@Mr.:
Robby…you're jumping the gun. This chapter was the end to the Chimera Ant arc; not the series. If the series does discontinue in WSJ, I'd be willing to bet that it'd appear in Jump SQ with older characters.
No, it's what we've ALL been saying for the last 20 weeks, ever since he started approaching the 10th, then 20th chapter after he came back, and especially so when the art started getting scribbly and long standing plot threads started getting resolved in fast anticlimactic fashion a couple weeks ago.
It's Togashi's track record that's againt him, not the story's potential. ANd next week will definitively answer the question of "will it continue, hiatus, or completely end" for the forseeable future. I've said that several times already.
@RobbyBevard:
Except for his track record. YuYuHakusho's incredibly sudden ending, 7 years worth of hiatuses, a history of "illnesses", and scribble art are all against him. Plus the actual content of the story at the moment.
If he were almost any other author, the speculation wouldn't be so lingering or persistent. It keeps coming up and sticking and feeling possible because… of what he's done before.
That said, next chapter will be the deal maker in terms of its continuing, hitting hiatus, or if Togashi is serious this time. Next week is the biggie. If there's no hiatus after next week, (the chapter that would finish out the next volume) I think we can breathe a collective sigh of relief for some time to come.
@RobbyBevard:
It's pretty moot anyway, like I said, next week will be the deciding chapter one way or another. As the last chapter for a volume, its the place to end the series, go on hiatus, or… actually begin a new arc proper. We'll see in a week.
