It's strange that no one noticed that both of Killer's hands have been destroyed. On http://www.mangahere.com/manga/one_piece/v60/c677/2.html you can clearly see that his right hand is robotic and on http://www.mangahere.com/manga/one_piece/v60/c677/5.html you see his both robotic hands. Maybe Kidd and killer fought an emperor who has some problem with arms :ninja: Shanks
Or it could be some sort of gloves/bracers to hold his swords?!?!?!? not convinced they are robotic

Look at Luffy and Kidd pre-time skip. Look at all the insane stuff luffy did.
LUFFY-Beat the strongest man in east blue, take out warlord, recruit the demon child with knowledge almost no one else in THE WORLD has, stormed Enies lobby, defeated Cp9.
KIDD- Killed a lot of people, some of whom might have been prominent. (I assume, that's not stated anywhere)Kids bounty was higher for accomplishing much less. Now you may be thinking "yeah but bounties are about threat" and that's true, which is why kids is higher. he's much more dangerous because he could just snap and start killing innocent civillians at a moments notice. However if you are a WG employee who do you think gets talked about more at the water cooler? Who do you think pirates want to meet? Who do you think makesthe newspaper headlines more? The guy who beat a warlord, stormed enies lobby and fought in the whitebeard war or a guy who is dangerous but nothing really juicy to talk about, gossip if you will.
We heard that Kid, Law, Drake and Hawkins have been "causing a sir" or something like that and that may be because they have been going around taking over territory, defeating warlords, or attacking the Government. Meanwhile Apoo may have been doing more "run of the mill" pirate things like a little pillaging there and a battle here but then when he comes up against Marine forces or enemy Pirate crews with notable fighters, he utterly wrecks there shit. I can see a person gaining bounty steadily from that but the general populace not having much to say about them because it's "normal" or "uninteresting" behavior.
Well you're assuming kid didn't do any shit similar to Luffy's, but we'll not know. He might have done something worse, the fact that we dont know yet you can't assume it hasn't been done. And I doubt someone will gain a bounty of more than 200 with just doing boring stuff like pillaging etc. Its likely that all of them has caused a major upstair in one way or the other!
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
So, all the counter attack should be a shadow blitzkrieg, as Law and Smoker are dead men as soon as Virgo and CC discover they escaped !?
PS: I like how Zoro is letting the samurai play big, until the moment he will finally enter in action and the samourai will be like "WTF !?" :-D
I so do hope so tihihihi

Fun chapter.
- Lol, Caribou's cover story came to quite an abrupt ending. Being only 3 covers reminds me of the crew cover stories during the war, which were 2 each. Maybe this will follow a similar path and jump from character to character for short sequences.
The coverstory is not over yet… it only says 'Volume 3 - In The End Kehihihi' as in; in the end he didn't get to steal/keep the mermaids' , now he will focus on something else and possibly meet with VDD, or his Peer (that he need report too) and possibly try to kidnap Shirahoshi... Well anything can happen as this cover story is about Caribou
-
"caribou making peace with the kraken". sweet talking him and stuff so he doesn't get eaten.

At least Kidd had the balls to go to NW without chicken out and training for 2 years unlike your favourite character.
Well the thing is, since the Straw Hats are the protagonists of the story, they absolutely had to go under a two year training in order to justify their survival later on.
What I mean is that I'm pretty sure that if the crew had gone to the New World without training, guys like Luffy, Zoro and Sanji could have survived with more or less difficulty (maybe at the cost of a few limbs and scars). But what about the weakest members of the crew?
The first difference (plot wise) between the Kid Pirates and the Straw Hats is that it doesn't really matter if a random guy from Kid's crew dies (considering how full of scars Kid is, I'm pretty sure that it's safe to assume that a lot worse happened to other crewmembers and some of them didn't survive). But in the Straw Hats case, it wouldn't be ok if Usopp or Nami died, because they are the protagonists.
The second difference is that because the Straw Hats are the main focus of the story, they basically lack a lot of knowledge (or in Robin's case, they don't share it), meaning that we (readers) learn stuff at the same time the crew does. The plot actually holds back the growth of the Straw Hats (like them not knowing about haki because we, as readers, also didn't know about it) because every power or knowledge growth they may have must be justified, whereas in Kid's case, for example, it doesn't really matter how he knew about haki before or how he learned to use it.

