That's because Luffy is a rubber man. He vulcanizes because he's made of rubber. Rayleigh and the admirals aren't made of rubber. Besides we saw Luffy use Haki without vulcanizing when he 1hitKO'd the pacifista on Sabaody.
I'll agree with this and add that certain Devil Fruit abilities enhance Haki.
Much like Enel's Mantra is stronger due to his DF, Luffy's CoA is stronger because of his body's physical properties that have a chemical reaction when compressed/hardened.

I could see The Strawhats teaming up with another Supernova crew in order to face big mom. Not because they feel they need another crews help but just because of a common enemy. I could actually see the Supernovas becoming Luffy's allied pirate crews in the end. I think the Strawhats still have a long ways to go before they can match a Yonkou all on their own and I assume were going to see a growth in strength similar to the growth of strength we saw from East Blue to The New World only on a much more powerful scale. First i agree maybe SH Pirates may need some help to defeat big mom Pirates as i imagine there are a lot of pirates under her contreol.. but i also think there is a significant different of strength between SH pirates and other Supernovas, considering Rayleigh (and Kuma) two years training strategy rather than their original strategy of going directly to new world like the other Supernovas.. So i think they will help Luffy defeating low ranking pirates fighter
But will Luffy fight big mom with the help of some allies (Kidd/Drake/Law) or alone? What would he choose? You know better than me that he fight to protect his allies and not using them to fight someone stronger than him. It is rare to find him in the past defeating the boss with some help. Usually it is one on one fight..

This is very similar to the entrance of the first half of the Grand Line and getting involved with Crocodile.
Luffy already has his sites on Big Mom, so in reality it will be probably less than a month(manga time) before they actually battle. There will be some minor growth on the journey there but after the time skip the major foundation of their power in which they will battle the world and Big Mom is already there.
The crew has generally had mini armies follow them to certain major battles but it just about always comes down to 1vs1's while the extra's take care of the fodder or the cool fodder. I'm not saying they won't team up with another Super Nova but i'm just taking into consideration every major battle that has concluded an arc up until now. In which once again it has come down to the Straw Hat's own power in defeating the enemy.
The other thing you are looking wrong is that everyone Luffy faces afterward has to be stronger than the last. I know you personally don't believe in this, but your making my posts sound that way. That is a complaint that has never ever been a One Piece issue, so why now? Luffy battles Arlong then goes on to battle the guys at Whiskey Peak, Mr 3 at little garden, then Wapol. I don't think anyone believes Wapol was more powerful than Mr 3, but certainly not more powerful than Arlong that's for sure. An even better example is going from Croc to Bellamy. Though not the major boss, he was depicted as such during Jiya. Then Eneru straight to Foxy. My bottom line is it doesn't matter if the following enemy or big boss is less powerful than Big Mom, Oda always keeps things consistent and interesting.
So far I have yet to see a weak link in the Straw Hat gang since the time skip, as far as I can tell each has bridged the gap between them and Luffy in their own way. I'm keeping in mind their personal vows during the split up to make sure Luffy isn't the only one protecting the crew. Especially with Usopp's and Chopper's attitude change I don't doubt in a "final battle" type setting they wouldn't be able to hold their own against Pekoms.

I totally agree with you. This is very reminiscent of the beginning of the Grandline and taking a Yonkou out after a couple of smaller arcs seems about right for Luffys progress if he hopes to be the Pirate King. The Strawhats are going to encounter enemies that haven't even been mentioned yet so i think its safe to assume no matter who the the Strawhats beat next there is still going to be a lot of story left.

