So yeah this is officially the best thing ever
And Clint reminds us why he's so damn cool.
Indeed, the best thing ever.

Can Araki draw Jotaro arguing with an empty chair now.
Too much JoJo coolness lately.I have no idea how it can get better.
Except maybe the fact that I'm stuck on part 6,which I personally find uncharacteristically dull.
I'm lagging on part 5, anoyed that up to the half of it (the turtle, the train and beach boys) Giorno hasn't got a trully satisfying fight. I'm guessing that's about to change, but right now, I'm not that motivated to read it.
Yeah, Dio Dio no Rocket is glorious.
I've recently completed Stone Ocean. Getting closer to catching up to JoJo. My favorite part of Part 6 is the villain (not sure if it's a spoiler to say his name in this thread so I'll just say "Whitesnake"). Which is a nice change of pace because while I really liked King Crimson in the sense of "oh lord this is horribly cheap" I never really cared much for Diavolo himself really.
That OPENING.
That OPENING. Watching the rest of the second episode now, but holy crap, how fucking amazing was that?!
It so perfectly captures the manga's style it's impossible to believe. I will never, ever skip this.
@Sander: Yeah, I think that Stone Ocean is probably the worst arc (sans perhaps Phantom Blood, but at least Phantom Blood didn't drag). Some of the stand fights are horrendously long and dull. The last couple volumes are quality stuff, but until then it can get quite irritating. Fortunately it's episodic, so you can skip sections without missing much.
@Maxterdexter: Well, Giorno was in the first several fights, and he will in fact play a larger role after the train battle. That said, he's probably the only Jojo that's actually relegated to side character in his own story.

Oh the blasphemy.…....
I see a lot of people aren't huge fans of Phantom Blood, but it is one of my favorite parts maybe even #1.
The thing with Phantom Blood is, well, it's kind of boring. Like, not a whole lot happens until about the halfway point when vampires and the Ripple/Hamon start coming into play. I'm not too harsh on this part of the series considering it was definitely still trying to find where it wanted to go and as a general rule the earlier work of an author shouldn't be judged that much but it's still not really good. Still has it's moments certainly (Vampire Jack the Ripper~), but honestly while every part of JoJo is more or less largely self contained Phantom Blood is the only one that could really be skipped without missing out on much.
Personally DIAMOND IS NOT CRASH is my favorite part of JoJo with Vento Aureo coming in as a close second so far, but I still have to read Steel Ball Run so that could change for all I know.
Anyone who doesn't enjoy Part 1 is not a true gentleman. There I said it.
If you don't appreciate fighting a vampire without spilling a drop from a glass of wine, you have much to learn.
I thoroughly enjoyed Phantom Blood, myself. Like evert part, it was massively entertaining
Phantom Blood has a character named Tarkus. Automatically the best part.
Part 1 has Will. A Zeppeli and Speedwagon.Automatically redeemed.
Still,it's fun to see the impressed newcomers go like:
"OH MY GOD!DIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!If THIS is the weakest part as you guys say, then I'm fucking hyped!"

Also,I have to note that they keep omitting one minor but important scene,The one where little Dio pays attention to the mask on the wall and George tells him where he got it.I hope they clear that up,because I see some newcomers wondering where the Joestars got it from.Someone even thought George had some dark occult secrets going on.
I figure that they are going to show the sacrificial scene, then cut to that scene and then cut to current events.Maybe they'll do it the very next episode.
Wait, is any JoJo fan actually saying that Phantom Blood was bad? I can understand why some people like it the least even if I disagree, but come on, it's still much better than most shounen manga out there.
In my opinion, Steel Ball Run > Battle Tendency > Stone Ocean > Stardust Crusaders > Diamond is Unbreakable > Phantom Blood > Vento Aureo.
I think they're all very good save for Vento Aureo, but even that was decent. It was kinda dull, but it had some interesting supporting characters (Guido, Bruno, Leone and Narancia) and cool fights, and it brought back a certain Frenchman for the finale.
I actually haven't finished Vento Aureo yet, and therefore haven't read Stone Ocean or Steel Ball Run.
But about the other parts, I'd say: Stardust Crusaders > Battle Tendency > Diamond is Unbreakable > Phantom Blood > What I've read of Vento Aureo so far.
I see quite some love for Battle Tendency around here. Good.
Cause Battle Tendency is easily one of the best things in existence.
Steel Ball Run > Battle Tendency > Stardust Crusaders = Stone Ocean > Diamond is Unbreakable (Or to use the official spelling: Diamond is not Crash) > Vento Aureo = Phantom Blood for me. It's still too early to rank Jojolion.
Stardust Crusaders would be on the low end for me, still great but kind of disappointing
I've just started reading SBR and seeing everyone rank it so high makes me excited. I've only read the first volume so far and it already has a lot of potential.
I disagree with almost everyone on Vento Aureo, though. It's one of my favourite parts. And I don't know why everyone loves Stardust Crusaders. The final battle is great, but until that point it's just a trip being dragged and dragged by 893429039 stand users.

We posted at the same time, lol. Glad to see I'm not the only one.
The ZZ Top, weird pedophile orangutan, and demonic baby encounters really could've been cut from Stardust, but hey Araki had to run through the Major Arcana somehow.

