Do you think it is possible it'll cover the Marineford Arc?
One Piece Blue Deep, new One Piece book (March 2012)

Do you think it is possible it'll cover the Marineford Arc?
It'll even cover the fishmen island arc.

@Monkey:
It'll even cover the fishmen island arc.
Ooh, I think I missed something. Thanks for answer!
Good. So chances are we are going to get those giant names finally:D

You missed nothing, it's just me who makes a guess…But I'm pretty sure, it'll cover it. (as for Marinford, there's no place for any kind of doubt).

This is more than enough for me to be happy.

Will Blue Deep also come out in USA? Or will it only be in Japan?

I'm sure Carlsen will also release it in Germany some day -

I hope so as well, my guess is the chances are pretty high. I was worried at first since in a recent SBS for volume 65, Oda revealed the names of the other mermaids that appeared at mermaid's cove. But then again he also revealed the names of the Captains and the Devil Fruit they had eaten in the volume 47 SBS (although databook Yellow had already been released).
Will Blue Deep also come out in USA? Or will it only be in Japan?

Maybe in the near future Viz may release this and the other databooks. They've released all three Naturo databooks (as one giant volume), and they've stated that the 2nd Bleach databook will be released sometime this year.
-
@ultimateclima:
Either way…really surprised there's another data book so soon. A data book has been on average coming out every 15 volumes, so this is surprising for me, albeit a good surprise (even if Data Book Blue came out shortly after Red).
I guess it`s the final databook to close the first part of the adventure and so got released right before the NW(well at least made), which will be theme in the next databook then.
I forgot if Blue was the one that put "stats" of the Strawhats,
It was Red.
-
Aw, I wanted just one of the Data books to come out in other countries…. Well, I can keep on dreaming that one day, Viz'll release all of One Piece Data books.
-
I don't think that'll ever happen since the older ones have such a limited scope. But there's nothing that says they CAN'T choose to do whatever the latest book is, if One Piece continues to rise in popularity in North America.

You just recently translated Colour Walk 2, it has some of the most outdated information to date, and old art. I don't see your point.
-
I'm gonna say, maybe it's an updated version of Blue. Or like, "Blue Mk II". As a "Grand Data File" with info past where the last one ended.
Well, there were some bits of information left out of the last databook so I hope that's what it is.
-
Some other names I would like to know (despite being rather minor and annoying characters) are the true names of the Impostor Straw Hat Pirates and what they did before they decided to form their crew

The back-story of the cucumber would be interesting.

The back-story of the cucumber would be interesting.
…. I really don't know what you mean by that!
....but.....
.... when "the cucumber" is mentioned, what I think of is that "disturbing dose of Cocoa" warning for out of context! http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=§ion=&q=fake+robin+one+piece#/d3bwdj8 hmmm I really need to re-color that, now that I looked at it agin after a few months, I see I could have coloered it better.
Though the anime made that scene not so …..low brow .....emphasis on low

When someone get's the Databook, could they blow up the part where it states, BY ODA EIICHIRO?
Seriously?
-

Art is forever, and the color walks are numbered, so you can't exactly say, Here's Color Walk 1, now get the next installment…Color Walk 5!
The information in these data books is only current up to whatever date they were published, and purports to present an augmented view of what we know about the series at the time of its release. Why would anyone buy a book that has in-depth information about the Straw Hats...but only up to Chopper? The individual data books only have a limited shelf life as an attractive product, so if Viz sees enough support for OP to take a gamble on translating one, they're going to choose the book that presents the most up to date information.
-
I hope it will reveal Rumbar's last song quintetto names and remaining carpenter of galley-la's names
-
i want the names of the other supernova crew members, like the fire-breather in kids crew
-

They usually never say BY, they just print his name on the front like the other Japanese comics.
-

Samething…Just blow his name up.
-
Why is it not available for preorder on CDJapan yet? They sold Green and the other Jump titles to be released in March are available already, so I don't get it. Maybe I should email them.
Samething…Just blow his name up.
And your point is…?
-

you mean this part:
(it always looks like this…)WHY???

