Ugh…I swear Kishi is trying to get this serie over with asap. It seems like he is following a vague outline he wrote a long time ago and skipping over important development (which is odd considering how much time he spent on seemingly pointless flashbacks which should have been allocated towards alluding to all this STUFF that happens in this chapter). Most of the stuff with Madara/Hari/Tobito are fleshed out fine, but everything that involves the main characters is a complete mess.
I would have been fine with this chapter IF Kishi inserted scenes/dialogue that leads up to all this randomness. The whole narrative with Sasuke is a dreadful trainwreck. Everything just randomly happens without any rhyme or reason.
-"Poof" Sasuke is now a good guy after hearing some guy's story
-"Poof" Orochimaru is now a good guy
-"Poof" Karin is okay with Sasuke
-"Poof" The 4th has fox powers
-"Poof" Sakura thinks she's useful
-"Poof" Naruto is okay with Sasuke in spite of all the crazy he witnessed first hand
Are we missing a major arc or something that should have alluded to all of this? This just happened ALL AT ONCE in a span of 3 chapters.
A One Piece equivalent would be if Oda completely skipped Impel Down (as well as the Baroque Works cover story) and Luffy showed up to Ace's execution. Right before the war, Croc, Mr.1/3, and Buggy spontaneously show up and decided to give Luffy a hand. Croc then reveals he wants to become a pirate king too. That would be confusing and perhaps stupid without the proper build up right? Yeah...that's what is happening here.
PS: I love how Naruto is like "Hurrah team 7 is back" and completely disregarded Sai. I guess he completely pointless afterall in spite of having an entire arc dedicated to him.
