Luffy went after CC alone. Law is gonna do something else. And most probably, Robin will follow him.
Law needs his heart.

My guess is that by having the Jinbe cover story is that it will be a better transition for him to come across the Strawhats again if we see him leaving the island now.
Maybe he just gonna thrown him at the Sea Kings or something like that.
I wonder why Mangastream's translation is taking so long. Normally they'd have it out several hours ago.
@400MillionBelis:
Just checked something - Robin is with Luffy and Law, who aim for Caesar! Yay! Is this really gonna be her second one on one after years? With her first one being a cop out?
So:
Luffy (and probably Law) vs. Caesar
Robin vs. Monet
Smoker vs. VergoZoro, Sanji, Nami, Usopp and Brook are going to help the kids, with Kinemon trying to find his son. I'm betting at least two of them are going against the Yeti Cool Brothers.
Tashigi will round up G-5 and (passively) help the Straw Hats in getting the kids.Franky is at the ship. Possibly could fight the Yeti Cool Brothers. Or making an escape route.
And Chopper is probably looking for the children, or is with them.
There would be no point in robin fighting monet if law is with them and already has monet's heart
i liked the chapter. the drawings/panels/spread are just too awesome.
Oda is impredictable when things haven't been set up. Like a surprise outisde twist. or something stupid and inconsecuential.
unpredictable*
Robin Leaving the crew, Usopp's issues, Nami's betrayal, the timeskip, all of those required serious buildup and weren't unpredictable by a longshot, it wasn't a matter of "If" but "When".
First two were fairly predictable, although Usopp's only in the short term, but neither were certain. Similarly with the timeskip. Nami's betrayal was a big "probably" though.
Shirahoshi being Poseidon was almost spelled out since the flashback and we just didn't put it together until after the reveal.
Not really? There wasn't all that much reason to think her power was the power carried by Poseidon, especially since the only other Ancient Weapon we knew the nature of was a ship.
Doflamingo was bound to have a conspiracy and a lot of EVIL contacts, we didn't knew that it was going to be this one.
Whitebeard and Ace were at least one of them going to die, for the setup of the war to pay off enough.
First isn't really significant. The second wasn;t exactly obvious what with Oda rarely killing characters off even after making it seem like they really are going to die (Pell?).
Things like Kuma's apareances that seem like something completely out of the blue, make perfect sense in hindsight.
One Piece Isn't trully random, It's well set up, and if it doesn't make sense now, it will in hindsight.
My only grievance is that most of the time the Strawhats don't kickstart the plot of the island, but arrive just in the nick of time, it's anoying.
Of course it seems well set up and obvious in hindsight, otherwise it would be badly written, because it would really be like he was pulling everything out of the blue. But it's not like when the Laboon arc ended, everyone was going, "yup, someone from that crew will join the SHs."
That said, I don't see either of the alliances, especially Lawffy, going after anyone but Big Mum, on the grounds that it has been foreshadowed, and that if it was Shanks, Luffy would have probably opposed Law there and then (like Ace with Blackbeard, kind of), if it was Blackbeard, it would feel way too weird, seeing as Luffy already effectively declared war on Big Mum, and Blackbeard seems to have been set up as a much later opponent entwined with the whole 'Will of D' thing, considering events in Mock Town, Impel Down and Marineford. And if it was Kaidou, that would just be ridiculous for many of the same reasons . . .
Maybe he just gonna thrown him at the Sea Kings or something like that.