I detailed on an earlier post what I thought about this.
You're right, but there are more points. After the war :
- Luffy had shown that he's got the Haoushuku Haki. Right at that moment, he became a threat, and the navy would have wanted to kill him as soon as possible, before he learned haki.
- Luffy was shown as the son of Dragon. Not something common. Something that made him even more important to capture.
- He was on the verge of losing his crew a while ago. He just lost his brother. When Rayleigh told him that he could train with him, it seemed really obvious that he couldn't refuse.

I see, thank you.
Still hoping that the scene isn't so humiliating with proper translation. Smoker is a joke so far, really saddening. I mean Oda showed us time and time again that Shichibukai > VA, but come on…it is Smoker.
I don't really think the talk between Smoker and Tashigi was out of character or made Smoker look bad.
When Tashigi "begged" Law to remove their chains, Smoker scolded her, saying that it was shameful to ask mercy from a pirate. But Tashigi told him that at that moment they had to swallow their pride so that they could save the other marines and also fight Vergo and expose his true identity to the rest of the world.
Smoker understood that in that moment that was more important than trying to capture Luffy or Law, so he decided to cooperate with them, at least until everyone is safe and Vergo is caught.
Smoker loosing to Law is something which I don't really mind either… First because Law's fruit allows him to overwhelm opponents really fast, especially if they are caught off guard. It's one of those fruits that can take you out at the slightest distraction. And second because it would be weird if a Vice Admiral could win against a Shichibukai... That would mean that the World Government wouldn't actually need them.

Zoro meeting Tashigi (Love at first sight this time?)Why would Law get fked up? He defeated the samurai before. At the very least they'll be on par with each other since he knows how Law's power works but not to the point of thrashing him.

Yeah, Killer seems to be really interesting, seeing his intelligence. But, this is not the first time that we can see him using his brain : we could also see this when he explained to Kidd the meaning of Luffy knocking the Ox Bell.
I think he is the most intelligent pirate among the Supernova and kind of makes me think of Ben Beckman, even though his fighting style is different.About bounties. I was surprised by Hawkin's one (i've got to admit that Urouge post made me notice it). But, I guess he isn't the kind that would do careless things, like Kid or even Apoo. But, it remains that, for now, he is the Supernova whose bounty had increased the less (excluding Zoro). For him, 71M berries, when he was amoung the most wanted ones…
And, the formation made of Smoker, Law, and Luffy really looks great ! Those 3 look pretty strong, and they surely are together. Knowing the power of the enemy, we know that the most serious oponents are Caesar and Vergo. Monet may be dangerous as well, but that doesn't change much things.
It's a 3 vs Luffy, Zoro, Law, Smoker, (Kinemon ?), Tashigi. At least. I think that Law will not fight, at the beginning, as Virgo's got his heart. But, Sanji could get his body back, and there would be another strong fighter in the place. This way, the result seems pretty obvious, even though Caesar power is really something, and that Vergo mustn't be some shitty opponent. We're at least in a 3 vs 6, and the Slime doesn't change much thing, IMO.
Killer's was raised by only 38M but he wasn't one of the most wanted, and he's not a captain, so I guess that doesn't matter. :P
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
odas perspective mishaps aren't anything new really what you should be surprised about is how long it's been since he's done it
It doesn't seem weird to me at all. She's in the background, what's the problem?
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
You're right. It's still funny to see. When was the last time? Marineford with the Shichibukai or the seakings at Fishman Island?
Read reply to Marcelle. She's in the background. Further behind Robin. At least that's how I see it.
-
I was saying in general that it's not new that he does it from time to time
-
This is pretty baseless, but I think Urouge and Capone are currently working for Blackbeard. Those two also came off as two of the weaker Supernovae to me, so it really wouldn't surprise me if they've gone under a Yonkou's wing. Same with Crocodile and Daz Bones. So we'll see them the next time we see Blackbeard…
I hope that's not based off of bounties alone, because I thought Urouge was rather badass.:ninja:
-
Urouge was okay, but he was rather one-dimensional. I also think that the absent Supernovae are absent for actual reasons, and that we've covered all the independent 'Novae. The remaining members are probably allied with Yonkō, and perhaps one has become a Shichibukai like Law.
-
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems Hawkins is making his cards levitate. Before her would place them on something that looked like wires. He must have unlocked some new abilities with his voodoo fruit.
Edit: Never mind he could always do that.
-
Killer spent his two years in the gym and drinking protein shakes through a straw. True story.

Not to mention grooming that clean cut beard of his

Ha I love Sanji's power up move XD

I will rewrite my favorite predictions for this arc.
short term predictions: - Sanji will be punished for the use of grope power, or at least he is going to pay with a huge amount of belis.
-
Frankie has a Coup the Boo from his weenie. Reason: Having one from his butt it would be pointless not to have one from his weenie, given that he can point much better with it. Medium term predictions - Someone else, different of Strawhuts pirates, is allied with Law in Punk Hazard. That person knew about normal chains located by Law in the lab, and threw the paper to Chopper.
-
Wergo will be defeated in Punk Hazard.
-
Momonosuke is in Dress Rosa with Doflamingo. Kinemon wil join Strahuts while he gets back his son.
Very long term prediction: - Monet is the important key of Punk Hazard. She is very important for a Yonkou, and Law wants to use her to trigger an energic reaction from him/her, one that will turn the new word into a caos.
Just my favorite ones. (I'm not saying those are true).

On top of that I never expected them all to stay in the same ranking in terms of bounty. When Oda introduced the supernovas it was one of the greatest things to happen to the manga. He threw a bunch of people like luffy in the pot and stirred it. Then waited two years. In that time people were bound to grow or weaken in strength, crews were bound to change, I won't be suprised if one or two supernova's are dead. When you introduced 9 new characters like that and give them 2 years I expect developments like this to happen otherwise it's boring storytelling. I'd be reminded of the rookie 9 in Naruto who started off like the supernova but after the 2 years time skip didn't change at all. And it was flabbergastingly bad storytelling. That's why I don't find it Odd Apoo's bounty surpassed Hawkins.
You've convinced me. I commented about how odd it was (although I didn't mind) but I too am happy that it happened when I think about it the way you have.
-
What do you think about Smoker's character development?
If even after Punk Hazard Smoker keeps blabbering about Luffy as a mere Evil Pirate, I will be disappointed at Oda.
After seeing war and dealing with the New World he should understand some things. Like wanted to being free without any boredome isn't the same as being Evil.
Like Smoker stated, change needing Marines. And yes Zoro is first mate and that guy is Rob Lucci.

as weird as it sounds, is there even a small small chance that smoker will temporary quit the marines? due his anger agains Vergo?, also does anyone know how Smoker thinks about Akainu? are they on the same level of justice?, i know alot of people say that smoker is luffys ''garp'' as garp was of roger. also any theories of smokers future? i think if we are near the end of one piece, and luffy is pirate king the biggest war will occur. ( revolutionairies vs WG ) and my guess is that luffy faces of Akainu and at the edge of losing Garp shows up and does a '' i take you down with me'' sacrifice. and Smoker will be up for Fleet admiral ? and i also tought that maybe luffy finds shanks and blackbeard in battle, luffy comes near and sees a near to death shanks? luffy enraged and after a long battle kills blackbeard? then becoming Yonko replacing blackbeard? or will luffy become Yonko when he defeats Big mom? theories please :D

Smoker won't quit the marines. He is well aware that there is corruption and people with different ideas from his in the marines, but that is no reason for him to quit. He will just continue doing things his way, like he always has;
-
If Luffy becomes a Yonko, it will only be when he takes one of them down on his own. If he does it with Law's help, for example, neither of them will become Yonkos, because individually they are not strong enough, and together they don't form an official crew. Luffy becoming a Yonko is also pointless, because when he becomes the Pirate King he will be the only emperor and control all of the Grand Line, thus there will be no more Yonko;
-
All of the other things you said are huge cliches so I don't think Oda will go that way, at least not the way you described it!

I respect Smoker's attempt to carry out his justice while in the Marine. I would be very disappointed if he left or something like that >_>

Well, I think it is certain that Akainu will be killed / lands in Impel Down by the end of the series. Now the only Marines I could see stepping up are
- Aokiji
- Smoker
All the other high ranking marines either share Akainu's view or they are simply not developed enough.
Now I think that Smoker isn't really after the Fleet Admiral position. I can see him as an Admiral at the end, with Aokiji returning and taking over.As for Smoker's current development, well my picture of Luffy's nemesis is as good as shattered. At this point he doesn't seem to be a threat to any of the big names. I know it isn't the first time that a VA got toyed with by a Shichibkukai (see Doflamingo, Hancock), but I always thought Smoker is an exception and that his rank will never really reflect his strength (due to his behaviour).
But that isn't the case, sadly. No matter how you look at it, he got defeated by Law, fair and square. He wasn't ambushed / surprised by it like Sanji and Franky, and he perfectly knew how Law's devil fruit works. He even acted like the all-knowing smartass on how to tackle his ability. But then he gets oneshotted just like that.!
! Somehow reminds me of that bad "I got your nose" meme.I'm starting to think that "Garp cornering Roger several times" might be just that, Garp seriously confronting Roger when he started his journey, but just hopelessly chasing after him at a certain point.
In any case, I hope Smoker kicks some ass, now that he isn't needed anymore to make Law look like a badass. Defeating CC is a good start.

That would be the entire opposite of a good development.
Wasting characters is perharps one of the worst storytelling mistakes one can do. And Oda isn't too fond of it.

I think that Coby is the new Sengoku, and Smoker is the new Garp. I think that Aokiji is too cool to join the Marines again, and Smoker won't like to be Fleet Admiral.
And Smoker could use some of CC's knowledge to become more dangerous (to use his smoke better?). Or he may learn from his mistake fighting Law and become stronger. :ninja:

Urouge was okay, but he was rather one-dimensional. I also think that the absent Supernovae are absent for actual reasons, and that we've covered all the independent 'Novae. The remaining members are probably allied with Yonkō, and perhaps one has become a Shichibukai like Law.
I agree, the Supernovas we've seen so far are probably the only who are still acting independently.
As for the remaining four, I think it's very likely that they are working under a Yonko:
-
Drake most likely is a prominent member of Kaido's crew. Not only does he seem to be extremely powerful (I mean, we saw how strong a awakened koala Zoan was in Impel Down, can you imagine a freaking dinosaur?!) but also he seems to have a lot of insight on the government. Considering that Kaido seems to have a technology theme, and Drake was aware of Vegapunk's Pacifista project, he could very well have provided Kaido with knowledge or insight on how to improve his cyborgs. He is also most likely capable of using haki and rokushiki, so I'm sure he is extremely powerful. I actually think he may have the highest bounty among the supernovas;
-
Bege may have joined the Blackbeard Pirates. Now, I'm well aware that Bege is probably not strong enough to be at the same level as the other members of the crew, but he could be extremely useful to them due to his ability. I really doubt Blackbeard found a ship big enough to transport Wolf, so Bege could actually be used to "store" Wolf inside him. He could also be used to keep the other members of the crew safe whenever Blackbeard goes on a rampage with the tremor fruit;
-
Bonney and Urouge may have joined Shanks and Big Mam, the first for protection from the World Government and the second in order to survive. I'm not sure on which crew they would fit better, but if I had to guess I would say Bonney is with Shanks and Urouge with Big Mam, although it would also work the other way around.

Drake is more like attacking members of Kaido's crew. I doubt he'd become a member since it feels more like a personal vendetta between him and Kaido rather than him attacking Scotch just to try to prove himself worthy to be a part of the Yonko's force. Plus he doesn't seem like the subordinate type at all. None of the Supernova really seem that way. The point of them being introduced is them being worthy notable unruly pirate rookies who act out on their own…Not as pirates who grab onto big names to make it somewhere. If any of them do decide to work under a Yonko, I believe it would be for their own selfish needs and for them to get what they need from it and to commit mutiny or just leave all around.

While I agree Luffy probably wont become a Yonko (atleast not in the way it is meant now) but i disagree that becoming PK means controling all the grand line. To luffy being PK means freedom and adventure. It does not mean protecting every island in the grand line from other pirates or enemies. Which is what a yonko does in their territory.
Luffy may be as strong as a Yonko or thought of by people in the OP world as a Yonko. But he would most likely be a traveling Yonko. One with no set territory who just travels the world on adventure.

One with no set territory who just travels the world on adventure.
luffy will be a yonkou

luffy will be a yonkou
He will be strong and world famous but that doesnt mean he will be called a Yonkou.
Hell, Kidd, Law, Hawkins, and Appo could be the Yonkou with Luffy as the PK.
Everyone would know and acknowledge that Luffy is the strongest but he might not be called a yonkou because he doesnt rule a section of the New World like the other 4 would.

Read reply to Marcelle. She's in the background. Further behind Robin. At least that's how I see it.
Yes, but she's in front of the giant lever Law's casually resting his hand on in the foreground.

If you look, you'll see that Law's end of the lever is about twice as big as his head. Tashigi's end of the lever is about the size of her boobs. If she is in the background like Robin, then Tashigi's boobs = Law's head x2, that sounds about right.

Anyone notice how the dragon is biting Brownbeards alligator tail?
Also, where's Sanji on that page?
Edit: Wait, (s)he's hanging onto the dragons tail..
