See, that's the thing. THERE ARE gains to be had in killing Aokiji. If he let's live, he either remains in the marines, undermining his authority, and probably counter-acting his influence over marines in any way he can, or leaves them, becoming a dangerous wild card, possibly with the grudge against Sakazuki and his marines.
Plus, he went against orders there, because the fight was setup to be a fight to the death.
He went against both his orders, and what was most convenient for him to do, just to not kill Aokiji. That actually can be considered a moral behavior.
If Akainu saw that in Aokijis mind he would get in his way then he would have killed him. It said that Akainu is pitiless but showed his comrade mercy.

Aokiji is worried about Akainus marine forces. If he didnt give a rats ass he wouldn't have told Smoker anything bout his new forces in being in danger. Akainu would know Aokiji on a personal level, they've been trained together and fought together for many years. Just because he hates Akainu doesnt mean he doesnt like the marines.

Most disappointing thing? Well, there's really not much that comes to mind. But I have to say that recently, I have been a bit disappointed by how Sanji is portrayed in the manga. It looks like Luffy and Zorro will have great opportunites to show off everything they've learned over the past two years soon. However, Sanji actually needs a chance like this more than anyone. The two little 1v1 situation he's been in since the end of Fishman Island sparked a lot of discussion and (in my opinion unrightfully so) cast a bit of negative light on his fighting prowess. Despite all that, it does not seem that he will have an opportunity to redeem himself any time soon. Big Mom's ship is probably full of powerful fighters. It's likely that there's even a division commander (if not even 2) on board. For Chopper, Brook, Nami and Sanji, this is just too much to handle, which is why I believe that the confrontation will be a quick and minor one.

Kinda agree, but I've gotten used to it. It's always little shame when fantasy series take a sci-fi turn, like Skyrim with Dwemer robots. (Not sure if earlier games had those…)

Now.. I may not think that Akainu is evil, because he killed those people in Ohara and killed that marine, and wanted to kill Coby too. No. I don't even consider him evil. He is just "blind". Blindly following "justice", believing that every pirate or government's "enemy" is bad and must be killed.
Though I hate Akainu, because he played on people's emotions. He could have fought with Ace properly and killed him like that, but not by making him angry with that awful talking. Or what he did to Squardo, I doubt it was Sengoku's idea.

Also Sengoku might have sent Akainu to finish Ace, but that speech was his improvisation. And I have no proof, so why I think that? 1- We really don't see the newspaper much esp people who work for (only seen 1 reporter & 1 photographer of the DP- Rita Skeeter & Bozo), never seen the editor ect. in OP, we've seen a huge mass of reporters but only named reporter is Aboslom … but we don't know which newspaper he works for.

I imagine the newspapers deliver to whoever is paying (and we know that the pirates do pay due to that scene with Nami before they entered the Grand Line) and that they cannot find the criminals that way -after all the seagulls fly faster than a ship can follow them. Also think its like the HP post owls- whatever magic gimmick that allows the birds to find the recieptiant by only their name prevents others from following the bird to where the person is.

Yeah, It used to bother me bit too, but I find the newspaper delivery system appropriate and realistic, though it should take longer for people to recieve the paper. I find the den-den mushis to be a charming and creative solution.

I think those delivery birds deliver papers indiscrimintely to which ever vessels they come across on the seas. Though I do expect for they to be specially trained birds that deliver to specific vessels or individuals like courier birds.

Yup very true, I hope we don't see too much of that though, I don't have much of an appetite for technological archetypes in One Piece. One Piece being a period piece, it would break the illusion a bit.

He was pretty intimidating when he started taking things seriously on Thriller Bark ie with Shadows Asgard.

I don't think his personality is going to change much either, but you have to remember he was different before Kaido killed his crew.
Don't really expect his appearance to change drastically, but there has to be a reson why Oda keeps hiding his appearance. Keeping him in the dark, then showing him completely the same kinda seems pointless. Or maybe I just became too suspicious reading One Piece, trying to find purpose and hidden intent in everything.

Gone are the days when Oda could properly flesh out a story arc. Due to time constraints and his poor health, he's been relegated to rushing through the remainder of One Piece.
Dressrosa has been the most inconsistent cluster fuck of an arc Oda has ever written. There have been so many ass pulls and abandoned sub-plots that I'm starting to lose count. And don't even try to tell me that Oda hasn't been bullshitting his way through this arc lately. It was clear by chapter 724 he wanted to rush through everything.
Oda had the arc set up pretty nicely by chapter 721, but after that, things started getting overly hectic. Throwing Nami, Sanji, Chopper and Brook out of the arc, dragging Sabo into things with virtually no build up, having Big Mom's crew show up, ruining the flow of the tournament etc. were all stupid decisions.
The flashback showing how Doflamingo took over Dressrosa was the most poorly written flashback in the series, and that's a fact. It seemed like something Oda came up with in five minutes. It was the most pathetic excuse for a political coup I've ever seen. Am I supposed to believe that an entire country could have their loving, benevolent King turned against them in a single night? Didn't it seen strange than him and his entire army were crying out in pain doing something completely contradicting their personalities? And they didn't feel suspicious when a shady motherfucker in a pink coat conveniently saves them?
And the funniest part about this was when Robin commended Doflamingo for being cunning. No Robin, he was just lucky enough to target the most gullible country in the Grand Line. Crocodile shits on Doflamingo in terms of intellect.
But at least Fujitora is there to make the arc bearable.