I dont know why, but somehow your post reinvigorated me with this manga. I was semi disappointed it ended this way, but now I feel like its kind of like Wapol and stuff. Its pretty cool if you ask me. BUT, if there's one thing that needs to happen, it is the closing of characters like Den and Shyarly. I think im gonna reread this arc.
Peoples minds are still foggy with the idea that Luffy will crash Big Moms party in 4 days,and that will be the platform they meet and fight….Well,I hope people still don't believe this and they realized how stupid it is during the two week break.
Actually, one-shotting Caribou is not that big of a deal. So far, Caribou has shown absolutely no fighting skill whatsoever, and for all we know the only reason he has a bounty of 210 million is because he's a Logia (and therefore basically impossible for most people in Paradise to hit) and he's famous for killing Marines. Anyone with Haki and basic combat proficiency should be able to take him out.
Since when do you get a 200 million bounty for being a logia? He's a supernova which are the best of paradise. Pekoms and Luffy are just much stronger than Caribou they're stronger than supernova in general. Pre timeskip Luffy couldn't oneshot KO tangible Caribou. In fact even now Caribou still got back up after Luffy hit him.

With Big Mam and Luffy on the brink of warring, Caribou revealing an anonymous associate, the Fishman Island being risked getting destroyed (and the famed Poseidon herself residing in that very island), and a bunch of other, trivial to significant stuff stirring in the background, Oda has really set up quite the New World adventure for the titular Straw Hats, lol.

Its been stated that the yonkou keep each other in check. With the shiki, it was ASSUMED in the beginning that they were all around the same power level. Here, there is no assumption, Oda clearly wrote that the yonkou balance each other out. Another thing to note is that Blackbeard, who we know wants terrority and powerful DFS, hasn't tried to go after Big Mam. Theres a reason for that.

The Marines and Shichibukai exist in order to Counter the 4 Yonkou's at ONCE.
Ever Since the War Everyone's Been Assuming Its 1 Yonkou=Marines + Shichibukai.
Whitebeard was By far the Strongest of Yonkou as an Individual and maybe equal to the others in regards to Crew members/allies Strength.
Whitebeard himself Alone makes up for the other 3 Yonkou by himself.(just the Yonkou as Individual's and not the entire crew)
Most people start making up a bullshit power ranking scale where they put a Yonkou first than Admirals.
I'm betting any of 3 Admirals can take down the remaining 3 yonkou 1 on 1.
People tend to use Whitebeard as a Measuring stick to gauge the power of a yonkou when they forget that he was ALSO The STRONGEST MAN IN THE WORLD. Other Yonkou's compared to Whitebeard Individually will only be as strong as his Commanders.

I remember when that chapter came out there was a lot of controversy over Mihawks line. Basically he said he wants to see the literal distance between them. Here is what VIZ says.
Mihawk: "I just want to measure the true distance between that man and us." After being asked by Doflamingo if he was going to fight.

That doesn't mean anything. I stated that I agreed that Whitebeard was the strongest. What I'm trying to say is that his title is not 'The Strongest Man in the World By Far' or 'The Strongest Man Compared To All Those Weakling Yonkous'. How do you know that Shanks = Mihawk? There is not sufficient evidence regarding their duel(s) to state that they are equal in ability (although I do agree with you, it's still only speculation). Plus, Whitebeard's nickname came from an older age, Shanks or anyone else could have been stronger than him at the time of the war - WB couldn't even use Haoshoku as a result of his health.
Besides, you highlighted some of my points and went off on a tangent almost completely unrelated. If you're going to try and dispute my arguments, at least reply to them first.

First i agree maybe SH Pirates may need some help to defeat big mom Pirates as i imagine there are a lot of pirates under her contreol.. but i also think there is a significant different of strength between SH pirates and other Supernovas, considering Rayleigh (and Kuma) two years training strategy rather than their original strategy of going directly to new world like the other Supernovas.. So i think they will help Luffy defeating low ranking pirates fighter
But will Luffy fight big mom with the help of some allies (Kidd/Drake/Law) or alone? What would he choose? You know better than me that he fight to protect his allies and not using them to fight someone stronger than him. It is rare to find him in the past defeating the boss with some help. A Yonkou and her crew on there home base should be the equivalent of all the shichibukai together, there the power that fights off both the marines and the shichibukai, they hold off 7 of the most powerful pirates and the entirety of the marines, I know one piece isn't about power levels but it's not about defeating the strongest right off the bat

