Just don't get too excited about it…just in case. Regardless it will be something good, how good? Only they know.

Anyone here gonna be at the FUNi panel tomorrow?
Yep! We'll be at the panel. If you're at Otakon, come to our One Piece Podcast convention, and we'll all be going together to the FUNimation panel at 3:30!
-
Awesome, Sadly I won't be there. Otakon is too far up for me, stuck here in World 2 from Super Mario 3.
If you can tho, just let me know if FUNi gives any Hellsing news too please?
-
@Gentleman:
Well, tomorrow is the widely accepted 15th anniversary of One Piece. Hopefully they have an announcement to commemorate the occasion.
Toys? Tv deal?…. Seriously I can't think of anything.
It'll be AR Luffy and an ice cream truck.
-
-
Tomorrow is my birthday. Season five or movie deal announcement would be pretty swell. It'd be quite the gift.

Oh, really?
Then Happy Birthday, Zephray. ^_^ -
They don't need to announce anything new for One Piece to get me happy, even if they just say something about the entire theme song issues (dubbing them) and if they will ever gain the rights to ending 14 that would make my day. :) Something new for One Piece would also be a bonus, though I am not getting my hopes up ;)
-
when is the panel and is there a live stream i can watch?
-
Oh, really?

It'll be a One Piece hot dog truck this time.

I was hoping for something more ironic: like hatchan selling takoyaki, ironic.
Or announcing something for a completely different series (although that would be getting into the realm of trolling.)
Lets just wait and see, and keep a level head about this. (And low expectations)
-
I'd be ecstatic if they got their hands on season 5 already. Movies would be great too. BOTH would be a blessing.
I'm not holding my breath though.
I'm also waiting on more news for Hellsing and Fairy Tail. Oh, and A Certain Scientific Index/Railgun. I thought they licenses that ages ago.

Index is coming out on DVD October 30th. Railgun will probably come soon after.

While this may be a bit off-topic, who here is getting a little irked by Funi pulling these DVD-only LE sets and pricing them at the same value as DVD/BD LE sets? I heard that most of these DVD-only LE sets are getting the DVDs done first due to BD licensing issues (that's what I heard regarding SnO Forte), but if this is the case, I think most people would just opt for waiting for BD releases. I know some people love the chipboard boxes, but I'm not sure if those alone can save the DVD-only sets (Deadman Wonderland, Is This A Zombie?!, A Certain Magical Index, etc.) when people can buy BD/DVD sets at the same price (C - Control, Steins;Gate, Aria the Scarlet Ammo, etc.). Because, when you get down to it, you'll end up literally paying double for the same series (around $40 for the DVD set, then another $40 when the BD set comes out).
I'm not trying to speak out against DVD-only sets, but I can't help feel that some of those sets MIGHT get overlooked (despite some really awesome titles) for the BD/DVD sets of different series or for BD counterparts of the respective series. While I have made it a point to pick up most of those series, I will most likely wait for BD (the only reason I bought SnO Forte was for the sake of consistency with season 1). I will say this, if Funi continues to add in extra little gift items for these DVD sets (either via RightStuf or exclusive to the DVD set), these sets will definitely have more to offer. I'm not complaining about the SnO Forte postcards.
To go back on-topic: I am curious to what the news at the panel will be. Hopefully it's either more OP stuff or another awesome series getting brought over.

Deadman Wonderland, Heaven's Lost Property Forte, Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt and Is This a Zombie? are all Kadokawa Pictures products and they're being really strict with BD rights. Index is FUNimation being nervous about a title that was probably fansubbed to death.
On topic, the Industry Panel for FUNimation is now.
-
They got Season 5 (Episodes 264-336) and Strong World.
Yaaaaaay.

Well that was fast.
-
I find Funi's timeliness pretty epic. We waited for quite a bit for Season 4 to be announced and it's just now coming out on DVD, and then Funi reveals they go the rest of the CP9 saga AND Strong World. I get the distinct impression Funi is playing catch up for that year there was no new One Piece DVDs.
O-chan
-
I'm assuming this means the pre-order sales for Season 4 were quite well.
-
Now we just need Season 6 for Thriller Bark. lol.
-
Fuck yeah FUNi w00
-
hope they are also interested in the other movies too though. Amazing news what a panel!
-
So I'm assuming this means season 6 will cover all of Thriller Bark.
Season 7 should be SA, AL, and ID.
Season 8 the war.
Season 9 everything after the war,
Season 10, the reunion and FI.So if Funi keeps this rate of announcing 1 season a year up, then we'll have everything up to date in 5 years, but then they'll still be 5 years behind. Hopefully things go well, so Toei will just give them rights to everything up til the end of part one by sometime next year.
Strong World is some excellent news though! Any bets on who they cast as Brook's VA?
-
Holy crap,I thought you Guy's were playing a practical joke or something.I take back all the pessimism I had a couple pages, back, and about expecting nothing.
FUNimation,SHUT AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!
-
This has made my day. I'm so bloody happy you guys! :D
-
Yay! Season 5 and strong world!
-
@Nex:
Strong World is some excellent news though! Any bets on who they cast as Brook's VA?
Vic Mignogna, Jerry Jewel, and Chris Ayres have been rather popular names I've seen people suggest for him. I bet Mike'll have a blast with that casting.
-
This is pretty awesome. And yeah, I'm curious about Brook's voice
-
Good day. Can't wait.
-
This is amazing… so excited, especially for SW!!
-
Awesome incredible news. Jerry Jewell would be great for Brook, he's got a great singing voice too (but then again so does Vic).
-
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssss. Strong World dubbed! Can't stinking wait for it :D
This is the reward we get for not getting our hopes up :P
-
Wow, fantastic news on season 5 and Strong World. I wonder if the Strong World licence include episode 0, if so we're gonna hear a lot of new voices.
-
Oh my GOda! This is news of complete and utter awesometacularness! XD Strong World BD/DVD combo…make it happen Funi, and I will preorder that asap! I'm still holding out for John (Ican'tspellhislastname...the guy who voices Shigure in Fruits Basket and Tien in DB) to play Brook. ^^ Good to know we'll be getting a good straight shot of episodes 'till the end of...another filler arc. XDD We're even closer to TB now that Season 5 is official! ^___^ Still keeping my fingers crossed for an eventual BD release announcement, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. The S4V1 episodes look damn near BD quality, so I'm more than satisfied with DVDs for now...I'm willing to double dip for BD just because it's OP.
