Well, they are having a pre-Labor Day marathon of the show this Friday so it's not like it's a Cartoon Network "show randomly vanishes from schedule for months despite not having any new programming to take its place" style hiatus. Disney is either airing repeats with heavy promotion or has new episodes of something else to air in its place.

That made me actually spit at my screen laughing.

Still, it got me.

Damn. Saw the Mitt Romney post and then scrolled down to be disappointed.
Oh well.

…Well played, Alex Hirsch

It was obviously a prank since that two dimensional drawing showed way too much character and personality to ever be Mitt Romney.

Episode Synopses for 10 and 11
! ”Fight Fighters” – After being challenged to a video game battle by Wendy’s boyfriend Robbie, Dipper is shocked when his favorite playable fighter, Rumble McSkirmish, comes to life to defend him. But Dipper soon loses control over Rumble McSkirmish and has to find a way to stop him in a new episode of “Gravity Falls,” premiering FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 (9:30 – 10:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
! ”Little Dipper” – Dipper feels self-conscious that Mabel is taller than him and is becoming the alpha twin, so he seeks out a magic way to grow himself the same height. Meanwhile, Lil’ Gideon takes advantage of Dipper’s and Mabel’s height discrepancies in a new episode of “Gravity Falls,” premiering FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28 (9:30 – 10:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. -
Both of those synopses sound awesome, and I await the episodes with bated breath…

!I am cracking up so hard right now.
-
Ok…....this show is awesome.
-
Oh man, I really hope there'll be an episode with wolpertingers in it. 'cause, you see, they're Bavarian folklore and I'm very patriotic.
They're in the opening (twice!), so … do it!
-
Aren't those jackelopes?
-
-
Aren't those jackelopes?
Yes, most likelyI mean NO. The wolpertinger was here first, the jackalope is just an imitator!
Actually, I don't know which one came first. Wolpertinger, Jackalope, Skvader … it's all the same thing, basically. -
! It's nice to see Robbie is still Wendy's boyfriend. Ater the ending of Ep. 9, I was a bit worried they'd use that as an easy way out of that.
-
Episode 10 is online. You should find it with no trouble searching the "fight fighters" tag on Tumblr.
Downloading now. Be mindful of spoilers, guys. Spoiler Tags until Friday please.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Also just verified on demand, Episode 12 will air on October 5th and is the
! Summerween episode
! SORRY, DIPPER, YOUR WENDY IS IN ANOTHER CASTLE.
! I am dead. Dying. Oh my god, this episode. -
First five minutes and it's all full off winning lines already:
! 'A frog taught me how to cross the street'
'Boys. Why can't you guys just hate each other in secret? Like girls do?' -
! Why you ackin' so cray-cray?
! Man, this episode is a freaking joy start to finish. The references and jokes fire on every cylinder. My only problem with it is that it's once again a full-on Dipper episode, the third in five episodes, and next week looks to be the fourth in six. It's a little disappointing that Mabel's kind of staying out of the paranormal storylines so much. :I -

! I was at bit worried that once we reached the 'Grunkle Stan fear of heights' subplot we'd get something like "Dipper vs. Manliness", thankfully not the case here.
! Also interesting to see how Dipper and Robby's relationship in the future since they're now beginning to have a Cold-War pact, kind of unique to me. Anyone else in animation having this kind of relationship?
! Also I think every episode starting from this one could just have one scene with Waddles and it will immediately be a great episode
! EDIT:
THAT CHINESE CHARACTER.
IT LITERALLT MEANS FAECES (or farting).
HOLY SHIT (pun fully intended) -
Yesss, it feels like it's been forever since the last episode.
! This episode was so good. The best parts were Dipper's "noodle arms", Rumble standing as still as he could, the fight at the end, and the credits scene. It was also great to see Waddles again. I was a bit worried he would only be in one episode and then be forgotten.
-
Another great episode!
! "FIREBALL! UPPER CUT! DOWNER CUT! BOWL OF PUNCH!"
! As a fighting game fan, I absolutely loved all the Street Fighter references and homages in this ep, with Rumble McSkirmish's design as an amalgamation of Ryu/Ken/Sagat being chief among them, which I thought was hilarious. The names of some of the other characters on the select screen were great as well - Czar-barian, Joe Zambique, Admiral Big Calves, Beastor, Dr. Karate (with his Guile flat top, lol). And Brian Bloom did a wonderful job with his role as Rumble; you could tell he was having fun with the character ("MAXIMUM POW-WER?!"). It was such a treat.
! Also.

