In the original Japanese text, the ape titan sounds so laid back, so casual, like some dude on a street or some young fella posting on a forum
I think the translation was so stiff and literal, it didn't really convey the comical so-inappropriate-for-situation casualness of the titan's speech.

Also not translating "Ah" "uwaa" contributes to it.
I'd have translated it as "Oops" "Eeewww"

It's like it's translated by someone who can decipher the meaning of the Japanese text, but not familiar with it enough to realize the style of speeches. Or the opposite, not familiar with the English language to appropriately localize.

It's basically reserved for "See you next week!" message, but in recent years several anime started to use guest-illustrations instead.

That punch was great. That soundtrack was amazing. The animation could've been better in some parts, but who cares. I also kind of hoped they'd cover two chapters, but oh well.
Loved the build-up to the whole thing. It really is the ost that sold it. Can't wait for anime-only reactions. I can see people crying foul, though. This is a very "shonen" twist in it's essence and still hasn't been fully explained, same with the following twists.

The official website for the Attack on Titan anime announced on Sunday that the first copies of the third and sixth Blu-ray Disc volumes will include bonus visual novel games. The visual novels will cover spinoff stories with Mikasa, Levi, Erwin, and other characters.

Original manga creator Hajime Isayama himself is supervising the visual novels, and the developer Nitroplus (Steins;Gate, Phantom 〜Requiem for the Phantom〜) is collaborating on their production with Production I.G. Nitroplusillustrator Namaniku ATK is designing the characters, and Nitroplus writer Gan Saaku (Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet) is penning the scenario for Eren and Levi. The developer's Jin Haganeya is also contributing; this will be his second visual novel adaptation of an anime by director Tetsuro Araki, afterGuilty Crown. Anime scriptwriter Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt ) is penning stories about Mikasa and Annie.

The third Blu-ray volume will ship on September 18 with Seko's Lost in the Cruel World visual novel about Mikasa, and Saaku's Kuinaki Sentaku [Yokoku] (A Choice With No Regrets: Preview) about Levi and Erwin's past. The sixth Blu-ray volume will ship on December 18 with Saaku's Kuinaki Sentaku (A Choice With No Regrets), Haganeya's currently untitled visual novel about Eren and Levi, and Seko's Wall Sina, Goodbye visual novel about Annie.

Supervision by Isayama sounds good and I'm really interested in Levi's and Erwin's past hmmmmm. And the Eren/Levi story, but I try to control my crazed fangirling…sometimes. XD

That episode was fuckin' something man… I teared up a lot. They did so well on Eren's Titan looking menacing (which they do well, considering the Titan that ate Eren's mother looked just a tad more polished and grotesque than in the manga). So glad I picked this up.

And I am almost certain that Titan is who kevo_koma thinks it is.

Someone should make a gif of those two titan punches. Felt so satisfying to see it happen in the anime. In fact the whole episode was pretty awesome (the OST being as good as always- actually it was even better this time around).

Man, Shingeki no Kyojin works PERFECT in the Anime. They put some hell of effort in this Series. That's the Spirit i want for One Piece, too :). Not that much fan of the Manga, doesn't work for me. It's not bad, though. Glad they made a Anime, because i don't need to bother with the Manga anymore^^. I guess the next 2-3 Episodes will cover everything i read in the Manga, so i will learn new stuff in a few weeks about this Series.
Keep up the Spirit! Great Anime, one of the bests i saw so far^^.
I am also glad to see that the Manga sales of this Series, are so high. Would be a weird feeling, to see SnK someday in OP League though. One Piece cools down slowly, while this is on Fire right now. I look forward to, how the half year and full year sales will look like. High hopes for SnK on Position 2 :)

I've seen parts of the manga, and an issue I have is that it's REALLY hard to differentiate characters. The anime sorts that out. Anyway, with how well-done the anime is, I see no problem in watching it then reading the manga once it ends, do you? (though it's hard to turn down a judgemental Pikachu ….)
And yeah, I know Titans aren't meant to be called Eotenas.

However, The manga is 10 volumes long, and I assure you that the art DOES get substantially better later on, and characters are all properly fleshed out. ALL manga artists, at beginning of their careers, start out with not-so-great artwork, but gain long-term improvement over a long-term series like this one. It's a natural thing called progress and experience. Compare One Piece chapter 1 and One Piece chapter 709, for example.

One of the most bone chillingly terrifying and effective things about SNK are the shots of Titans putting still struggling humans in their jaws. I really hope the anime isn't going to go the "humans pulled towards mouth- fade to black" route all the time.

You're going to be missing out on a lot if you're just an Anime-only watcher.

From what I heard the first season will last 25 episodes or so, so 2 seasons.

The added filler and change to chronological order have apparently been for the better. And I will eventually read the manga from chapter one.

Basically, I'm really enjoying how the anime is done, and the music and animation really help to amplify that feeling of despair and emotion, something which manga doesn't do quite as well in my experience. The anime will really have to turn to shit for me to change format.
