The joke is actually based on the urban "theorists" who suggest Shingeki world is a loop, based on the fact the author said he ripped off (his choice of words) ideas from MuvLuv alternative, how the start of chapter 1 closely resembles it, and both the content of his dream flashback as well as what he said to Mikasa.
Does that mean there's a alternate universe where the characters are all living a cliché but happy harem comedy series in present day Japan? I would read that.

If he is infact human in his thoughts, then I theorized that he was only converted into a titan and is now being forced to do their bidding through intimidation (probably kidnapping his whole village, or maybe just his family), probably the same with Berthold. :S

BTW, that chapter and Ryner's behaviour during it is super weird, considering the recent events. The guy is freaking scared of Titans, and it's not a facade; he trully is, as seen in an internal monologue where he says "Damn, just how are we supposed to defend against titans??", and 2 pages later, he's wondering if he's about to die against a miserable 2 meter titan, and he's freaking scared. Yes, the same guy that, later, turned into the Armored Titan because he was "tired of it all" and could've probably killed any titan in sight in a matter of seconds.
IF he was really fearing for his life, didn't he have a plan B in his mind consisting of, you know, turning into the Armored Titan as a last resort and kill all the other titans to save his freaking life? Was he really considering getting killed in order to NOT reveal his identity, and 3 chapters later he's like "fuck it all, I'm the armored titan, BITCH!"?
That part so far is the one I'm having the most trouble with in the entire manga.

I'm pretty disappointed with this chapter. A lot was off-paneled and it's monologue after monologue in each page. I personally think the conversation between Mikasa, Armin, and Hanse was too dragged and slow. This probably a chapter that's best read continuously.

Where was it mentioned that they needed the sun to transform? Hanji already discovered that titan activity varies with each titan, they had one captive titan that was active after sunset. And wasn't the basis of transforming related to having a clear mental objective than just pure physical damage, just like Eren turning into a titan to shield that cannon, pick up a fork, or just plain reach for the sky one last time?

i don't remember annie being attacked by other titans when she were purseing heren,at least not until she call all the titans to eat her…
also..she recovered from the fatigue of his first transformation in about 5 minutes,and now ryner and the other have to wait many hours before they are able to recover?am i missing something?
Not when they are in their titan forms but in their human forms they are vulnerable to titan attacks…like Reiner when he was in the tower.
Annie was able to transform back into her titan form but she was showing signs of fatigue as noted by Rivialle. According to him Annie was slowing down. She wasn't able to wake up early after that as well.

I thought I wouldn't be pleased with Eren losing and being kidnapped but the way it played out was alright. Now that gives Ryner and Bertholdt the chance to explain their behavior and it also enables Mikasa and Armin to shine and prove their worth (without Rivaille around to save the day). Even Hannes' words were nice to read and did what they were supposed to- strengthen Eren's friends' resolution. The chapters to come should be great ones.

All the way to their destination (from Wall Rose to somewhere beyond Wall Maria) in one go while being exhausted by the fight against Eren ? I don't think so.
if they can recover in 5 minutes and being able to fight (even with a bit of fatigue) they can recover in 5 hours enough strenght and stamina to run a bit,they don't even need to be extremely fast,they already have many hours of advantage and contrary to the humans,they don't have to fear titans and dodge them continuously.
plus,they are giants,what for a normal human is a long distance,for them is much less,especially if they use the colossal titan to run and then make changes between them once in a while,taking turns running.
also..technically only the armored titan fought against heren,the colossal titan just dropped dead weight on them and then disappeared,it's not like he should be exausted
Let's not forget that Bert and Reiner were also up all night running from titans and watching Ymir kick ass. They've already been up for nearly 24 hrs and then when you add in transforming into a titan, fighting Eren and running a couple of miles to reach cover, the 5 hrs rest is kind of justified
