EDIT: Sander beats me…
Anyway, it looks epic!
Holy shit,we posted at the same time.
The thing looks amazing.
I honestly don't know what this Guilty Crown is and what the deal about it was,but if they somehow manage to mess this one up,heads will roll.
Mikasa !
Hype has been gotten. Its kind of bizarre to see the gritty and sketchy manga drawing style tranlated into something with this huge an animation budget.
The number 1 thing they had better get right is the feeling of complete and utter despair emanating from the series. If they start toning down the brutality, or the uncanny-valleyness of the titants, it wont work.

I don't think we have anything to fear here. The material basically can't be toned down,
Oh man. Getting animated would really do wonders for many parts of this series. Hype gotten indeed!
As long as they get the despair right, this looks like a winner.
I'd say this even has a good chance of being overall better than the manga, so long as they adapt it in seasons and don't verge away

Fall 2012 reminded me that animu can actually be good. Spring 2013 thinks that wasn't enough. Because damn if this wasn't amazing. Smooth 3d maneuver movement, creative camera work, character design smartly emulating Isayama's artwork and titans that break the trend of horrible cg models. If anything it is certain to be a visual heaven for any manga fan. And judging by director's experience, the show should pull the unique atmosphere of the manga for everything to come together in the best way possible.
It seems that Shingeki no Kyojin will get the Nichigo slot after Magi anime ends, and that might present some worries though. First would be censorship because right now it isn't easy to imagine this manag's brutality on prime time anime slot. Second would be the lenght of its run and composition issues. How much material can they fit and where would be a good stopping point? Well, for now these worries are to distant not to get overshadowed by hype.
@The:
Now watch as Shingeki No Kyojin's popularity boom!
O.O what are you talking about…It is already popular. lol
So when it start?? i mean which month??

Wait,it's gonna take over Magi's timeslot? The one where showing Paimon's nipples was considered really bold and stuff?
FUDGE.
Aww Yeah!
I was so waiting for this to happen. The sales numbers didn't leave Japan a chance not to go for this one afterall. The preview looks good. This should be the first anime since the last Lupin that I will follow on a weekly basis!
Also the anime has no chance at all to be conclusive. I wonder how long it's going to be. 26 episodes in the first run?
Damn, this is so awesome I think I'm gonna cry!!! XP
Chills brahs.
Oh god…
I shouldn't get hyped.
I shouldn't get hyped.
I shouldn't get hyped.
Oh, fuck it. This looks just too amazing.
Looks awesome indeed.
! Yo guys, remind me. Which titan was Ymir supposed to be? Anyone got a link to her first appearance as a Titan?
@Thousand:

! Reiner and berthold are from beyond the second wall and were attacked by titans and managed to escape. So it is the titan that attacked their families. But that titan looks more like the normal titan than the strong titans that humans transform into. So probably you can change them back to human transforming titans somehow.

! Yeah, that's nice and all but a link would be much more appreciated. Or is this a first time appearance and we have yet to get a flashback of the event?

It doesnt really look look like her but certain resemblances but from reading events , it was at that timepoint.
! Why would Ymir think that Christa had forgotten such a huge event/promise?
@Thousand:

It was in last month's chapter
Do I have a problem by thinking Ymir was a man until now?
Wow that actually looks kind of decent. Here's hoping they don't pull any punches with the horrific deaths and omnipresent despair and constantly looming horror of extinction.
@!Volpe:
Do I have a problem by thinking Ymir was a man until now?
Don't worry, me too.
@!Volpe:
Do I have a problem by thinking Ymir was a man until now?
What do you mean, it's a ma… Oh.
:o
I guess you aren't the only one.
So yeah, I started this series yesterday and couldn't stop reading.
This manga is amazing.
Although… that forest scene really irked me.
! The soldiers told Eren not to transform what retarded reason? If they wanted to capture Annie alive, Eren would've been great help for that.
! They lost 20 people for "trust".
! Holy balls. It felt even dumber when there was almost literally no consequence of Eren transforming to speak of.
! Just.. wow.
! I know this was addressed, but I was mad. I'm still mad. :getlost:
Pyromonki, they didn't really know for sure.
! Eren being in full control of his Titan form
wasn't a proven fact by that point.