Caribou's Kehihihi in the New World vol. 5: Fishman Karate - Diversion! (Caribou is sent flying in-barrel into the sea in the middle of a group of Sea Kings)
Still betting we will see Wadatsumi.
Look, I personally think it is Blackbeard that Luffy and Law will be after; Law saw what Teach was capable of for himself, and it's clear Luffy will be pitted against him at some point. It's also interesting that up to now we've seen his reaction to hearing of Akainu, but was conveniently distracted when Teach was brought up, so we don't yet know how he'll react.
However, I also don't think they'll be going after Teach right after this arc is done. The fact that Big Mom will mostly likely be after Luffy's blood by around that point, as well as Jinbe and his crew possibly being in danger, is one thing. For another, we don't know what this "key" to defeating an Emperor that Law needs is, whether it's an item or information. It's possible they may have to take separate routes from PH and arrange to meet up later, and that defeating this Emperor is a long-term goal rather than taking action right away.
But seriously, the wind blocking the Emperor's name is important in that the future reveal will be meant to be surprising. To me, that either means Blackbeard, who we wouldn't expect to be directly targeted until later on, or Kaidou who we've had next to no info about. Big Mom is wholly expected and imminent, and Shanks, as said, is definitely not someone Luffy wants to take down, especially with outside help.
I think it's way too soon for Blackbeard. No way they could take out bb without their dfs right now. Big ma'am is most likely considering the foreshadowing, but it being kaido would be a great way for luffy to come back taking on two emporers at the same time

Which is why he'd be the least expected. But as I explained, if it is him, it's not like they'd be fighting him right after this arc.

Luffy will react the same way he reacted when he ran into the fatass in Impel Down: pissed…
So Luffy naming an attack confirms that the word UFO exists in the One Piece world. We've known aliens exist for a number of years now, but that's showing at least some people in the One Piece world also believe there to be aliens. It's sorta assuming a lot, but Oda actively chose the word UFO and not any of the many other words he could have chosen, so it's sorta going towards the whole world building.
One question, if Law's heart is kept in the facility, can't he just use room to take it back?
Since it seems he can't, CC may know a way to disrupt Law's room.
1- glad that Smoker is taking care of Virgo, it would not be as good if Luffy had to, because it would be haki vs haki and we will see this later I hope, the later the better.
2- The fact that Zoro reminds Luffy that he has to be serious now, and Luffy replying with confidence, makes me think that Luffy already has some crazy solution to manage CC and his oxygen trick…
Vergo's ability is most likely not Haki related.
http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/672/4 Here you can see that when he uses his ability, his clothes and weapon darken.
http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/667/10 However, on this page when Luffy uses his Haki, his clothes don't change color.
Plus we've seen countless characters using Haki (Shanks, Whitebeard, Rayleigh, Hancock, Marigold, Sentomaru, Marco, etc.) and they never had their body, clothes or weapons change color. I think it is something exclusive to Luffy, because his body undergoes vulcanization when he uses Busoshoku.
P.S.: not saying that Vergo doesn't have Haki - he most likely does, considering he is a Vice Admiral. But I definitely think that his Haki is not the cause for the color change of his clothes and weapon.

You do realize UFO just means unidentified flying object, right? That means anything in the air that can't be identified. The military calls them bogeys. It doesn't have to mean the 1950's flying saucer, although that's what Luffy's attack is mimicking. Technically, UFO can mean anything from rogue aircraft to weather balloons.
I prefer to have a bad day than becoming blind by stupidity and fanatism. In this chapter nothing happened (and all the fans must be honest), and i don't know what is happening with Oda with this arc but in terms of narration and pace is one of the weakest arcs. Let's be honest, i don't feel the "intensity" of the first arc in the new world (an arc that we waited for so long). Maybe it's soon i don't know, but Oda is repeating the same chapter with no progression. 3 chapters to run from a slim? what is this Captain Tsubasa? 2 chapters to move 2 meters and say 3 new words? 2 chapters seen Caesar talking? Come on Oda you can do better :D
you should be the one that should be honest with yourself, lots of things happened in this chapter. Just because some of them are predictable (such as someone patching up the doors, sanji n nami switching back) doesnt mean Oda can just ignore them and assume everyone would think the same thing
some say that the 3 pages of no dialogue was not needed, but I think it was ok as it was just there to show the extent of how dangerous the weapon Caesar was broadcasting to the world actually was. and also to show that the den den mushi is not affected by the gas so that the other brokers still can actually see what is going on in the island

