Interesting note: Sugar has been mentioned already by name before the dwarves left from GreenBit to Flowerfield. I still wonder what rank Vergo had (since Trebol is the strongest commander). IMO Vergo stood either equal to the commander or even beyond them, since he also called DD "Doffy". Every other DD-officer refers to him as "Young master" except Dia, Trebol and Vergo (Pica hasn't said anything yet).
-
So, will 732 live up to the hype created by 729, 730 and 731 or will Oda blue-ball everyone and deliver a boring, quiet, slow paced chapter?

Probably not. Vergo was cocky due to his armament Haki. He seemed to be a much more personal friend to Dofla then the rest.

Ain't nothing wrong with quiet and slow paced, dude. Not every chapter can be 730/731 level.

How do we know Trebol is the strongest commander?
I'd certainly say Vergo was equal with the 3 Donquixote commanders but only because he was a freakin beast. He might have called him Doffy just because he was Doflamingo's first nakama, more sentimental than in terms of power.

Very true, but after the kind of chapters we've had the last 2 weeks, and leading up to a break, it would be nice if Oda could keep the ball rolling.

Here is the pg where Sugar has been mentioned: http://www.mangareader.net/one-piece/718/10 @Gia:

Well, he left the DD-pirates pretty early to be a navy double agent for DD. The chapter 731 itself stated Trebol as the highest officer. IDK if this also means he is the strongest since Pica looks more hulky and badasser than Trebol. I'd say that Vergo is at the same rank as the commanders or even DD's first mate. He got pretty mad at Law cause he didn't say "Vergo-SAN" though Law said "Kora-SAN" after he got shot by DD. IMHO Kora seems to be the former Heart-commander of the DD-pirates. For Kora's Memorial Law established the heart-pirates and tries to take revenge on DD, cause DD obviously killed Kora b4 he took over DR. But thats just a theory though it is wide-spread because pretty obvious…

One thing that we know is that Trafalgar Law was supposed to be in the heart seat. That may suggest that the other commanders are as powerful as trafalgar Law but in their own way.

Did it actually state that about Trebol?
I thought it just said he was Sugar's bodyguard and that he was a commander/seat holder.

Yeah I'd agree that they're as strong as Law. Vergo was a better fighter than Law but was overconfident in his CoA and presented himself as an easy target.

Guys i think Vergo is still Alive as he can be a worthwhile opponent for Sanji in this Arc , whats your opinion on this ?

Persinally I'd like to see characters die to showcase that the New World is dangerous and people can and will die. He should be dead. But as for him coming back I'm not too sure. Sanji is going to Zou and is away from Dressrosa so I doubt Vergo and Sanji will fight again. Vergo would be a nice opponent to go all out against in my opinion, but that's something to think about.

Well, nobody killed him, but I suppose he would need someone's help to get back to one piece.
-
About People Dying, Its One Piece :P , You Remember Pell, The Shinokuni victoms, The Franky Family and stuff ?. Also Vergo has a Arnament haki strong enough to Survive a Explosion ;)

Law got much much stronger since he left.

it's almost as if you're saying Monet is still alive…............................................................which is disturbingly possible in Oda's dictionary.

lol, sorry. it's been a while since i posted anything so i kinda just replied to the whole post.

Pell isn't a good example. If I remember a documentary correctly falcons are one of the fastest birds in the world and can fly at tremendous speeds. No dead body was seen with pell. It's also like saying if pell survived an explosion then ace can survive a magma punch from Akainu and we all know that that isn't the case.

Vergo Was Fast Enough to Get Law's heart back even though he summoned it with his room , His speed in reaching the SAD room was also considerable and i hope youre not forgetting the fact that he can use Soru(Shave) or Geppo(Moon Walk) since he is a VA
-
Of course monet is alive, same goes for sabo , I cant believe there are still people who say.monet is dead
-
Her heart was stabbed. That is proof enough. You saw blood gushing out. R.I.P. Monet.
-
People don't die in One Piece unless there's major plot progression to be had from it.
Vergo and Monet are therefore most likely alive.

