my prediction: someone will take over against Monet so Luffy can go after Ceasar. Luffy vs Ceasar and Smoker vs Law, all taking place at the room where Law is
Chapter 681: "Luffy Vs. Master"
-
-
In the SAD room = Kinemon's experimented on son; got turned into a superweapon (not an ancient weapon). BAM!
-

Diable Jambe Flange Strikesince the TS, Sanji's been using it on and off at will with much more control similar to how Luffy controls gear 2nd
we also haven't seen much of Vergo's ability (only briefly in the chapter when he hits Law on the head with a bamboo?)
http://www.mangareader.net/one-piece/672/4 bamboo and shirt goes dark
http://www.mangareader.net/one-piece/680/16 shirt goes dark when hitting tashigi
maybe he's hardening his leg when he kickshmm doesnt seem like the trousers leg or shoe is darker (maybe it doesnt work like that?)

! Color of Observation
Again, Smoker himself said he has no idea where Vergo is. And did you miss he checking on a map? People using CoO wouldn't need that to go after someone.
Besides, Smoker didn't look to be very competent with CoO, since he ended up at Cesar's room, completely missing Vergo's presence..of course, that's due to the place being huge too. Which makes it hard to sense someone, especially with chaos everywhere. -
he already has CoA… but maybe it isn't strong enough as Luffy's who wasn#t able to protect himself against Hody's bite
I know, although we haven
t see him displaying it(correct me if i am wrong). Why didn
he used it then? -
@Free:

Why haven't he used it… For the same reason he hasn't used DJ in this clash now. to A hype Vergo and show us how hard he is
If we look at this... there are dozen of panels where we can ask, why Luffy/Zoro/Sanji haven't used haki. Doesn't change the fact,t hat they have it
-
if someone takes on the fight between luffy and monet it would be awesome to be monet vs robin:ninja:
-
This chapter was epiiiiiiiiiic!!!!
Is Law gonna betray Luffy after all? that smile is so creepy,I think I know how Monet will join the crew (if it happens that is…) it will be the same way Nami and Robin joined...By defeating the one who's controlling her..Doflamingo!! -

Oda always gives funny names to attacks, just because that "kamakura" resembles a traditional Japanese iglo doesn't mean it's made out of snow. Of course it's a big possibilty but you shouldn't take it for granted.
-
Monet's bird appearance could be there to offtrack us from her real ability and actually be a result of Law's abilities… but if we consider her bird-like features as part of her powers, the thing she used to protect CC looked a lot like an egg to me.
And even though kamaksomething means "snow hut", I am pretty sure the kanjis will mean something completely different.
-

Robin is with the rest of the SH crew trying to find Momonosuke
-
I'd have trouble believing that Luffy would struggle to break an actual igloo made of snow with a Jet Gatling.

not entirely sure (I haven't actually read the raw or the chinese version) but I dont think you fully understand the concept of kanji and translation :ninja:

Yeah…i think the thing is, Zoro and Sanji don't like to "show-off" as much as Luffy.
The first time we see them actively using CoA will probably be very important, maybe as a finisher or on a dramatic pinch. -

maybe they cross ways while Luffy is trying to chase Ceasar ? then Robin or Nami could take over while others are fighting the dragon
-
or when they OHKO a pacifista :ninja:
They might have used it there, who knows…but it's arguable, since Oda didn't make a big deal out of it. Unlike with Luffy, who got a panel of Sentomaru pointing out it was Haki.
-
Didn't know what is cracking on the center-right panel here:
http://www.mangareader.net/one-piece/681/17
Chapter is moving forward nicely. I would really hate it if Law becomes a bad guy, but it would really make the story more interesting.

Yea, i guess your right. Nonetheless, it
s still stupid. He saw how powerfull Vergo is (we don
t know what he meant with his comment regarding vergos body yet) and being in his condition, he didn
t use it to protect himself.Enough with that, it
s dumb to talk about this. Let
s wait for next chapter. Is anyone else loving Caesar. His faces are superb. And he has a fucking lightsaber.

i think it is for the best. this arc is setting up big things for Law in the future. although this probably means he wont be a Shichi anymore

At first, I thought it was Vergo's leg cracking. And I was like "Oh boy… Vergo's the new Pacifista model. That's why Oda has the G-5 Marines keep on saying that he's not the real Vergo." etc. etc. He was acting very robotic in this chapter, afterall. But apparently, it's just Sanji and not Vergo.
-

Yeah, i never really liked how Oda seemed to be gradually "taming" Law after his introduction. It smelled like fangirl pandering.
Now this way he gets much more interesting. -
Law was actually interesting earlier in the arc when it was unsure if he was an enemy or not. So I'm all for him betraying the crew.
Luffy vs Ceasar was kinda fun, kinda makes me interested in how Luffy will figure out how to combat him. Monet's powers are cool but unless she fights Robin or Nami she'll be wasted opportunity.
Sanji vs Vergo…not much interest in. Sanji's fights are probably the least interesting of the entire crew. Maybe if he has his legs broken however we might see something new.
-

Wait a minute…
His body is "made of iron"... His kick was able to crack Sanji's leg... And he was able to reach the passageway before Luffy and Smoker reached the control room, and they were taking the "fastest route" at "top speed". The Pacifista theory may actually make sense, although it is hampered by the fact that the presumably real Vergo was seen leaving the control room of his own accord.
-
Awesome chapter.
I'm glad Sanji was able to hold his ground against Vergo. But as I thought, their fight will be short-lived. I'm almost offended that Monet thinks she can hold off Luffy.
The last panel: Epic -
I don't see Law betraying the SH just yet , for the plan he need CC and what ever in that room .
Plus if he was going to betray them he won't have warn them that he don't know what going to happen .
If anything it will happen after they take down the Yonko or a short while before . -
Calling it now–That room is where Vegapunk made the Dragons. Law wants the tech for himself (being a doctor after all) so he can make dragons for himself, and then switch their souls out with his crew.
He gets an army of giant dragons.
Edit: Actually, better yet, the tech that Vegapunk used to create the Dragons is based on manipulating the Dragon Dragon DF--its that technology that Law wants and that he needs Ceaser for in order to help him learn.

