@Aohige_AP:
Yeah well some will argue that Dragon Ball should have ended with defeat of Freeza.
The world of Magi has room to expand, but what's in question is the magnitude of "scale" here.
It's going to be tough to raise the stakes convincingly.
Dragon Ball could've ended with the death of Freeza and Goku but that's only because by that point, all of the major plot points were resolved - there wasn't much of anything that was left unanswered at that point. This isn't the case with Magi.
@Enzeru:
^now I'm afraid that Sinbad will sweet-talk the Fanalis into joining him.
Scheherazade didn't like Sinbad so I'm guessing Mu doesn't either. Mu will probably go to the Dark Continent and reunite with his people - he's spent a significant portion of his life freeing his people from bondage after all.
@caesar:
Please god don't give the Marga character more screen time.
Don't be hating on Marga -.-
@caesar:
I don't think Reim has lost their Fanalis corps. Where else would they go? They're powerful, but not invincible. But more importantly he said that when she was still alive, and just said it to indicate whom he would follow. I also don't see how Kou will be divided, Kouen is still stronger than his direct family members and not even he would follow his mother now that she is known as an Al-Sarmen operative.
Scheherazade is almost dead so when she finally does kick the bucket, Mu is pretty much free to do as he pleases. He's stated his loyalties lie with her so he can leave or stay and protect the nation she loved more than anything. Then again, there's the matter of his little speech about "being different" like Titus so who knows.
Right now there are two (and possibly a third) factions in Kou which illistrate the struggle between the monarchy and Al-Thamen. Kou can easily be divided on the basis of a Civil War between:
- Kouen vs Gyokuen
- Hakuryuu vs Gyokuen
- Hakuryuu vs Kouen
@Enzeru:
I'm pretty sure she'd have to be born as a Magi. And if that had been the case- namely the Rukh being attracted to her- Mogamett, if nobody else, would've already noticed. So Marga magically turning into a Magi is nonsense in my eyes.
Yeah I was thinking that but I was hoping that, as a Magi - a supreme magician - she'd be able to rebuild Magnostadt and become their leader. Maybe she got some of Titus' (Scheherazade's) Rukh?
@The:
I most certainly agree with you there, but it bugs me that so many parrallels have been drawn to the end of Alma Toran ("I can't let it happen again! Oh noes, its happening again). Especially Al Sarmen showing up to go "yesss this is exactly what our dream goal is!"
Of course there may be other ways to realize this goal, but that kinda feels more like the superhero comic approach; "Curses! My plan to destroy the universe using MacGuffin A was thwarted! I shall try the same thing again using MacGuffin B next year."
Well the question is what is really the point of their goal? Besides destroying the world and hating Solomon, what was really the point of their whole ordeal? Was it merely because they curse the destiny they were given? Is that even a viable goal for someone like Gyokuen who was Solomon's Magi? Why did they even go through the trouble of slipping into Solomon's new world? Why do they hate him and the positive rukh so fucking much?
In any organization, different levels have different goals. I'm guessing the spot and general destruction is a lower level goal. There must be something more for Gyokuen, the rest of the top brass, and the "Father" himself.
@Nobodyman:
I think anyone's going to deny that the series ending now would be really abrupt and disappointing. It's just that, to some of us, that looks like what Ohtaka may be doing.
I don't see why she'd end it considering a new season is airing in a month, the series is doing very well, she's selling a good amount of volumes, etc. etc.
@Aohige_AP:
Al-Sarmen being a one-dimensional SPREAD DARKNESS HATE EVIL DAAAARKNESSSS villains probably doesn't help.
Whatever their motives were at start, they're basically caricature embodiment of evil now.
Which I actually don't mind, but they so far don't have the kind of awesome vileness appeal like the Major and his Nazi vamps in Hellsing.
Like I said, I agree with a higher motive. You must really hate someone, and for good reason, if you're willing to cross dimensions in order to fuck them over.
