So what you guys think it will happen in the cover story will the ship be destroyed or will caribou escape making this cover story useless?
Chapter 715: "Close Contest C-Block"

So what you guys think it will happen in the cover story will the ship be destroyed or will caribou escape making this cover story useless?
I'm hoping something happens with it, other than Caribou and friends sailing off into the sunset. Or otherwise, like you said, it would've been a pretty useless cover story.
Maybe Oda just wanted to use it to give us a glimpse of what was happening on one of Kaido's islands, though.
-
@Monkey:
It's almost as bad as this quote I read from a Bleach fan in NF:
"I realize it's popular online to misrepresent and troll Bleach, but the manga is higher quality than OP at the very least. Better art quality, better writing, better characters, and a better setting. Luffy is a boring protagonist in a boring setting."
Bleach has a setting??
-
I just want caribou to die(i know that will not happen i'm just so tired of him).
-
Yeah, wish we could have seen X. Drake or even Kaidou himself.
-
So what you guys think it will happen in the cover story will the ship be destroyed or will caribou escape making this cover story useless?
I don't think Oda will make an useless cover story with somebody who holds valuable information about an ancient weapon but I give 5 covers at most and it must likely to end at sea then on that island
-
Yeah, wish we could have seen X. Drake or even Kaidou himself.
I don't think we would have ever saw X. Drake or Kaido in a mere cover story, not until we actually see them in the story itself.
However. We could've seen, or still could see, the outline of them. Not their full outline of course, but enough for dedicated One Piece fans to gobble up.

i suspect we either see a shadow, a silhouette or a strong hint towards kaido that either we would be able to understand (say SLIMEs in a chest or on a table or something) or a clue that we realize in hindsight what a foreshadowing it was.

Universal Studio Japan.
The grave's been there for a while now, but they added the three sake cups for the One Piece Premium Summer event 2013.that's heaven on earth wow. These people playing the strawhats and the marines have the best job ever.

Best job in the world is being dressed as Zoro and getting lost in a theme park. The only way they can fire you is if you know where you are going and get there.

If they escape it will NOT make it useless. Remember back in FI, Caribou said something of telling someone about Shirahoshi being Poseidon. If they get captured/ re-captured by marines, that is less likely to happen.
Caribou needs to be free to best be able to still pose that threat of exposing Shirahoshi to the danger of really despicable people knowing the secret of Poseidon. So what do I think will happen? A few more chapters (3-6 is likely) where Caribou & crew (he needs others to help pilot that big Marine ship) escape from Marines, maybe one or two cover showing random events as they sail on and last cover of arc shows Caribou meeting that person he referred to on FI so he can tell about Poseidon's existence.

I'm just tired of him so even if the cover story ends on a high note i'll probably just yell "FINALLY".
-
How could the Cover Story wind up as useless in any way?
It shows us what will happen to Caribou, who'll have to make a comeback in the main story with his "you-know-who".
It also reunited him with Coribou & his crew.
It showed us G-5 and Yarisugi a bit more (though this isn't hat important).
Gabull & his rebels were introduced as well as Scotch was brought back. And I guess this will also come into play later again. It basically has to do with Kaido and I don't think Gabull's backstory can be fully explained in these last few installments of this CS. Caribou will probably safe his grandmother though, now that he's reminded of his own one by Coribou, I guess. The only reason some people deem this CS as unimportant, is because the don't like Caribou. This Cover Story actually has more important stuff going on than many before.

I want to see Lucy take down jean in one panel and injury don chinjao next chapter.

This has NEVER happened, never have I heard of such, nor can I find ANY evidence or discussion of such conversation ever taking place from either artists.
So. If you're certain you're not just talking bullshit, can you site a proof?
Since apparently, this "fact" is only known outside of Japan. If you cannot site a source, please kindly stay silent. Like forever.
Why don't you google it, right now? - : "hiro mashima and eiichiro oda". A good researcher looks at all sources - and there they are. You might even want to check out those youtube videos. You want more? Go check out MS's "Oda vs. Mashima" article, there is loads of proof in the comments section. Next up, buddy, I never said this was some exclusive fact outside of Japan, let's not put words in my mouth. Either way, I'm not wasting time with this - it isn't the time or place to be talking about this either. This isn't me copping-out, rather. It's me saying I've had these discussions/debates before on completely neutral grounds and I'm not going to resurrect the zombie. This whole thing is pathetic in the first place and since this is an OP forum, there is clear double standards.
The fact that I have to prove something that is universally acclaimed outside of this forum to somebody who won't even take a few minutes to do his own research just to be apart of this community is ridiculous. Thanks to your childish tone, I'm not spending a minute more contributing to this off-topic discussion.

You can't tell someone to look at all sources and not cite your own dude - it's friggan publication 101 - cite sources or don't repeat a claim.
How can Aohige trust he is reading the same "sources" as you if you don't cite them.
Go check out MS's "Oda vs. Mashima" article, there is loads of proof in the comments section.
I can't stress this enough - Comments sections in anything can and will never be cited as "proof"

The burden of proof rests on your hands. You can not claim something then make another person prove your claim that you made, that's not how it works, buddy.
If you claim something, you have to back it up. The only burden another person has would be to verify that what you provide is factually legitimate and unbiased, then it can be used in the discussion or debate. You have no idea what you're doing here.

You are the one making the claims. Not him. That puts the onus on you to back them with evidence.

Also, he did google it. In japanesse. All that you bring is the oppinion of the Mangashare staff.