Wow, someone from some distant random forum that I actually really agree with. Good for him.
The reasons for the odd change in the pacing are something that no one knows, heck they might even be something Oda himself hasn't realized or acknowledged at all, so jumping into conclusions as to why that has happened is a bit presumptuous at best. But aside from that all of his criticism pretty much hits the mark. Dressrosa is not the great post-timeskip arc that everybody's been hoping for. Although, I will say that it's still much better than either FI or PH were, so calling it the most chaotic clusterfuck Oda's ever written isn't exactly fair.
I'm having some difficulty detecting what sideplots Oda has dropped this arc, though. Jora and CP0 are the only ones I can think of. There's a whole bunch of stuff that is still going to happen, so we're most likely going to get at least somewhat satisfying resolutions for most of them. I'd say the lack of focus and time spent on each subplot is currently a more glaring issue.

Crocodile's plan was exactly the same. Cobra was never shown as anything but unbendingly benevolent but nobody seemed to give a thought to the possibility that it was a trick. The only difference really is the pace of the plan. Crocodile spent a long time setting his coup up and bringing down the populace's general mood with sandstorms, whereas Doflamingo did no preparation work at all. It can be argued, however, that Doflamingo had advantages that meant he didn't need to. Specifically the fact that he brought wealth to a country of poverty and more importantly he had Sugar to not only put down resistant elements but to completely erase them from people's memories. We haven't seen it explicitly, but the violent change in the outlook of the people of Dressrosa is pretty suggestive that they've been unknowingly pacified towards Doflamingo by having those who would dissent erased from their minds.
As for the acceptance of Doflamingo on the night, when you're as terrified and confused as the people of Dressrosa were you'll accept just about any liberation you can get, and that was Doflamingo. You can deal with the implications of that later, but by then I imagine Sugar comes in. People start forgetting those who raise issue with what happened and with them the reasons they raised issues in the first place. The longer this goes on the less problems people can find in Doflamingo. Then he goes and makes Dressrosa rich, brings the protection that comes with his Shichibukai status and perhaps even the pride of being ruled by somebody with so much power.
My only comment on the pacing is that I recently read what there is of the arc through again and it was fine. Some issues are a hell of a lot more prevalent when you're waiting a week or more between chapters, so honestly I'd hold off on judging the arc until it's done, especially since 'dropped plot threads' aren't provably dropped until then. I think removing some of the Strawhats from the arc might serve it well in the long run. It'll tighten the focus and allow for new characters to get their time in the limelight, which they need for it to be a decently fleshed-out arc. Obviously this view changes if you're a particular fan of a character who's gone, but I think it makes sense story-wise.
I'm not sure what build-up for Sabo's return would have looked like, to be honest.

1,So many New World Pirates and no sign of Haki, only a few times, even Whitebeard who should have Mastered Haki didnt use it at Logia Users like Aokiji, this war realy lame.
2.Doflamingo vs Crocodile, i dubt Doflamingo doesent know about Haki and he sure knows Crocodile is a Logia and efights Crocodile without it.
3. Crocodie doesent show ANy signs of Haki anywhere, such a Monster who faced even Whitebeard a some Point of his Journey and War Lord for a certain time, he should for sure know what Haki is.
Sure there was Haki at the War, but there was no Haki in situations where it was realy needed!
I think Oda messed thinks up with Haki, maybe for the sake of the Story but at Marineforde where so many High Level Persons fight each other he could pull a litle more of Haki.
Bevor Time Skip Haki the Unknown Power, after Time Skip everyone knows about it. meh.

1,So many New World Pirates and no sign of Haki, only a few times, even Whitebeard who should have Mastered Haki didnt use it at Logia Users like Aokiji, this war realy lame.
2.Doflamingo vs Crocodile, i dubt Doflamingo doesent know about Haki and he sure knows Crocodile is a Logia and efights Crocodile without it.
3. Crocodie doesent show ANy signs of Haki anywhere, such a Monster who faced even Whitebeard a some Point of his Journey and War Lord for a certain time, he should for sure know what Haki is.
Sure there was Haki at the War, but there was no Haki in situations where it was realy needed!I think Oda messed thinks up with Haki, maybe for the sake of the Story but at Marineforde where so many High Level Persons fight each other he could pull a litle more of Haki.
Bevor Time Skip Haki the Unknown Power, after Time Skip everyone knows about it. meh.

The reason Doflamingo did that was because he was playing around with crocodile. He was just talking to make a deal. I understand your points and i agree but just talking about this one. I mean honestly, the first thing i would do if logias were real in this world or i in the OP world, i would love to attack them and chop there heads off because it does nothing.

Wow, someone from some distant random forum that I actually really agree with. Good for him.
The reasons for the odd change in the pacing are something that no one knows, heck they might even be something Oda himself hasn't realized or acknowledged at all, so jumping into conclusions as to why that has happened is a bit presumptuous at best. But aside from that all of his criticism pretty much hits the mark. Dressrosa is not the great post-timeskip arc that everybody's been hoping for. Although, I will say that it's still much better than either FI or PH were, so calling it the most chaotic clusterfuck Oda's ever written isn't exactly fair.
I'm having some difficulty detecting what sideplots Oda has dropped this arc, though. Jora and CP0 are the only ones I can think of. There's a whole bunch of stuff that is still going to happen, so we're most likely going to get at least somewhat satisfying resolutions for most of them. I'd say the lack of focus and time spent on each subplot is currently a more glaring issue.
In a way id understand Jora but CP0 just came to make a report and then left.

I'm not sure what build-up for Sabo's return would have looked like, to be honest.
A build up wouldn't be that good. He is already being built and hyped up and all we know about him is that he is 99% Sabo, a revolutionary and until last week pretty dam strong.
But yes. The guy is jumping to conclusions when the Arc is coming to its climax. There is a saying. Those who are quick to speak without listening are stupid. Those who are slow to speak and listen is the wise one.