Though we can unanimously agree that it's based on flying saucer usually connected with otherworldly races.
Oda fortunately never changes his story just so he can be most shocking or surprising, so to assume that the Emperor Luffy and Law are after is Blackbeard just because it would be the most surprising is wrong from my point of view. Of course in the end it could be Blackbeard but it seems rather unlikely since him and his crew have been build uo as one-on-one opponents for the SHs, Law and his crew´s involvement is rather unwanted.
Honestly, at this point there are arguments against every Emperor:
Shanks: I agree that Luffy would have laughed if Shanks was the one Law suggested to go after but he certainly wouldn´t have agreed to an alliance to take him down. Luffy is the most honest character not only in OP but in every manga i´ve read so far, he just would have declined because of Shanks being his friend.
Kaidou: Could very well be possible, too, but i highly doubt that Luffy even knows the name Kaidou at this point. So, him laughing after hearing the name of the Emperor doesn´t make sense.
Big Mom: Like others already stated, why would Oda hide the name if it was as obvious as BM? I think the reason or rather the importance for hiding the name at this point isn´t the name of the Emperor itself but rather the information we would get about that Emperor. I assume that after having kidnapped CC for Law´s plan Law will reveal how the "key" will take advantage of a weakness of one of the Yonkou, so knowing that weakness while also knowing which Emperor it is could reveal very early on what kind of power this Emperor has, and that would be a bit anticlimactic.
I prefer to have a bad day than becoming blind by stupidity and fanatism.
So just because some of us called this chapter good we're nothing but a bunch of lying fanboys? That's cool.
In this chapter nothing happened
Nothing? As in zero? The characters just froze in their places and stared at each other for 17 pages?
And I thought you were honest.
and i don't know what is happening with Oda with this arc but in terms of narration and pace isone of the weakest arcs.
You clearly haven't read earlier OP chapters where the pacing is almost the same as this arc's, save for a few chapters.

Not even going to bother with this one.
Awesome chapter here, for sure. Luffy's UFO attack kicked ass. Looks like the usual Oda-style "dash to the finish" for this arc, but I never get tired of it. My only question is where Franky ran off to. He said he was going to Sunny, but with all that gas outside…
Now I have to wonder what Smoker and Tashigi's role in this alliance will be. By that, I mean I wonder if Smoker will really keep his promise to lay off or if he will become involved somehow later down the line.
Regardless, I'd like to know how you came up with such a theory since, to me, it's simply kind of a big leap in logic to make. We don't even have any indication as to why Kid, Apoo and Hawkins are making their alliance; it could be to take down an emperor like Law and Luffy, or it could be for some totally different reason.
My theory is based of alot of post on this forum, and i know that it is one of the biggest logic leaps One Piece have ever taken. But i think its a little weird that the Kid, Apoo and Hawkins alliance was shown in the middle of an arc if they aint gonna have anything to do with the next events.

Shanks and Whitebeard were shown ages before they showed up at Marineford - it could be they are coming or it could be what Oda is really good at which is having events happening parallel to what the SH's are doing only to be explained later.

Oops i forgot about the hole Whitebeard and Shanks thing.
Phew, am I glad that Jinbei's taking care of that nut Caribou. I think he has sea stone wrapped around him, that's why he can't get out of the barrel maybe, that's just my PoV.

Now to wait for an even better translation :P

EDIT: The chapter was tons better when things made more sense. Some still are a bit weird, but at least I can admit the chapter is better with a decent translation.
So we have five main opponents: Caesar, Monet, Vergo, Rock, and Scotch.
The teams/people are:
1. Luffy, Robin, and Law
2. Smoker
3. Tashigi and G-5
4. Franky
5. Chopper
6. Kinemon, Zoro, Nami, Sanji, Usopp and Brook
7. Brownbeard
Luffy's team is going attack Caesar, while Law does something about his heart and the lab.
Smoker is going for Vergo
Tashigi is going to look for the children, and G-5 will probably look for door R-66
Franky is probably getting the Sunny safely out of the gases' way
Chopper…is probably already with the children.
With the Kinemon's group splitting up...I'm betting it'll be Kinemon, Zoro, and Brook looking for Momonosuke (with the latter two tagging along); Nami, Usopp, and Sanji will meet up with Chopper and the kids.
Brownbeard is likely going to collect his men.
Uhh so many people yet only five main opponents!

It's the new world, no punches must be pulled.
Any translation would be better than the crap Mangastream put out this week. Obnoxiously bad with no flow.
Even first translation made a lot more sense than mangastream. It feels like they thought about their own lines instead of translating.

