda style but why not?:ninja:
-
I was thinking of what would the straw hats bounty be after the ts when they got a raise. So this is what I thought.
Luffy - 500m minium
Zoro - 300m hes at minimum larger threat than ps luffy.
Sanji - 250m same reason as above
Robin - 100-150m she knows more now met with dragon and has utilized her fruit better
Franky - 80-100m Has pacifista technology in him
Brook - 50-70m has some op things
Nami - 40-50m stronger now
Ussop - 40-50 m same as above
Chopper - 50-60m if they find out who he really is.

That is the World Govenrment's power, not a little kingdom like Goa in East Blue. The World Government is found in the 'Holy City' of Mariejois which is on top of the Red Line.

Hey guys, I'm sure this has been debated before, but if so I missed it and I would really like to hear your opinion on this topic. It's a theory by Youtuber FireFistShanks1 regarding the SMILES and Doflamingo.
He starts by taking a look at chapter 685, in which we can see Momonosuke being under some kind of stress due to his fear of Doflamingo. We see Joker's distorted face and Momonosuke's curly eyes as a result. FireFistShanks1 takes a tiny leap of faith and claims that this indicates that Doflamingo is able to somehow control the minds of people who ate one of the artificially created devil fruits. According to him, that's why Joker is trying so hard to supply Kaidou with SMILES and to protect the factory: He wants to overthrow Kaidou by turning his 500 zoans against him, similarly to what happened with "Order 66" in Star Wars Episode 3. He wants to take over his spot as a Yonkou. And here is where his connection to the world nobles comes into play. According to the theory, the world government itself sent Doflamingo on the mission to overthrow a Yonkou and take his seat, so that the Marines and the Gorosei can start spreading their power and influence in the New World through Doflamingo as an allied middleman. As we all know, so far the Marine's influence barely reaches the New World. This part of the ocean is almost exclusively run by the Yonkou. With this plan, the world government plans to change that, so they can make sure that nobody will ever find the One Piece.
That's as far as the theory goes. I have to say that the evidence for the SMILES' brainwash or mind control feature is a bit slim at this point. However, this plan would perfectly fit Doflamingo's character, who has always been displayed as the mastermind who's pulling the strings from the shadows. I personally would say though, that Doflamingo would most likely try to betray the Gorosei at some point, if this theory turned out to be true. What do you think, though? I urge you to go and read chapter 685 again. The said scene is towards the end, and it really is quite suspect.

You lost me when Akainu killed Fujitora for trying to kill pirates.
He did it because of the upmost importance of the marine-black beard alliance.
Fujitora enranged with the plan since he has some deep history with Blackbeard attempts to assassinate Blackbeard thus ending the alliance. But the alliance is important to Akainu and decides to take out Fujitora since he never trusted him in the first place, and he couldn't risk a war with the Blackbeard pirates because of the upcoming second marineford war.
Plus Akainu believes that his views on absolute Justice is right and that what Fujitora was going to do would disrupt Justice, just like when he was gonna kill Cody(albeit I know theres a difference in that cody wasn't killing pirates)
I don't really believe this is going to happen, I'm just letting my imagination run wild.

Don't worry, I agree,
I was pretty disappointed with the marineford arc,
my favourite being the sabody archipelago, absolute drama.my "theory" is not directly after dressrosa, it is far in the future where all the overwhelming action will be. I'm just bored and am letting my imagination run wild, which I haven't done since I was like 16.
P.S This is pretty embarassing for me, because if I sound like a youngster, oh ****. I'm 33 years old

It took me some time to find the page, but here you go. That's the reason Momonosuke had those hallucinations back on PH.
I do agree though that the artificial DFs will have some nasty side-effects. To what extent Doffy is using them in his plans has yet to be shown.

Well i don't think Goa is a little kingdom because in the past some celestials dragon visited this country for some reason, and in this arc Oda compared Dressrosa with Goa twice. In my opinion, King of goa is a important king who can influence other king or country.Dragon came from Goa, Dressrosa was a powerful country and his former king was one of the leaders who formed the world governement . If Dressrosa becomes revolutionary the other king may be be afraid for their own country particularly the king of GoaWell, i know my arguments aren't very clear and it is really difficult to argue because my english is very bad, sorry for the inconvenience.
-
@Enzeru, well I know the reason behind Momonosuke's panic attack. I just think that maybe it's possible that there's more to it than what has been revealed so far.
-
FireFistShanks1 takes a tiny leap of faith and claims that this indicates that Doflamingo is able to somehow control the minds of people who ate one of the artificially created devil fruits.
That's a massive ridiculous dumb leap of faith.
According to him, that's why Joker is trying so hard to supply Kaidou with SMILES and to protect the factory:
We already know why Dofla does it. It's business. With one of the best possible clients. He's been doing organized crime stuff as long as we've known him. Remember the slaves?
He wants to overthrow Kaidou by turning his 500 zoans against him, similarly to what happened with "Order 66" in Star Wars Episode 3.
Except absolutely everything suggests Dofla has a crappy relationship with the government and we have zero reason at all to believe he's allied with the world nobility.
His character is totally based around being like a former noble type vagabond. The noble gone rogue is actually an old pirate cliche even.
Him being a government goodie goodie? What? That not only makes no sense, but ruins his appeal and personality. However, this plan would perfectly fit Doflamingo's character, who has always been displayed as the mastermind who's pulling the strings from the shadows.
Except the theory ascribes the mastermind as being the government.
I personally would say though, that Doflamingo would most likely try to betray the Gorosei at some point, if this theory turned out to be true. What do you think, though? I urge you to go and read chapter 685 again. The said scene is towards the end, and it really is quite suspect.
The biggest problem with all this nonsense is that Momonosuke ate the fruit when he was in Punk Hazard, and promptly fell down the garbage chute.
His memories and fear of Dofla were from Dressrosa before he encountered let alone ate the fruit.
A fruit that wasn't even a SMILE, it was a protoype that Vegapunk had been working on. -
Yes, I also think that the difference between Vegapunk's prototype and the actual SMILEs is the biggest counter argument to his theory. But I still think it would fit Doflamingos character perfectly, since it's pretty obvious that, if all of this were true, he'd betray the government and simply take advantage of their protection and support. Anyway, whether or not this theory turns out to be accurate, similarly to Enzeru I believe that there is a catch about the SMILEs that only a very select few characters know about.

