Maybe Mashima don't want to kill Jellal at all?
-
And why did the traitor have to transfer they key to himself first?
More important: why the traitor had to say that that the key was transferred inside of himself? Wouldn't have been more smart to just say "I took the key off of Jellal, now I have to put it inside of someone other, so we can kill him/her and activate everything", leaving out that the key was temporarily inside of him? You know, since you are surrounded by demons, maybe it would be a good idea to use your brain.
Meh. Mashima doesn't really care about trying to put together a slightly more believable story… -
Saw the plot twist with the chairman coming the minute he said how he'd transferred the key to himself. He probably figured he was too important for them to kill when he said that, whereas they saw it differently. I figured that Jellal vs. Oracion Seis was building towards them working for him, though I don't know why it took so long for him to say that. As for the next chapter, I assume the title is referring to Oracion Seis accepting Jellal's offer, though I've been wrong about that sort of thing before.
-
Wow someone stupider than Natsu.
-
Well as Jellal is something like the represantation of Mashima it was always clear that he won't die but this cop out is really weak. And even weaker is the way al
l those little bitty villains were defeated and how they are now being redeemed. So all in all typically fairy tail. -
Some heavenly god magic that didn't so much as scratch the bad guys. Impressive as ever, Jellal.
Is he really blind now?
-

It's okay, eye surgery is easy on this manga.
Ops, wrong one. -
It would be really funny if Brain would actually stand up now, become Zero and kill everyone (except Jellal of course).
-
I like how you can actually see the borders of the manga panels in the shattered illusion thing
-
I knew the ex-chairman was going to die once I saw his design. It was a compelte lock when he became the traitor.
Hard to say whether Jellal is really blind or not, he totally opened his eyes wide, looked directly at that mage in her eyes yelling we need to kill/defeat Zeref.@No:
http://readms.com/r/fairy_tail/369/2230/18
That's not contrived as shit at all.
Also Hiro wastes the potentially interesting character of the Ex-Chairman because why not ?
I didn't really see anything potentially interesting about him at all. He was created to be a traitor and then die. As bad guys go just look at how he was acting compared to the rest of the demons he alllied with. He was gonna die once they found and killed Jellal after he found him for them.
It would have been more shocking if they had kept their word.
-
Also I think it was Hiroy who called the Midnight's nightmare stuff, right? Seems like you are bonded with this manga. :ninja:
Beat him/her by one post.
And it was more than obvious. It's like Mashima isn't even trying any more.
Btw, that Jellal's boot was a little too much. I get it that it was partly a show for Meldy, but what was going on in Jellals perspective while there was nothing left of him but one torn boot? Silly and unnecessary.

Well, I had simply forgot about her powers. Even her name for that matter :P

Well, I'm still not sure if it's a he or a she. First I thought it was a woman, then it was determined it was a man. Or is it?

Who? Midnight? I thought that was a man.
-
I thought it was a woman
-
Sure Hiro will answer this question in a future fanservice-only chapter.
-
I never saw Midnight as a woman always looked male to me.
-
Yeah, the wiki says he's a man, and some scenes from the manga support it. Still, gives me female vibes.
-
Midnight has a somewhat feminine face, but hey, bishonens abound in many mangas. However, looking at his body, he is obviously a guy. At least in the Nirvana arc, he has basically the same body type as Gray. One thing is drawing a flat-chested girl, but making her broad-shouldered and muscular…

Didn't stop Miyashita from pulling a "It was really a girl !" twist for the, retroactively, only female fighter in his entire series :P
-
Thought it was a chick too. Freeza all over again.
-
Can we please not use the pronoun "it" for people thank you.
-
Anyway, it was confirmed by Mashima it was a man.
A pretty man. Wonder how Mashima will pull off the transfer of dark guild members to a guild that fights dark guilds.
Then again, Urtear was in Grimoire Heart and it turned out she was just mean because she missed her mommy. Kuma twin was looking for his brother or something, so he should be fine. Angel was probably mean because she got separated with her sister Yukino. Cobra isn't really that bad, as we've seem him help the good guys. Midnight was probably mean just to please his dad, Blaine. That leaves Racer. He's a big mystery. How could he possible decide to join Jellal? The suspense is killig me! -

Ah, well I don't think anyone was meaning to use "it" in a derogatory manner, it's just a neutral way of reffering to someone who'se gender you are confused about. I only use it in english though, cause there it sounds more natural-ish. In Czech you have to pick one even when saying "was", cause most words are gender specific (it'd be a "byl" for a man or "byla" for a woman f.e.).
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Also the Council isn't around anymore to verify shit, so what's the point of differentiating, since there are no more "dark" or "light"/legal guilds anymore thanks to that ?
Using Jellal's BS term of "independent guild" makes even less sense now then it did before.
-

I was more referring to Zik TBH. And I like how Razh completely disregards me, LOL.