No one is saying it's bad.
Just that it's lower tier in overall picture of Jojo.
That's not equal to bad, just that other arcs are awesome.

My problem with it wasn't the number of stand users, but the fact that the plot didn't progress at all between one and the next. We just moved from one country to another and saw a little bit more of Dio reading in the shadows, that's all.
I'll never get over how the orangutan had the nonsenical hots for a little human girl just to be blatantly evil
Oh yeah, and the little runaway girl never amounted to anything in the story, did she? Despite joining the group on two separate occasions.
Stardust Crusaders is mid-term, there is a lot of action and interesting facts, but there are many ''useless fights'' like the Sun. Vento Aureo is not too different action-wise, at least the stands are awesome and Buccelatti gang is nice. Oh, and Diavolo is basically the worst villain, Nero was way better.
EDIT: Phantom Blood may look bad compared to the other parts, but it's excellent compared to many other works outside of JoJo.
Yoshikage Kira for best Jojo Villain. Second would be Funny Valentine. Third would be Dio.
I'm really not looking forward to reading through the rest of Vento if Diavolo is the worst
I'm really not looking forward to reading through the rest of Vento if Diavolo is the worst
I wouldn't say he's the worst. He just isn't Yoshikage Kira or Part 6's villain (again not sure if I should consider this spoilers or not).
His Stand is the coolest thing about him. You might think that's an insult but I think it says a lot about a villain when the series has to invent a new type of Stand to defeat King Crimson.
I never understood King Crimson's ability to this day. I mean how is it different from Dio's ability?
@Thousand:

The World stops time. King Crimson erases it.
@Thousand:

It's actually different in the sense that Diavolo can't actually interfere with time itself. He just knows what's going to happen, dodges the attack, and then gets into appropriate position to counter attack, but he erases time so the opponent doesn't see it happen.
Technically, the uses are very much the same, but Diavolo could at least see an ass beating coming, and Dio can't.
I'm really not looking forward to reading through the rest of Vento if Diavolo is the worst
He is the worst because he feels like he came of nowhere, he wasn't as developed as he could have been. To me it looks like the mystery surrounding the boss backfired, because in the end we didn't care about him.
That said, don't give up on Vento Aureo. Its final battle is amazing even without a great villain.
And yes, Doppio!
Since we're now talking villains… I'd rank them like this:
7. Diavolo
6. Kars (I prefer Wham)
5. Dio Brando
4. Enrico Pucci
3. Funny Valentine
2. Diego Brando (I consider him the main villain of part 7 alongside Valentine)
1. Yoshikage Kira
My favorite minor antagonist is Ringo Roadagain.
C'mon, where's the love for Doppio ?
My favorite thing about Kars is that he just goes, "Fuck the honour. I want to live."
I was really disappointed with Dio in Part 3, simply because for some odd reason he never just KILLED jotaro.
Why not just do the stand punch he did to Kakoyin?
I know, he wanted to show off, but there are limits to that.
Once Jotaro moved a finger with time stopped, I would've ended the fight right there.
Part 3 Dio was just kind of stupid. What was stopping him from simply controlling the world with the mind-control spores?
I get that he has a playful, almost childlike nature to him, but still

Probably wanted to concentrate on eliminating the Joestars for the time being.Last time he initiated his plans with them still running around,he ended up becoming a head on a plate.

Mind controlling everybody is a great way of doing so
@Thousand:
Yeah…but in effect, what's the difference?
Not having seen this "Diavolo" or "King something", Dio is Pause, Diavolo is Save States.
@Thousand:
Yeah…but in effect, what's the difference?
If someone shoots a bullet at :
-Dio, he'll stop time and dodge it.
-Diavolo, he won't dodge it, he'll instead erase the time in which the bullet will be in contact with his body. Thus the bullet will just appear behind him and continue at normal speed/trajectory.
Mind controlling everybody is a great way of doing so
So was turning everyone into zombie slaves.Still ended very badly for him.
Mind controlling everybody is a great way of doing so
Or you know.. sending more than two stand users at a time?
That said, Dio did pull the EXACT same stupid stunt in Part 1. Will and Jonathan realized they couldn't beat Dio, so what Dio do? Send the legendary knights of course…
I facepalmed kinda hard rereading that.
One thing I did like about Dio from Stardust Crusaders was that he at least had a little bit of honor for those willingly loyal to him as seen with Vanilla Ice. It's not much really but hey it's something kind of neat.
@Thousand:
Yeah…but in effect, what's the difference?
The World and King Crimson are similar in effect but very different in execution. As Jotaro demonstrated before he was able to stop time himself there's at least situations you can outsmart Dio into where The World won't wreck your shit. This isn't the case with King Crimson. In essence, it removes the "cause" to prevent any "effect" from occuring (which is pretty funny considering the Stand that defeats Diavolo has the exact opposite power).
It's like I said earlier if Requiem Stands weren't invented there would be zero way to stop Diavolo. King Crimson was just that invincible.
To be fair a lot of the discrepancies with Diavolo's moveset are apparently the result of how shitty the Vento Aureo translation gets near the end.
I should really just get Vento over with
It's a shame everybody ranks it fairly low since I'm Italian lol

They just don't understand the greatness that is Doppio.
So I just found this thing:
