It's probably a real dragon since it was identified as such and so we can get a hook up to the short "Monsters" series Oda worked on. Might be some Ice dragons here, hence the "It's cold" comment. Maybe the SOS came from a dragon who was being hunted and killed by a Samurai.

How was it impossible? We saw lots of people on skypiea doing that with a cloud dial. To be expected that a genius weather girl who studies all things sky would figure out how to do that with out a dial.

eg: A dangerous section of road where you might get a punctured tyre.

I'd say Nami's cloud-creation works because of better technology, hence why she doesn't use the dials anymore either.

This chapter, just… wow! I'm positive that this island is connected to Vegapunk in some way, especially due to the Marines' and World Government's emblems at the main gate. Looks like it used to be the Wano Country... definitely not what I expected from it, until the ending. From Nami's description of one half of the island looking like it's cold, I kept being reminded of the fire/ice level from Super Mario Galaxy 2 and HailFire Peaks from Banjo-Tooie. Thank you for that, Oda...
Smoker looks awesome, and his scar resembles Koza's very closely, except over the other eye. I really like how well he knows Luffy, so much so that he no longer refers to him as "Straw Hat" (unless that's a translation error). He knew that Luffy would immediately go to the island that made the log's needle shake the most. It sucks for him that they got caught in the Whitestrom, or else he would've been at exactly the right place to intercept. Better luck next time, ol' chum. Let's see if you can catch up before Luffy and co. bring down a dragon (and absorb its soul)…
Also, anyone else notice what looked like Kitetsu when Brook was explaining Wano to Zoro? Zoro has Kitetsu III, but maybe that wasn't the one being portrayed there. Plus, if Wano's Samurai are that deadly, it fits they'd wield legendary blades. We'll have to see...

But it's still creating clouds even though it was said to be impossible before. The dial wasn't the problem, where they were was. Probably because of the air. I didn't say it was complete bullshit, but I want Oda to actually explain how that's suddenly possible.

I'm disappointed that Luffy is effected by the heat at all. His second run of Level 4 ID they all ran around just fine and he just spent 2 years on an island with crazy weekly changing weather. I know its for comedy&fan service but it would be nice if Luffy showed some resistance to weather&temperature extremes.

Best theory. Actually the monster mark on the door and the giant skull may indicate Vegapunk tried to resurrect many different types of mythical creatures not just Dragons. Samurai on the Ice Half to keep other would be hunters away

You mean because Robin mentions that maybe the air down here can't support it. Cause Robin is the all knowing weather person.
Obviously Nami and those weather guys figured some NEW way. Again they are not doing the same thing. They are not using a dial. She is doing something else. Your comparing apples to oranges. If she used a DIAL then i would complain, but she didn't. Thus you can't say becuase the dial didn't work, that this won't work.

I actually like that the crew members feel the weather around them. Makes it more logical. In quite a few series characters are in the same exact outfits for the rest of the series, regardless of heat, cold or other weather conditions, or in general, sometimes it's just wierd.

Why would he become immune to temperature?
Look at the Impel Down arc again. Look at the inmates in the boiling floor and the freezing floor. They have been there for seemingly years and they are still sweating and complainig about he heat or dying of frost. THey didn't become immune, so why would Luffy who was there for only a few hours at most become immune.

i'll keep reading and updating slowly, as well as giving credit where credit is due! i'm in class so it may take a bit :Pthis chapter was hilarious. luffy had a ton of moments: the way luffy answers the phone, luffy thinking the island "smells like trouble," some more awesome luffy logic (he's probably just an idiot), and fanservice for guys (and apparently girls) as well!
otherwise, i totally think that it's vegapunk's hazardous research island
i have no reason to think that vegapunk has been creating devil fruits on that island, but i do

I think you guys have to omuch expectations of usopp. Its one thing to be brave when facing things of this world basically. I can see him no longer being afraid of like Oars or Sea Kings, or ect. But come on, he is being told to go onto an island that is on fire, surrounded by a sea of fire, the log pose don't even point to it and then on the island he sees a DRAGON.
NOt to mention you guys are forgetting what brave even is. Without fear you can't be brave. Am I brave going into the kitchen to make a sandwich? no. Is someone who's entire family was killed in that kitchen and thus deathly afraid of the kitchen going into that kitchen and doing the same thing being brave. Yes.
You can't be brave unless you are scared. Thus I feel Usopp will always be afraid

WOW!!! That was amazing chapter. I really liked the interactions between SHs and also that new look of smoker cause he looks even more badass than 2 years ago. Robin's presence on the island will surely lead to some important historical stuff :) . Only thing I'm not happy with is that SHs pobably won't go to that Raijin (lightning) island because i was really looking forward to see how the people live under such dangerous weather conditions etc…

I'm sorry but spending an hour in 300 degree room will not make it so that years later when you go back into that room you will feel less hot.
This is not the poison scenerio. You don't create antibodies or stuff like that to protect yourself from temperature. To become resistant as you say to cold you put on layers of fat. To become resistant to heat you can't really do anything, you just become more used to it the longer you are in it. Doesn't mean you still aren't hot. And AGAIN its been two whole years since luffy was in the heat of impel down AND he was only there for a couple hours. Impel down didn't save him from Aikanu. The freezing hell wouldn't save him from Aokiji.

Can you elaborate on the Kyohei pirates?They were a band of Elbafian Giants who became Pirates, who were around 102 years ago. Dorry and Brogy were the Co-Captains, and those two from Enies' Lobby, Oimo and Kashii, were members.
Still, probably just a coincidence.

I thought this island could have been one of Vegapunk's research lab as well. Since his research are so important, it would explain why they would not tolerate trespassers.
I think this island is where Aokiji and Akainu fought as well. It would make sense that they fight on a deserted island. Its incredible to see that the island is still burning and icing two years later. That must have been one hell of an epic battle. I don't think Oda is gonna show their fight.
Smoker and Tashigi are heading there which is awesome.

Punk Hazard and Wano aren't the same island! It doesn't make any sense to everyody hyped for a country filled with samurai, and then in the same chapter show it as a abandoned marine island.
I wonder which islands the supernovae went to. Obviously Urouge went to raijin island. I would say that capone and apoo went to mystoria, and kidd and killer went to risky red islandPS. I'm sad to say this, but I don't think that's tyrannosaurus. I think it's his urn RIP.

To me, Hancock being Luffy's mom takes the prize. Though Crocodile being a woman is almost equally stupid. I know the latter hasn't been completely jossed yet, but the Cerberus DF hasn't either.The chapter was great, though I'd say it was not more "typical of One Piece" than the last few chapters were. It felt fast-paced, but not rushed like the start of Fishman Island. I don't really mind, as I'm fine with the first couple of New World arcs being short so that we can get introduced to the place.