I know, but I feel like I had to say something because I do it too.

Just teasing
I just used "it" because it was easier. I don't discriminate against anyone.
-
Yeah, I'm wondering why I was singled out when everyone else were using the neutral term as well.
-
@Zik:

Because I didn't look at the last page LOL. Now I see that.

Which made me realize I'd want to see something very specific, but I know neither Fairy Tail nor Mashima are the right manga/mankaga to give me that. I'd want to see a guild that usually acts in positive ways as to be indentified among the light guilds, and which, now that the Council gameover-ed, starts acting in despicable ways, even by killing people.
Also, didn't know "it" could've been used in a negative way. You never stop to learn something new.

I suppose it can when refering to transgenders. I heard/read/seen it a couple of times.

Oh, I see. Yeah. That makes sense. I only knew you could offend them by using the "he" for a male-to-female and the "she" for a female-to-male.
Anyway, let's go back to that box of crap that's Mashima's work.
-

Oh right, the "it" thing detracted me from what I wanted to say. Would be great if there were two-faced guilds who suddenly revealed their true colors now that Council lost the power. I mean the possibilities are limitless. If only Mashima made more effort into building the world, and less into making Fairy Tail defeat every big dark guild there is.
He did a lot better job with world building in Rave, that's for sure.
The way this is resolving, there doesn't seem to be anything left, but Tartaros and Zeref's personal posse. I'm guessing he will have some minions. Or hoping, at least. There's nothing worse for a manga than a final boss who fights multiple good guys at once. Naruto is currently the best proof of that.
-

"It" is used to refer to things(inanimate). Referring to a person as a thing is insulting in any place in the word, I think.
Ex1: In the Fantastic Four "The Thing" name was an insult/joke that the Human Torch made and that stayed.
Ex2: All the fight against the "objectivation" of the women. When you do that you're saying that women are objects, things so "It" and not a "she".When you call a transgender or anybody as "It" you're saying you don't even consider them a person/human.

Offer an alternative then, and by the way being unsure of someone's gender isn't the same thing as objectification.

The pronoun "It" wasn't made to resolve the problem of "being unsure of someone's gender" but to identify objects, so I'm not saying that both things are the same, but that technically you're using the pronoun wrongly.
In a lot of languages(Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, …) it doesn't even exist a third person pronoun for objects.Don't get me wrong, I don't really care if you use "It" or other thing, it wasn't even me who asked for you to stop writing "It". I just responded because it seems some people here didn't even knew that "It" could be insulting and neither why.
P.S: You can always use "he/she" you know?
-

You can use "they" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singular_they

Well don't know why you quoted me. It's not like I needed an explanation.

I tried… :getlost:
-
I'd argue about Phantom Lord but their members openly admitted to threatening their clients to double their reward money, so not exactly subtle there.
Where was the Council to try and get them in line eh ?
-
http://readms.com/r/fairy_tail/370/2243/1
! So Face is literally a face?
-
Even the bad guys can't stay dead .-.
-
Even the bad guys can't stay dead .-.
What bad guy was supposed to stay dead? We already knew Minerva was being converted, and the Tartaros guys said when they died that they could be regenerated… in fact, the guy even said he'd be back when he died. It's not like this was just established this chapter.
-
So that is Minerva? I thought she was the one demon that brainwashed Elfman. Oh well, whatever.
Face being a literal face is quite… Mashima-like I suppose. And the bomb in FT's HQ being a real bomb as well did surprise me. I thought it was some magic device used to seal the guild's powers, but it being a bomb almost guarantees that literally zero people will die in that explosion.

It's most likely that Kana either cast Fairy Sphere (less likely because of the time-lock) or put everyone into cards when she realized what was going on (Most likely).
-
Oh look, tentacles are practically a norm now.
Can't wait for that octopus demon to fight with "someone"… :getlost:
Wonder how Mashima will explain their survival.
-

I'm talking about Jackal.

So, how high is the chance of a Fairy Tail member actually being harmed with serious consequences in this arc?
Even if Mira is turned half-demon by the time they rescue her… wouldn't that even be noticable once she uses her magic? She looks like a demon in that form anyway.Oh, and Mashima REALLY needs to get laid. This arc is just screaming "Give me tiem to j*** off!"