I can't help but wonder if the reason why the dwarves call Manshelly mean and selfish is something else.
I am hoping its because she's not as gullible as every other dwarf we've seen is. I keep picturing her yelling at them for being stupid.
And the reason they call her selfish is because she gets annoyed with them and wants some time away from them due to the annoyance. Its a longshot and there is no hint this but its slightly plausible (mainly due to Oda liking to do wacky things)
-
I had the same theory as you Zgoten except for the Doffy working for the government part. As MonkeyKing said, they does not have the best relationship.
If Doffy was to take Kaidou's place, it would most likely be in order to get closer from his goal : PIRATE KING!
Edit: oops! It is not Zgoten's theory!

Hmm thats an idea. I figured there would be more to how the dwarves described her and I like the way you put it. I'm looking forward to her reveal even more now.
-
I would rather see some dwarf vs dwarf than dwarf vs human. So I hope that Manshelly joined Doffy's crew.

It's not really my theory, though.

LOL I keep imagining a scene where a group of dwarves finally find Manshelly and encounter some DD crew or his staff and they have been told some lie from Doffy's crew, like what Sugar did.
DD pirate/thug= "We lied about your princess beign ill because we didnt' have the heart to tell you that she was being controlled against her will. So we were holding Manshelly captive to prevent her from harming anyone!"
Dwarves= "Really? You are nice after all!"
Manshelly screams out = "You idiots! She/he is lying! There is a dozen of you and not a single one brain cell among you! Just wait until I get free, I'm gonna beat some sense into you!"
-

I picture the princess of the dwarves the same way. Mean and Gullible? I don't think so. Mean because everyone is gullible? Much better and amusing. It is basically Luffy with Usopp.
-

Maybe it's just me, but that sentence looks pretty awkward on it's own.

Or Chopper and Usopp, that's who Usopp's been yelling at for falling to the obvious lies lately…. though its Luffy Usopp has physically struck lol, and still grins afterwards.
How about Usopp with a combo of Luffy and Chopper?
Oh great now I'm picturing Manshelly slapping Leo on the back of the head and yelling "They were lying!"

HIt's a theory by Youtuber FireFistShanks1 regarding the SMILES and Doflamingo.
B: That's a magic word in this place and this theory was shot down a few minutes after that theory surfaced in here.

I recognize the fact that this has been stated before, but I believe that Momo is the son of the shogun of Wanokuni, or at the very least, someone in important in Wano, and the whole thing with Kinemon being his father is just a stratagem to protect the fact that Momo is someone particularly important. What other reason could Momo be important to Dofla?
-
I think Dofla's real goal is the take down the Nobles. His history with them can't be that good, considering he was poor as a kid. What, he forgave them?
Plus that speech of his, how the victors are the ones that are right, hints a desire to dominate.
-
I think that Doffy is just an other Pirate King wanna be
-
How dare you?! Don't you know that Doffy is the man who will one day become the Pirate King?!?!
Trebol squad, get in here and teach this scum some manners.
-
Didn't Monet already say he wants to be the Pirate King?
-
Haha! I did not mean it in a bad way. Actually the fact that he has the same dream as Luffy will make their fight even better IMO
BTW I would not trust Trebol squad to do any job. After the flying duck incident from next week, Trebol randomly exploded Sugar along with the dwarfs
-
Law and Bellamys DF are from Doffy, like Hancocks and here Sisters have them from the cele…
-
@Light:
Didn't Monet already say he wants to be the Pirate King?
Ace seemed to be under the impression that Whitebeard wanted to be PK, we know how that was in reality.
We need to hear more from Doffy himself to settle the matter.
-

Well, at least with WB, Ace could have assumed that he wanted to be PK because they were rivals, and rivals tend to fight for the same goal.
Plus, it would be unnecessary for Oda to make Monet say that Doula Mongo wants to be the Pirate King if it meant nothing in the end.
-

It was still an assumption on Ace's part though.
Monet obviously respects Dofla a huge amount, and might have even just been superimposing her thoughts on what he's capable of onto what he actually wants.
I just find it strange that Monet's comment about Doffy being PK is such an isolated incident.
If he does want to become PK, you'd think we'd have had it alluded to a bit more.
Still, only time will tell.
