I don't know why I don't call her Giantess, I got so used to FemGiant for some reason~
:happy: likely its beacuse in anime fandom we put Fem! infront of other stuff esp when we change genders (it's FemUsopp!) we've gotten too used to putting Fem! in front of what we want (try saying that 3 x fast!..or jsut type it fast ;) identify as female instead of the old fashioned English suffix of -ess to identify a female. (Giantess, seamstess, Head-Mistress ect)
I have notice in recent decades the "-ess" has not been uses as much as it used to, for example, flight attendant instead of stewardess
It's funny, because I'm writing a 5-page essay on Scandinavian mythology. Thus, I know who those are! Great feeling
I now want the Giant Squad to have names of Scandinavian gods and creatures.
I never majored in Norse Mythology but it was my favorite in High School. For some reason I didn't love (liked? yes. loved? no) the Greco-Roman Mythology. I remember thinking as a teen "that they were tamed down some from the Norse appeared" in other words, The Greeks were too civilized to my tastes lol while the Norse were rowdy bunch. yeah yeah as an Adult I fully realize there is ntohing "civilzed" about some of the myths like marring siblings, Cronus eating his own children, Hera's acts of jealousy, ect,ect. But I still prefer the Norse gods. One of my fave was the multi-sided Loki.
Oh, what is this essay for? High school or collage? I love your comments and insight on OP, I wonder what insight you would give to mythology. I'm currently reading up online on more of the Norse Gods and came across this article on Loki, http://www.widdershins.org/vol11iss4/01.htm, What you think of it?
As for names….. lol be funny if some of them is called Bor (father to Odin) and Laufey (I've seen several sourses say its the father of Loki, but one site said it was his mother?I thought the mother's name wa Faurbuti), huh just read a site that said Odin's giantess mother was called Besta. We can call the Giantess of the Gaint Squad Besta ooorrrr use Angrboda lol
@krule274:
Is that a real picture?
Yes, Oda drew it for some kind of event a few months ago. Maybe it was for Jump Festa, I'm not sure.
Yes I think it was Jump Festa, I read people saying it was poster of the 11 Supernova (minus Zoro) post-timeskip that was advertized in one of those magazines.