! I love Dipper, but I agree with you. I just think the twins are so wonderfully well-balanced with each other that it bums me out juuuuust a little when one of them doesn't get their share of the screen time. We're due for a few Mabel-centric episodes soon, if ya ask me.
-
! So much great stuff in that episode :D
! - "Stay perfectly still!"- "This street has really dangerous litter."
- Soos trying to tamper with the hp bar
- Mabel's sweater
- The return of the muffin explosion cloud … man, I just love that this show cares about continuity.
! But they got the secretly hating thing all wrong.
You don't openly hate each other when no one else is looking.
You can't ever let the other person actually SEE that you hate them. That would mean that you acknowledge that whatever it is they're doing is getting to you, and we can't have that. You have to be really nice to them all the time and sabotage them in secret. It involves a lot of elaborate planning and tricks and stuff.
Both of you know that the other one hates you as much as you hate them, both of you know that you sabotage each other whenever you can, but you still have to keep the charade going at all times. You might even go out of your way to be nice to the other person, even when no one else is looking.
! When the time comes and things explode in a mess of blood and petty insults, the whole "hating each other in secret" thing will never work again. Not that either would ever try it in the first place; it's just over for good.
From then on, you will avoid each other the best you can. Maybe a despiteful glare every once in a while, but that's it.
Of course you can also go into a full-fledged war, but I've only ever seen that once. You'd need some really intense hate for that, and usually someone just doesn't have the engery to continue sooner or later, so it reverts back to the ignoring stage and silent hate.
! THAT'S how girls do it. -
Great episode.
! I just loved all the poking fun at video games, and Soos had a lot of great lines.
! Robbie is such a petty douchebag though. Picking a fight with a 12-year-old? Really?@Nia:

-
! I pretty much lost it at "Bonus Round"
! Greatest episode ever. -
! probably one of my favorite episodes. Only sad because of lack of Mabel involvement.
Oh and…
! watch out Robbie
! -
that is amazing and you are amazing for posting that
-
Oh that just killed me.
-
TOO MUCH FUCKING SHIT TO QUOTE AND REFERENCE!!
My GOD what an episode!!
Fuck it I'll try anyway:
[hide]
Frogger
Pac Man
Dance Dance
Attacking the Ref
Donkey Kong
Final Fight and Arcade Sidescroller games in general
Mabel's sweater
Mabel sneaking up behind her Grunkle Stan
Rumble's voice
Mabel aware of the awesomeness of his voice and having him say stupid shit to make it more awesome
Soos trying to get into a video game
GAME OVER
The Cold War Pact
Stan's Cocky Dance
No looking up animation
Health Bars
Waddles
'Choose Your Character' has never been read more intimidating when the Ultimate Power was unlocked
[/hide]
That should cover it. -
! Hmm, they're making Robbie a little too easy to hate imo. Want a bit more ambiguity.
! Also where's the continuity on Dipper's manliness training!? They can keep him wimpy but a little glimmer of the prowess from that episode wouldn't hurt.
! They seem to have carried over Waddles… So I'm still waiting on the grappling hook to save the day!
! Solid stuff. All of the episodes have been either above average or great. Now I'm just hoping for a Soos or Grunckle Stan centric episode. -
[hide]DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THAT I HAVE PUNCHES!
Great stuff as usual. This series has set a difficult par, but it's been scoring eagle quite consistently. I really love how the show actually has continuity. From property damage to character growth and relationships, all we need is for the overarching plot to kick back in and this series will transcend. Until then, I'm having a blast with the show's wit, charm and humor.[/hide]
-
One really great background detail was
! The revelation that the giant bearded lumberjack man is Wendy's father. That's a cool connection.
-
! Eating my friends om nom nom
-
Watched it, even though I was increabily busy and avoiding most the internet inclding Tumblr so I won't be spoiled on anything.
sigh
Nowhere is safe. Not as good as the last episode in terms of plot, but it was certianly the most fun episode. There was just so many references to all the things I know and love.
-
Oh by the way, did anyone catch the encoded message at the end credits?
! Sorry, Dipper, but your Wendy is in another castle
-
Oh by the way, did anyone catch the encoded message at the end credits?
! Sorry, Dipper, but your Wendy is in another castle
! Yup, in my first post. ^^
! Now that I've settled down, I think this episode is one of the best simply for the sheer amount of references it contains. My only gripes that prevent it from trouncing better episodes like The Inconveniencing and Time Traveler's Pig is, one, the continued downplaying of Mabel, and 2, the modular nature of the episode. I do expect that in future episodes, the tower will be leaning and I imagine that Dipper and Robbie's relationship will continue on the current course, but it doesn't really explore any overarching themes just yet. That's not to say it HAS to, but if felt more standalone than the usual standalone episodes.
! I'm a little wary of Episode 11 because it's the second episode (first was Dipper vs. Manliness) without Alex Hirsch on writing credits, and seeing how the first one was easily one of the lesser episodes thus far (which is still pretty damn good of course), I think it might be fair to assume it will be a peg lower than the last few consistently great episodes. -
Everyone's already covered all the bases, so I'll just say that I really enjoyed this episode…
-
I love your sig and ava combo.
-
Thanks, Gueta. I figured it was about time I paid homage to my favorite character and (screen)namesake.
Oh, and even though Mabel's role in this episode was more in the background, she still had some great lines and moments (like her insight on girl hatred and lying to Grunkle Stan)…