! They didn't know, but Eren did? It seemed like he learned to manage it when he lifted the rock?
! Good point I guess, but I just think I would've took my chances seeing as she was displaying human intelligence.
! But Like I said, at least they addressed that they made the incorrect decision through ignorance.
I like how this series has the balls to pull a "trust us, you're in good hands" moment, only to have it crash and burn horribly. YOU SHOULD HAVE GIVEN IN TO YOUR KILLER RAGE ALL ALONG, EREN
http://www.mangapanda.com/shingeki-no-kyojin/40/44
I don't get what they're reffering to here, is this something I missed ?

[SPOI…Wait,do we even have to use the tags? This stuff was like, volumes ago.
So,anyway:
When Eren went Titan during the events within Sheena,I vaguely remember someone noting that "oh look!Eren really is in full control!",so yeah, they weren't fully certain by the time the forest chase happened.
I'm not even sure that Eren himself knew for certain that he could manage it.The forest was the first time that he had been in full concious control all the way through. The team simply didn't want to risk it unless it was an absolute neccessity with no alternatives left...and they were pretty confident in their ability to handle the "female Titan".
That's how I see it anyawys, and if I'm correct, then it seems that they didn't put even the near amount of trust in Eren they demanded from him.

Yeah, probably the previous chapter.

! Back in Trost, Eren needed his friends to regain his senses and carry on with the operation. In the forest, he was separated from other Squad 104 trainees, so if things went wrong, they might not have even arrived at the ambush site.
Yeah, probably the previous chapter.
No, I read that.
What are you reffering to, exactly.
I was putting it in spoilers since Eren being a alive/titan is a big surprising aspect of the series. I didn't know if it was necessary or not so I was just being safe.
I'm not going to lie and say I wasn't shitting bricks when Eren got eaten.
I guess they didn't have a guarantee that Eren wouldn't lose control, but their lack of faith still ended up being 10 times worse.

The titan that attacked Ryner's and Berthold's village in Ryner's flashback. It was Ymir.

But the scan says "She".
And Ymir the lesbian is a woman.
What seems to be the problem.

My only problem is she's an asshole who let 4 captains get killed before she went "Teen Titans Go!".
I know her reasons, but just… damn.

My impression is that she's a tad more than a mere asshole…
Especially if she's THAT Ymir.

what reasons were those? I seemed to have missed something due to the author teasing us for like 3 years

its really good when you marathon it. . .especailly at the beginning, unfortunately, the plot is moving pretty slow it seems the Author has written himself into a corner, and trying to figure his way out -.- I'd suggest marthoning it after like 5-6 months at a time(that's what I do)

There is the implication that Ymir is THAT Ymir from that side chapter (Ymir's people; the giant got that scout, Ilse, confused with her since they look similar). Presumably she'd rather keep her identity a secret from everyone aside from Christa.
Just got caught up.
Absolutely brilliant.
How often are chapters released?
Monthly, I think.

I was going with the even more simple reason, she ate those two guys' friend and… they tried to kill Eren even when he only helped the village.
Her actions are easily a one way ticket to having the nape of her neck cut.
I get the feeling she probably ate that guy before she had control over herself.
Well, catched up.
Same reactions that everybody. I just want to know what was suspicious about Berthold and Ryner that Aldrich mentioned a while back.
My only confusion about this (that wasn't stated already) is how he goes to flashbacks, it wasn't untill I started to see dead recruits talking that I realized that there was a flashback. It happened recently with potato girl (Sasha?) that she was talking to her dad and then sudenly a Titan eating someone? He also uses the black borders but not always.