Huh. Maybe because I read translations taking into account what made sense in other translations. Things make more sense to me that way.

Cause there are completely different lines in mangastream. Law's plan and Smoker's reasoning for example. Besides some lines are just..weirdly constructed IMHO.
My review for this chapter is now up~ You can find it HERE or HERE.
I love how others don't get Law's name right. He never corrects them, but you can tell he notices by his put-apon expression. XD
Also, I loved the whole "No! No!" thing Sanji was doing before they were switched back to their own bodies. XD
It was also sweet to see Usopp and Zoro catching each other up on what happened while they were split up. You don't see those two interact as much as the others do, and it's nice to see.
Luffy… you have become a Loony Toon character. XD
Always great panel-by-panel reviews, thanks!
the chapter as in most of this arc has been a disappointment, this entire arc belongs to law, if i didnt know better, i would say law is the main character of the manga. luffy has looked like the comic relieve character, he's the usopp in this arc
I have a feeling that smoker is gonna lose his life against Vergo, so Coby is gonna be the next smoker.
From this page:! http://img.mangastream.com/m/51/40339836/91215965dfb5f9fbddc5eb0f5d7dfa10.png
I think that smoker is already dead.Zoro saying "Stop ****ing around! From here on out it's the new world!" was showing that he is the best. :ninja:
About the UFO, I wonder how long he can fly? Until his legs are tired? I think this because it looks like he will go ahead by flying.Zoro and Ussop talking, I thought that was the first time they talk. :ninja:
I had a similar feeling that something bad is gonna happen to Smoker (Vergo might have the upper hand with his heart). He might end up being capured, badly injured, presumed dead. He is talking to Tashigi as if he is not gonna see her for a while…
I wonder what Tashigi would do if she thinks he is dead.

He's like a wind up toy, so when he totally unwinds, his legs won't spin anymore and he'll stop (but then he can just use it again . . .)
Where franky I forgot!?
Zoro: DONT BE RECKLESS, THE NEW WORLD STARTS HERE!!
Luffy: Screw you. GOMU GOMU NO UFOOOOOOO DAHAHAHAHAHA.

Exactly. In my opinion this wasn't a "first mate" move from Zoro, but a "I do whatever the fuck I want" captain move from Luffy.

He wants to do something with the Sunny.
http://mangastream.com/read/one_piece/40339836/11 I don't know why, but seeing Kinemon being treated as a Straw Hat in that top panel just gives me a strong feeling that Oda will make him the next nakama.

That's a good observation, but I can't imagine him dying.. just no. Right? Too many people would die if that's the case. Ace, Whitebeard (Sabo:ninja:), Smoker

It'd be pretty dramatic if Kinemon's son ended up dying in this arc, possibly to save his dad or something.
Then he'd have a good reason to join the strawhats. Or should I say….stray-hats.
Calling it, Brown Beard for Nakama.

I definitely agree, Kinemon is just awesome but i fear that he will be another Paulie.
I can´t spot anything there.

How can you even consider Paulie in the same league as Kinemon?
The guy was never really with the Strawhats during the CP9 arc and he certainly didnt have that same dynamic that Kinemon shares with the whole crew ever since he met them. He's getting a lot more development as a character than Paulie ever did.
The way Kinemon fights together with the Strawhats and getting to show off his abilities reminds me more of what Franky did during that arc. Actively helping out and conversing with the crew.

I don´t know if you are reading since Water 7 or if you started reading later but most of the readers back then pretty much shipped Paulie as the new crewmate and most of them preferred him over Franky (including me). Especially this situation made it very likely to me back then that Paulie would join (http://www.mangareader.net/103-2452-11/one-piece/chapter-345.html). Of course, Enies Lobby arc, in particular Franky fighting alongside the SHs destroyed that illusion. That´s why i said Kinemon could become another Paulie. Everything right now points to Kinemon but the appearance of his son could easily destroy that illusion as well.
I definitely agree, Kinemon is just awesome but i fear that he will be another Paulie.
I can´t spot anything there.
I doN't even think he will join. He is just too awesome and too much of a personality for the SHs :ninja:
