seriously? the main actor dies? what a piece o shit of anime… the main actor dies in the fucking anime... this is so stupid my fuckng good... that's the same of luffy or goku or naruto die in the fucking anime this is just stupid!

I'm starting to think this is the most overrated anime of the season. Really? Nothing happens week after week but human crapping themselves and getting eaten. Eren dies like that despite all his bluster? You'd think that with the technological genius these humans have in creating a system of grapping hooks and cables that is superior to anything we currently have they come up with some better ways of dealing with these monsters than some old antiquated cannons and making teens fight them with swords.

This anime is starting to get on my nerves.Does anything happen besides everyone being eaten?

Okay, I take that back about GG, and I guess the explanation makes sense. It's still pretty stupid to change the name of the "enemy" just because the author uses engrish.

From your reactions its apparent that Eren doesn't die, which is awesome because for a moment I had considered it. I actually like how in their first taste of real battle they fail horribly, especially eren getting his leg bit off that was his own fault letting emotions guide him. Really good anime and I'm really hesitant to read the manga unless they go into some sort of hiatus.

I only read the beginning but from what I read it doesn't. The only thing I could agree is that "Attack on Titan" should be "Attack of the Titans".
The "Eoten" part is stupidly funny.

I chose GG to follow this anime (Hatsuyuki-Kaitou are good too but slow)

I dont think its just about them being anime only watcher, I saw the first episode, started reading the manga immediatly and I didn't have a stupid reaction like that, I was like no way he is death(wasn't believing it) but I didn't go berserk and start bashing the series.

Watching the ending of the episode again I'm reminded as to why I love Eren's character so much. Just as Rivaille said, Eren's will is truly unbreakable. Can't wait for certain scenes to be animated.

I think it's quite likely that a lot of these comments are made by trolls that know that Eren will live and are pretending to be pissed or just bash every thing that is popular.

The remarkable thing about that "death" in the manga is that it concludes the first volume.
That's probably one of the most cruel cliffhanger I've ever read.

Kodansha has released 4 volumes in English already with the fifth coming out in June. So yes, there are official spellings and a lot of them.

That also bothers me because it seems like they think that people can't grasp that in One Piece the Marines do everything.

And yeah, calling them Eotena is about as pretentious as you can get.

It's just as bad as changing the Jojo dialogue to popular sayings to be "historically accurate". Which is retarded, because that's assuming everyone speaks a certain way just because some people did.

Imagine writing someone's biography from this generation and we replace every word they say with their "slang" term just because it was popular at the time.

If they weren't the only people subbing these shows I wouldn't give them the time of day.

I've lived in Scandinavia all my life, and I'll be damned if Eoten is something I've ever heard of. If its the Nordic version of Jotun, its Jætte, at least in Denmark, and the most common translation of Jætte is Giant.

So I wouldn't call it accurate, since no Nordic person alive would use that Word.

After replaying Fallout last week, the Titans' side remind me a lot of Richard Grey and his Unity. Granted, there are key differences, like the titans slaughtering pretty much everyone without taking prisoners (barring Eren, which they still haven't succeeded in doing), whereas Super Mutants occasionally take prisoners to convert. Also, the most unique titans we've come across (except for the hairy one) have all been able to shift between human and titan form pretty much at will, whereas turning into a Super Mutant is a permanent deal. Still, the injection that Eren received from his dad is clearly the FEV of their world, so maybe Eren's dad is their Richard Grey.

Hopefully once the three-way titan smackdown comes to a close, we can get some answers regarding where the three traitors came from and how they came to be. It's probably too soon, though…

Saying that, fuck! This is easily one of the strongest starts to an anime I have ever seen. I couldn't believe the ending of episode 4, and then episode 5 was somehow even crazier and ended in a flashba.. no wait, the main progonist got eaten and his arm was thrown at the viewer's face. This is a huge if but if this anime can keep this type of intensity, writting and just overall amazing storyline, it will easily end up being one of the best animes out there. These 5 episodes alone have excited me more than pretty much everything that has happened in One Piece after Ace's death. I am so amazed by the anime at the moment, wow. By the way how good is the illustration quality and animation? This should be the standard for every single anime being made from now on, it utterly crushes about 95% of the animes in both departments where it's not even a contest. For anyone reading, I am already a fanboy.

If Eren manages to kill the Titan from the inside (don't spoil for those that know), the guy's badass level will go over 9000. It would be pretty epic if inside the Titan's organs, he somehow gets their regeneration abilities. Otherwise he will have a mechanical hand and leg! :S Or he is dead.. Ok I think there is a 10% of him dieing but I am pretty confident he will not die. But if he dies. :|

I normally would for this series, however I am not for the reason that I am watching this at the same time as my sister. I actually introduced her to it (only this and One Piece), since she doesn't really watch anime and she asked for me not read it so we can both be surprised when we watch it. However after what happened at the end of episode 5, it's quite difficult not to read the manga. :S

Also I generally don't read mangas as much because they tend to ruin the experience of the anime a bit, I've only ever read 8 or 9 in total.
