Man. I'm really not the slightest bit interested in the WiiU now. As much as I liked Wii games, I never really bought as much. Mainly due to how long it takes for thier first party titles to drop in price. It kinda feels like they are secluding me from trying most of their games. I can understand keeping titles pricey for the sakes of quality, but it does not make sense if I can get a title with just as much or more quality on another platform at a lower price.

And… I'm not really confident that third parties would favor or develop heavily the WiiU either despite the specs. Nintendo did say they would have a good number of support before the Wii launched, so I'm not keen on trusting their word again. Maybe I'll be wrong, but who knows?

Nintendo doesn't control how high stores sell their game for in the end, the stores do. I suppose NIntendo might be selling them to the stores for more, but even still, if nobody was buying it at high prices, it woulg go down in price. Its basic supply and demand.

I just remember looking into buying Gamecube games like 2 years after the Wii was released (games that were older too), and they were still in the 30 dollar range when I expected at-least 15-20. I'm just blindly assuming, so I don't really know exactly why first party titles stay at a high price for so long.

Yeah heard some rumors about AC3 and the WiiU Launch as well.
Either Ubisoft delays AC3 to hit the shelfs with the WiiU or the WiiU Launch moves up to the AC3 release.

If you were looking at used game stores, then you only have the popularity of the games to blame for their price. It isn't Nintendo's fault everyone wants to play Thousand-year Door.

But Nintendo does drop the price on their best selling games, after while. They haven't done it much for the Wii, though, but I remember TONS of "player's choice" edition games for the gamecube, selling the games for 20 or 30 bucks instead of the usual 50 at the time.

They didn't really do it for a few GBA titles, at least they didn't around the area I was in. Super Mario Advance 1, a launch title for the GBA mind you, was still selling around the $30 range for the longest time in the game stores around me.

Shit, guys. I still, to this very day, see Mario Kart DS priced at 30 something bucks at Gamestop. I'm thinking it's Gamestop's fault but I don't even know. All I know is that I'm not going to rebuy an old ass game for 30 bucks even if it's amazing.

So the DSi and DSi XL are both getting a nice little price cut in North America. $100 for a DSi and $130 for an XL. Not too shabby, although unless you can't live without the ability to upload your photos directly to Facebook, you're probably better off investing in a 3DS at this point.

Masahiro Sakurai, creator of Kirby, Smash Bros. and Kid Icarus Uprising, decided to sneak into a particular game studio today in order to get a sneak peak at the studio's games ahead of E3.
While Sakurai did not identify the target of his sneaking work by name, he did share a picture:

So what did Sakurai see at this studio? Sadly, we may never know, as he says he was caught within two seconds… possibly by Atsushi Inaba who Tweeted, "@Sora_Sakurai spotted!"
Sakurai feels that he might have made it in if he'd had a box in his inventory.

So for all you Mario Kart players out there, the new 3DS system update that released today also came with a patch to fix the glitches in the stages that let you skip the whole level (Maka Wahu, Bowser Castle 1, Wuhu Loop). I know I'm quite thrilled about this, though I hope they fixed the teleporting problem too (haven't seen any online verification that they have).

As for what else the system update added, I have no idea. I think it added the folder option too unless that was added from the last one.

I've noticed that too, guess they wanted to have one last hurrah on being cheap. I seen one guy commenting on the news article saying that taking out things like this kills the competitiveness. I was tempted to create an account just to say "Or you could actually… I don't know, play the game"

See, I have complicated views on patching games to make them more "fair"… sometimes, it's best to just let the players figure things out. sometimes, there are glitches that you did not intend. sometimes, "glitches" can lead to a deeper meta-game. sometimes the balance is awful, and really somebody should get on that because everyone can see how shit it is. Or maybe it isn't, and you should wait a while, so that you don't overreact?

but no matter what, in a MarioKart game, a glitch allowing you to easily bypass entire chunks of a course, and in some cases nearly the whole damn thing, are obviously bad and should be removed. and anyone who honestly wants them in the game is an awful person and I hope I never have to play against them in anything, because they are the worst sort of competitor. I really don't know why anyone would go online, pick courses they can cheat on, and hope to beat the people who don't know the cheat/won't use the cheat. Do they honestly feel like they won anything? Like they proved anything? and it isn't even someone you know, it's just random online people you're raising your points higher than! And how can it be fun, when you barely even play the actual game? They must not like mario kart, because if they did, they would want to enjoy the race. but they clearly don't care about enjoying the race, all they care about is winning. at a game they must not like enough to bother player properly. It just don't understand it.

anyway, I'm glad Nintendo is patching this shit.

Maybe the square on the WiiU Controller is to connect the controller to the console.

They probably didn't want to release a DLC/channel update (Skyward Sword) to fix something so game breaking. They wanted to make sure everyone can get it to make online play fair.