@CCC:
An igloo is a snow hut… it's a traditional Japanese thing.
I know that an igloo is a snow hut :)
I was asking confirmation about the translation, so now I have a new word to add to my very limited Japanese dictionary…
Thanks! -

Thanks Redon for the chapter!
Sanji has full black trousers not longitudinal striped ones (sorry for my English :-( )
Has someone found what is miok gas?
Monet has the snow devil fruit… interesting... another one (after Aokiji) related to water... waiting for steam devil fruit user :-D -
Those aren't just trousers - they're the white bones against the black of the trousers. Looks like stripes but if you look at a picture of the bones in your leg, you'll see there are two, not one.
Good chapter, I guess. I'm not a fan of fights too much, so while it was nice to see more action, I prefer the build-up chapters.
Calling it now - if Monet is a bird zoan it'd be what Articuno was based on. Or a stork, since they have no issues with snow and cold. That said, she might be a part of the Harpy race (Monet, the Harpy… smells like a racial title) with a snow/rock themed Devil Fruit.
I have a feeling that whatever Law is after is something that will help bring down the Yonkou he and Luffy are teaming up against. Maybe he doesn't trust Luffy too much, or decided to use him as a distraction for CC so he could slip away and grab said item - or maybe it's part of that self-destruction device. Chances are none of us will call it though.
Next week, cut to the kids~ XD -

maybe he's hardening his leg when he kicksany thoughts on what the darkening of Vergo's shirt sleeves could mean? DF - ability or Haki CoA?
-
I'm going to predict that the reason Oda explicitly shows us Sanji's fibula crack is because when he does use Armament Haki, Oda will show us his bones turning black and hardening.
-
Oh come on mangastrem's chapter is still not out? /:
-
I just awakened today and…Jeez, Christmas came early this year.
-
One of the things I was looking forward to this chapter were all the different faces CC would make while battling Luffy. was not disappointed
How I see it, Law is definitely going to betray the SHs, though probably not in this arc. He still has uses for them….
And Smo-yan, do something badass already. Like now. Before all the Shichibukai just stomp all over you and turn you into fodder. Hurry up with it.
-
Im pretty sure Vergo doesn't still have a devil fruit but real good control of his Tekkie
-
Nd Law will betray them when the time comes. Oda keeps foreshadowing it and Law always seems to have different motives then what he tells people. He lied to CC,Government and now Luffy. He is a coldblooded bastard. I wouldn't be surprise in 50 chapters he reveals he took lufy's heart before.
-
any thoughts on what the darkening of Vergo's shirt sleeves could mean? DF - ability or Haki CoA?
I posted my theory in the Haki thread that "darkening" of Luffy and Vergo is a special way of using Busoushoku Haki but certainly not the only way:
-
on the last page
Law: Just as planned. -
will this finally put an end to the Monet-for-SH theories :ninja:
Monet's character just got a lot more interesting. She can repel a CoA jet gatling and is linked with Dofla! I'm liking her a lot more than CC already! (though his lightsaber is amazing )
Tekkai has been confirmed for Vergo (when he's serious nothing sticks to his face)
:sad:sanji is being overpoweredLaw being awesome again!
Loved this chapter AND it came out early  life is good today
On the contrary, Monet seems more likely to become nakama now than before. If she fails (which she has to do for the story to progress) she states for Luffy that she will die. I feel like Luffy won't agree to this. And she has a fight with Luffy, whose decision it is anyway
-
I'd have trouble believing that Luffy would struggle to break an actual igloo made of snow with a Jet Gatling.
Take into account this is the series where Wax can become as hard as steel. And have you ever been hit with a snowball? Compacted snow can hurt like a bitch… Imagine that on a One Piece scale.
-
I thought Monet was just going to flock off when the fighting started and be how Doflamingo learns of what happened. Not only is she about to get a fight, she's about to fight Luffy. Color me surprised.
-
I'm liking the surprises this arc throws at us. I'd assume Monet would be weaker considering she's got a physique so similar to Nami, but she's actually fighting Luffy? WITH some weird super power? I'm impressed. I wonder what CC will do now.
I'm a little frustrated with Sanji vs Vergo right now. With that broken leg one could argue that either Sanji is overpowered, or is just struggling with a tough fight. This forum discussion will sadly last longer.
-
Law still works for Doflamingo. He's Doflamingo's apprentice; taught by the man himself, to be behind anything and everything.
-
omgawddddddddddd don't drag this out. I'm thinking he (law) wants to release all the criminals onto the new world. Also, in the panel with Sanji fighting Vergo, what is cracking when vergo kicked sanji?

How is Jinbe at an abandon G-5?
Isn't Smokers unit G-5? :wassat:

One of the bones in Sanji's leg cracked up. I'm thinking we were showed that so we will see how it's repaired with armament haki later.