@Monkey:
Bleach has a setting??
What is a bleach? What is continuity with story, character strength/development? Well apparently the mangaka of bleach doesn't seem to know either.
If they're not in the spoiler section then it's almost certain they are.
Thank GAWD. Seemed kind of fake…
@CCC:
On-topic: Uhhh… Bobby Funk definitely has a devil fruit. Gotta be. I wonder if he'll absorb someone else this week.
Or his brother has the DF, to be able to be worn.
-
Or his brother has the DF, to be able to be worn.
Doubt it, Kerry Funk seems like the pompous older brother who relies on his younger brother to do everything for him, kinda like Elder Toguro in Yuyu Hakusho. Bobby Funk, on the other hand, is a freaking beast. The guy tanked a Haki infused attack while not even trying to retaliate.

I'm pretty sure they're just skilled fighters too. I don't see any hints of a DF power.

You're talking to a Japanese-American with active ties to the old country who is fluent in Japanese in all the senses that entails.
He's taking that tone with you because what you said is retarded tabloid rumor mongering, not well research in any sense at all, and someone well in touch with the actual place where things go down is all the more put off by such careless talk.
Furthermore, no matter how many times you tell yourself that it's because this is a One Piece forum, the fact that you actually think someone as godawful as Hiro Mashima has had an influence on Oda (rather than you know, Akira Toriyama or Takehiko Inoue, incredibly competent mangaka who Oda has openly spoken of and with in interviews, who have both left their mark on shonen), says a good deal about your ability to parse the world around you.
You apparently respect terrible trash like Rave and Fairy Tale, you also apparently fall for tabloid level news. What an asset to the forums you are. You suck. -

No, you're being rediculous.
Site them. Source them. You made the claims, not I.
because apparently, you seem to value rambles of trolls in a forum over oh I dunno, THE ENTIRE JAPAN.
Can you actually site a source other than "umm my brother's friend was a cousin of Oda's assistant!" nonsense. The ONLY source of your claim are English forums.
Like I said, there's not one proof of this "Oda and Mashima talking shit to each other" BS.
You're going to have to list a credible Japanese published source, on paper or on the internet.
The fact that no one discusses this in Japan ever is obviously a strong hint that your "friends" are talking completely out of their asses. -
are the spoilers about to come out? why are there so many lurkers in the spoiler section. Just asking because if they come out tonite I might stay up to see them but if Wednesday I'm going to bed. If Aohige or someone could let me know the likely hood of them coming out tonite it would be much appreciated.

They sometimes come out around this time, but late at night.
-
I reckon people are there because they saw the damn spoiler from the other site and wanna know if it comes true.

The sources he's even talking about is some loose ass theory that the fairies stealing things in Dressrosa is a joke on Fairy Tale stealing things.
Ironclad evidence!

That's the nice thing about AP, our dudes simply don't even bother posting bullshit.
The only downside to that is the bullshit spoilers are often hilariously stupid.

The fact that no one discusses this in Japan ever is obviously a strong hint that your "friends" are talking completely out of their asses.Close-minded OP fans directly attacking FT fans are ridiculous. Oda and Mashima have been ripping off of each other's character designs and verbally insulting each other in dialogue forever now, this isn't news at all. Whether they're actually good friends or like taking jabs at each other, who knows! But here's what I will say…
It's silly how Mashima is the only one ripping designs and Oda's not when presented with evidence here on AP. I'm fans of both series but if you guys wanna come out on top of FT fans, then stop using pathetic double standards, it's not helping.
No, mangastream is just trying to stir up shit that isn't even there. Their "evidence" is laughable, I've never read anything so reachy before.
This is the "beef" Taco and mangastream are trying to convince people of:
Oda the instigator!
1. The last arc of Fairy Tail was a tournament arc. The general consensus among fans(western fans, anyways) is that it sucked. Mangastream somehow came to the conclusion that Oda is using the Dressrosa tournament to "show Mashima how it's done."
2. The main female protagonist of Fairy Tail is a girl named Lucy. She was more or less destroyed in the tournament and didn't have any real impact on the arc until the end. Oda is having Luffy compete in his tournament under the alias 'Lucy'. Mangastream thinks Oda is subliminally trying to tell fans and Mashima that his "Lucy" a more capable fighter and all around better character than one of Mashima's primary protagonists.
3. Whether or not Oda even acknowledges Fairy Tails existence is ambiguous(yet he's wasting all this time bashing Mashima.)
4. The Fairies of Dressrosa and how when they steal something from you all you can do is "laugh and give up" is supposed(according to MS) to be a jab at Fairy Tails recent drop in sales and popularity over the past 6-7 months because of people giving up on it due to "bad writing".
1. Fairy Tail(the guild) sets out on a mission to rescue a village of frozen giants. One even looks kind of like Oars. MS interprets this as Mashima ripping giants from Oda.
2. Fairy Tail encounters a guild of Treasure Hunters/Thieves who came to the village to steal the giants treasure while they are incapacitated. MS thinks Treasure Hunters = Pirates.
3. A third party arrives with as of yet unclear intentions and the leader says something along the lines of "Ignore the treasure hunters(pirates to MS), the Mages are the real threat".
4. One of the "pirates" screams "Super!" before every attack.5. One of the "pirates" is a sniper.
6. Fairy Tail defeats the Treasure Hunters guild quite handidly proving once and for all that Mages > Pirates and Fairy Tail > One Piece.
This is the supposed beef. Smh -_-
-