Because they want the book, who else do you think has been buying these things? The majority of it has been us. Out of date Bleach character books have been released, I'm still not seeing the issue.
-
The Bleach data book was released only two years after it was out in Japan.
Three of the five OP data books are over five years old, and two of them are ten years old.
It costs a lot more money to release a data book than an artbook and it has a lower sales potential. The only way to make it worthwhile is to hope it appears attractive to general fans of the series, and it's not going to work if they notice that it only covers 20, 40, or 75% of the series rather than almost all of it. Which means a) the right market size needs to be there, and b) the right book needs to come along in Japan for them to take the gamble. Viz only released one Bleach data book, but there are several in Japan. Why stop at one? Because it probably didn't make them very much money, and they're not going to bother doing it again.
Seriously, what is so hard to understand about this? I really hope you're not a business major.

When Viz released the first databook for Bleach their was only one databook at the time, the second didn't come out until 2010. It also looks like the first databook sold enough to warrant the release of the second one.
-
Well, that's good news, but it's still a recent release in Japan, which was the point of my original statement. It's too late to hope for English releases of the old, OLD data books for One Piece.

Viz released all three Naruto databooks as one volume. I mentioned this earlier but their could be a possibility that Viz could release some of the databooks as double volumes (to me it wouldn't make much sense releasing Red and Blue as a combined book, especially since this latest book is basically a continuation of Blue). -
It would be nice…but personally I wouldn't hold out hope looking for the same treatment as Naruto. There's Naruto, and then there's everything else.

Are you counting Rainbow?

That cover seems to be the "Sha" databook, which I own in German. It alone has 358 pages, so I don't see how the other ones could be in it, too.
-
No, I'm counting the book this thread is about as the fifth one.
-
Oh, I misunderstood how you meant that..

It says it in the book description:
"It’s Shippuden homework time! Study up with this book and you’ll pass the test for “most knowledgeable shinobi of all time (at least till the next update!).” This handy, huge guide covers all the way to Volume 43 of the best-selling manga!"

Nowhere does it say they're combined.
-
I'm trying to understand what says here about the databook. Helps?
-
oohh, understood…
just says that on others pages has more infos...anxiety after saw the photo from locos...
-
Romance Dawn? The same Romance Dawn of One Piece Red or the same of Wanted?
-
on Roger's sayings it's written Shiki…
I think chapter 0 will be included here... -
Yeah, going by that pic it does seem as if the story is Chapter 0.
-
will be a huge character book, a lot of explanations about characters; birthdays it's written there too…
the part about Force I didn't understand, but maybe explanations about power, strenght etc...
the part about Grand Answer I think it's like quizzes to test our knowledge...
and the other Romance Dawn I think it's chapter 0...some of the kanji i cannot understand because of the quality of the image...
but it follows the pattern of the Blue databook... -
Oh, really nice cover. I hope we could find HQ scan to transtalte all the text :)
Thanks for the picture, I add it to 1st post ^^
-
I'm getting pumped for this book, I just can't stand the waiting. Even when it gets released on the 2nd I'll still have to wait about two more weeks for it to arrive at my seller's location. The fact that it says "Characters World" confirms it's an extended version of the Blue databook and with pictures of the Straw Hats post-time skip (Also Jinbe's picture on the cover is post time skip as well) probably means it'll cover the Fishman Island arc as well.
Nowhere does it say they're combined.
I hate to keep bringing this up but the description says:
"covers all the way to Volume 43"
Meaning Viz may made some alterations to fit information from three databooks into one big databook.

Sha covers up to 43 on it's own.

I have the Naruto data book myself and it is just data book 3, they didn't make any alterations with it. But yes, it is interesting that chapter 0 will be in this data book! I'd buy it just for that!