We are!!! I was just responding in general, actually sorry to say I don't think I got to your posts, I didn't mean to make such a mean entrance but I was just in a debating mood, I get a little eccentric sometimes (something many members aren't fans of)
This is very similar to the entrance of the first half of the Grand Line and getting involved with Crocodile.
Luffy already has his sites on Big Mom, so in reality it will be probably less than a month(manga time) before they actually battle. There will be some minor growth on the journey there but after the time skip the major foundation of their power in which they will battle the world and Big Mom is already there.
The crew has generally had mini armies follow them to certain major battles but it just about always comes down to 1vs1's while the extra's take care of the fodder or the cool fodder. I'm not saying they won't team up with another Super Nova but i'm just taking into consideration every major battle that has concluded an arc up until now. In which once again it has come down to the Straw Hat's own power in defeating the enemy.
The other thing you are looking wrong is that everyone Luffy faces afterward has to be stronger than the last. I know you personally don't believe in this, but your making my posts sound that way. That is a complaint that has never ever been a One Piece issue, so why now? Luffy battles Arlong then goes on to battle the guys at Whiskey Peak, Mr 3 at little garden, then Wapol. I don't think anyone believes Wapol was more powerful than Mr 3, but certainly not more powerful than Arlong that's for sure. An even better example is going from Croc to Bellamy. Though not the major boss, he was depicted as such during Jiya. Then Eneru straight to Foxy. My bottom line is it doesn't matter if the following enemy or big boss is less powerful than Big Mom, Oda always keeps things consistent and interesting.
So far I have yet to see a weak link in the Straw Hat gang since the time skip, as far as I can tell each has bridged the gap between them and Luffy in their own way. I'm keeping in mind their personal vows during the split up to make sure Luffy isn't the only one protecting the crew. Especially with Usopp's and Chopper's attitude change I don't doubt in a "final battle" type setting they wouldn't be able to hold their own against Pekoms.
I've always thought the croc case was different, croc had spent the last few years in the grandline without his former drive that he was the best but rather to get pluton in order to beat enemies he was not confident enough to overcome, his will was broken and he may have been weaker, after he found out he could kill WB in the confusion of the war he was once again his former self
I wasn't declaring power levels at all, I understand they face weaker guys often but remember they often beat them with little to no difficulty or they have some circumstance going against them
Arlong to whiskey Peak: this was to show they were indeed grandline level, they won flawlessly it doesn't show them as a threat at all
Mr. 3: Luffy's trouble here was he was preoccupied with saving his crew, he didn't pose much of a threat until his last move, which luffy was rushing due to time, the only one here was goldenweek, who was luffy's ultimate enemy in a way (lol), Mr. 3 was taken out easily by luffy after that

after enel he fought foxy, but foxy had his shipped rigged and wouldn't fight him face on he used dirty underhanded tricks the entire time, but he is still a fair case in your argument, he was the only one I was really shocked with but it was his home turf, I don't think he would have taken nearly as long on the going merry
and I agree one piece isn't about power levels, but it still has some limits, for example I don't think we'll ever see Usopp beat an Admiral, or nami beat akainu, I know luffy will be one of the strongest if not the strongest person in One Piece at the end, but based off what we've seen the other enemies would have to be equally as strong, stronger, or use underhanded tactics, or be beaten very easily, I think the examples you said actually help prove that
The Yonkou are the top tier, don't get me wrong I expect them to defeat, her but it would be so early on the defeat someone so ahead of everyone else, unless she has some sort of handicap, I'm expecting help on his side, smoker was just introduced and Kid has been mentioned there's got to be loads of powerful people with a grudge against her, Oda has also shown very capable with team fights, I personally (though still no solid grounds to base this off) am expecting a luffy, Kid, and Law team up to defeat her with a fight much like the oars one, where she's shown to be extremely powerful and they must unite to defeat her, if not them then someone else, Oda likes team fights against extremely powerful people
I just think it would be to early on, I don't know how I'd see Doflamingo as a threat if they could stand toe to toe with Big Mom, it throws everything we've been told out of whack
I won't put the idea completely out of my mind though, I would think it would mean Oda was rushing but I won't say no a 100% because I've seen to many things like this in mangas where the main character faces and beats an opponent they should stand no chance against, but my thought were oda was hopefully above that, although with my luck now that I've argued it it will probably come true

Since being a logia meant you could go unpunished through a huge chunk of the ocean. All signs do indeed point out that Caribour is a complete weakling without his Logia. I seriously doubt he would have ever become a supernova without his logia. Or evne come close

That and we don't know how Marco's powers work. The need to regenerate may take a lot out of him. And we also don't know how the injuries he incured while wearing seastone affect him.
Now what would have been interesting is seeing Jozu. Diamons pretty much can laugh at magma so I think he could have very well defeated Akainu. Especially after teh beating he took from Whitebeard

The admirals won the commanders with a little luck, but you can say that all of your pros about the war can be counteracted with that world government was at homeground If the world government would need to beat them at the younkou homeground. Where they have the area boobytrapped for the world government. Honestly I think the younkou would win. The war was at the homeground of the world government, and they had ace thus the whitebeard pirates were trapped. Couldnt really do everything they wanted. What if the world government had to get someone alive that was a prisoner for the younkou would you then think they would win. Plus: the allies are part of the power that goes with the yonkou. They will probably fight with them in a fight against the marines.

The WG and Shichibukai do not exist to counter every Yonkou at once. They provide balance to the world, like they're on opposite sides of a balanced set of scales. Balance =/= counter. The whole of the WG had to come together to fight WB. Your argument is debunked by Oda himself, who you keep saying 'tells us otherwise'. The WG knows that Yonkou do not get along, and they know they are not prepared to take on more than one. Remember when Shanks and WB met up? WG shat its dacks, and failed in preventing it. But u know what? Why was Sengoku surprised that Jinbe didn't want to fight WB, I mean he was FI's protector. On the other side Jinbe maintained peace between merfolk and mankind by being a shichibukai. Its a bit confusing, Jinbe's situation seems to be really complicated.

You can't compare power levels this way. Its just not right. Shanks has very strong vigour/haki. Mihawk most likely does not possess Haoshoku. If Mihawk and Shanks fight, then it may be a tie. But that doesn't mean that Mihawk will perform as well as Shanks in other fights. The world is not as discrete as the math that I stated above. There are situations. Some abilities (such as devil fruits) and Haki are helpful in some battles, sometimes they are not.
Luffy vs Enel is a classic example of how his ability is helpful.
Shanks vs Mihawk may be an example of how Shanks' haki may not be very useful against Mihawk

The admirals won the commanders with a little luck, but you can say that all of your pros that the world government would easily beat them. If the world government would need to beat them at the younkou homeground. Where they have boobytrapped for the world government. Honestly I think the younkou would win. The war was at the homeground of the world government, and they had ace thus the whitebeard pirates were trapped. Couldnt really do everything they wanted. What if the world government had to get someone alive that was a prisoner for the younkou would you then think they would win. Plus: the allies are part of the power that goes with the yonkou. They will probably fight with them in a fight against the marines.

The WG and Shichibukai do not exist to counter every Yonkou at once. They provide balance to the world, like they're on opposite sides of a balanced set of scales. Balance =/= counter. The whole of the WG had to come together to fight WB. Your argument is debunked by Oda himself, who you keep saying 'tells us otherwise'. The WG knows that Yonkou do not get along, and they know they are not prepared to take on more than one. Remember when Shanks and WB met up? WG shat its dacks, and failed in preventing it. Bellamy was relying just on his Paramecia-DF in the "Paradise" and got pwned pretty bad.
Caribou was totally relying just on his Logia-DF now right b4 the NW and got pwned pretty bad too. And just like Bellamy, he got pwned 2 times. But IMO he'll get pwned a 3rd time by "U-know-who".
