I think Magellan was banking on Shiliew betraying him in a more personal "I will now backstab u literally lulz" kind of way.

Because English isn't Oda's first language. Some things go screwy and create Engrish in translation that he doesn't realize.

Same reason we don't call Franky "Furankī". Or Whitebeard "Shirohige". When hopping languages, intent matters more than what's actually there, sometimes.

I dunno. I figure it's just kinda odd to ignore the way Oda has it specifically set up, regardless if he's fully aware how odd it looks. I tend to go with Oda's spelling if I can remember which is which lol. It was one reason I so hated when the whole "Zolo" arguments happened lol.

And it was being translated as "Franky" long before he had a wanted poster spelling it out in English. Because that was the intent, and what the katakana indicated, though a literal translation of the japanese would have been… different. (Side note, the "y" spelling is typically for boys, the "ie" spelling for girls. This in theory applies to most names, including Robby/Robbie and Sammy/Sammie, but isn't at all universal.)

Translating is an imprecise thing. You pick and choose your battles sometimes. ESPECIALLY with proper names.
"Shichibukai" and "Seven Warlords of the Sea" is another example. "Supernovas" and... whatever it is in japanese. "Nakama". "Haki" instead of "ambition." The translations go with what what sounds better in the language its being presented in... and sometimes they opt to keep the japanese name for flavor... or for context. (English translations really should go with "ambition" incidentally, leaving it as "Haki" makes it a magic word instead of a casual word with magic applied to it.)

Oda doesn't have an English speaking fact checker editor helping him, he makes mistakes. He has examples of Engrish all the time, especially in his titles or subject notes in color spreads... doesn't make them right automatically just because he wrote it out. English is NOT his language, he isn't right about it all the time.

Oda has no idea that Shilliew is nonsense in English. Because it works phonetically in Japanese and he assumed "Put these english letters to these sounds, and it spells the name properly in english." Except it doesn't.

These are some I found. I admit I don't know much about rating poems, which is why I asked to discuss it here. In other bleach forums, all they do is praise it to no end, without really explaining it.
