Yeah I do, I do the same thing too.
I mean if you're gonna read without ever buying, whatever but the arguments that can be read 2 pages back are just laughable.
It doesn't make a difference Oda is already rich… and the such... that's just friggin retarded.
People like that tick me off and they most likely have the same attitude towards movies, music and games.
And I have my doubts that the same people that would never pay anything for one piece would ever pay for other smaller series that they read.
I mean I don't care if people do this stuff knowing how wrong it is, whatever that's your decision.
But really there is absolutely no discussion to be had about how wrong it is. There is no argument to be made that behaviour like is justifyable in any shape or form.
Any arguments that are made really boil down to the unbelievable sense of entitlement people have today...
One more person who misunderstood me.
I never said it's okay to read One Piece without supporting it a little. I only said that if I buy some volumes, it won't make a difference money-wise to Oda. I'm sure the biggest support to him is that lots of people love his manga and that he likes his work.
By the way, I spent 40 dollars for a CD just because I couldn't find it cheaper and I wanted to own it and support the band which I think isn't "swimming in money". I spent another 30 dollars for another CD (used) of the same band for the same reason. Also, I once wrote down on the paper the games I really like and thus want to buy them. Whenever I have the money or want a present for Christmas etc. I get one or two game off the list. The games I've played through countless of times. Heck, I started to buy games I haven't even finished because I know I'll play that again someday. The list is still there and there are plenty of games I still couldn't buy for different reasons (not finding retail release anywhere, waiting it to be cheaper etc.).
Like I mentioned before, my country doesn't have One Piece and while I could import the volumes (not for cheap of course), I have to keep a balance. I can't just go on and spend all my money at once. When I was in Paris and I got some money from my mom, I went from one bookshop to another one to find the volumes I want the most. Guess what, I bought 3 and my "collection" will change as I have other "most-wanted" volumes.
Thank you for judging people although you know nothing about them.
This is my very last post connected to this discussion.[/hide]
@Juvar:
Helping out the thread here. :ninja:
Well they did struggle with it for a while, so I think that's fair compared to Ryuuma who cut it down in one go really. But I'm just as disappointed as you tbh, I hoped it could've been even stronger - maybe (idea came up earlier) it wasn't actually a fully grown one and bigger, stronger ones might still appear. Who knows really. But the Dragon didn't seem that "wise" to me from the drawings; hopefully we'll get something like that.
@Chompp:
When it first seemed that the Dragon could talk I was hoping that Luffy would make it his friend/pet and was kinda disappointed that they started to fight with it. But when it became clear that it wasn't the dragon that talked it didn't bother that much anymore. Although I personally like intelligent talking dragons more I'm happy that there are somekind of dragons in One Piece :) Eventhough it went down rather easily it really was a nice homage to Monsters and Ryuuma (like someone else already mentioned). But I also am hoping that there will be a stronger and maybe bigger dragon out there. Atleast there must be more of them, it could not have been the only one left.
If it wasn't full grown, how big is one really?
Okay, I'll give you that, it didn't seem to be all that clever or wise. More like a giant monster and that's it. I hope we'll see a talking one someday, although it's not that important.