And you are forgeting that he was in pieces when the room exploded…

The answer will be on the next cover story.

Yes.. His body parts all managed to get together and get out of there whilst telling Doflamingo his final farewell.
-

it's simple we saw monet die she was stabbed in the heart !! , but the same didn't go with sabo , bellamy or vergo ….. we didn't see them dying
at least we can safely assume that about monet for now -

Yes I believe that's true, but there is always room for change. Oda has more freedom in his Manga despite being with Shonen Magazine. Shonen let Oda do what he wants because he is more profitable and his Manga is clearly successful.
As for Monet I'd say she is 100% dead. She is a Logia but blood came from her heart and she dropped to the ground "dead". Caesar knew smoker was a logia and he would die, so why wouldn't it be the same for Monet?
-

Awww bless you think Monet is dead how cute, people have survived worst than getting stabbed in the heart.
-

Wasn't he shown later floating on a raft?
-
@kuma:

Not sure if you're trolling but if your heart gets crushed or stabbed you die. It's a different form of kill but it's direct and certain for that fact.
-

… No, I don't think so. Where did you see that?

We've seen ridiculous things happen to people only for Oda to bring them back from the brink of death.
Like I said, he only kills people to give plot progression to the story.
- Ace needed to die to make Luffy understand that he was too weak to be PK, and give him renewed drive to reach that goal.
- Whitebeard needed to die because the era needed to change, to set up Luffy's ascension to PK status.
Nothing would really be achieved by either Monet or Vergo dying. They were both defeated and those defeats drove the plot forward (for Law/Doffy and Zoro/Tashigi respectively), they don't need to die on top of that.
Who knows, maybe Oda will use death more liberally in the New World to really show it as the ultimate ocean…but I doubt it.
-

in real life maybe but One Piece isn't the real world is it she's alive.

Yeah I agree. I guess unless we find out if Monet or Vergo are dead or alive or one is alive and one isn't, we can set a precedent for the New World regarding deaths and little extras as to what is survivable along with technicalities
-

it's a direct stab through her raw beating heart, much like a magma fist through organs, it's a game-over.
sabo/pell they get bomb from point blank range yeah right still ppl survives those external blows, even in real life. gosh i'd hate to discuss these.

Lol.
Law was missing his heart so was missing power -
… No, I don't think so. Where did you see that?
yeah was my bad sorry, but i would still say he is alive.

Looking at diamante's face, I guess he has eat eat fruit. He can eat all things from salad to steel.
-
If there is still this discussion if Monet survived or not: I still don't get how Logias like Smoker or Monet could die from a heart stab just because Law "removed them from their bodies. Is his power so hax that it is even beyond Logia-logic? <- I love that word: Logia-logic! And bout the explosion: Monet could simply survive it by creating her weird iglo-looking snow-dome. After all even Luffy struggled in that dome cause she made 10 layers of it. You know how far Oda goes when it comes to the survival "abilities" of side chars (Pell, Papaya, CP9 after BC @ EL though they survived because of Bueno's doa doa DF…).

Wapol's been there, done that and bought furniture.

@Iron:
Well if Doflamingo follows the actual card game rules, the spades are considered the strongest suit in many card games (majority). This can also explain the late reveal of Pica leaving the strongest and best till last. Pica may clash with Zoro in the palace depending on Fujitoras decision (Zoro is after Luffy and if Pica is the "strongest" officer he would be second to Doflamingo)
Yeah that may be true, it would fit with the usual SH opponent ranking anyway. I can't imagine the difference is huge though.
The difference between Pica and the other two, if he is the strongest, is probably akin to the marginal gap between Kaku and Jabra.

Wow can we actually talk to the translators? :o? If so that's amazing, I've got some questions about translations sometimes
Then you, m'boy, have come to the right part of town.

No offence to the translator but I always thought the translator was some unheard of person in a business translating and releasing chapters like a downshifter.
