I wonder what Byakuya would be like if he were a woman.
Not related to Byakuya, but it's a cross-over:

And this cross-over is horrifying. Unless they're about to fight some other anime Cross-over like Kenshiro & Guts. Or Goku & Luffy. That'd be cool. -

damn what I would give to see Kenshiro and Guts rip these two apart. Goku and Luffy vs. Blearuto would be the kid-friendly(er) version.
-
I really don't want to comment on power levels but Ken + guts wouldn't stand a chance vs Ichigo + naruto.
Obviously not talking about bad assness just sheer power levels in their respective mangas.
Goku would just tear everyone in that list apart however.

This bleach arc is so ridiculous, I thought Kubo was done ripping off YYH…
You know what's really fucked up is that they're already in Karakura Town. So they were in Karakura Town then entered a video game so they could fight in a simulation of Karakura Town.
….....What?
!
Terrible, I know but it's late..

Karakura Town.
The only place Kubo knows by name.
Honestly if he ever left Tokyo he'd never be able to find his way back :P

Gah, I gotta comment on this, I must have anti-Bleach OCD or something, but Kubos retroactive additions to the plot make no fucking sense.
I know this shit is because he never knew this arc would come as he wrote SS, but he could try a little harder to make them not terrible. When Ishida shares his vital, exciting thoughts this week, he talks about how he always wondered about the shinigami sub prior to Ichigo.
Question: Why does he think there was a "first"? Why couldn't Ichigo himself be the first proper substitute? We know for a fact that Ukitake never talked about Ginjo, and while yeah the concept of shinigami powertransfer existed that doesn't mean the shinigami subs did. In fact, the way everyone acted about the whole Sub deal, it seemed more like Ichigo was special for founding this institution or something. I just don't see where "Ichigo is second!" comes from. But this is only half as dumb as Hitsugayas comment from a few weeks back: "Ukitake should have told you about Ginjo, but he didn't". Thats right, this wasn't even some secret coverup or anything, Ichigo was meant to know!
So Shrimpo, why did absolutely no-one else talk about it with him? The subject of Ichigo being the second ever-and first non psychotic- shinigami substitute just never came up in a conversation?
And why didn't Ukitake tell him? Did he just forget? Because that would make this arc amusing on a whole new levelShinigami: captain! We've just gotten a report that Kurosaki has joined renegade top criminal ginjo Kuugo! It seems he's being decieved and manipulated!
Hitsugaya: What?! Why on earth would he fall for that? Surely someone has informed him about Ginjo, and how dangerous he is!
…
Ukitake: oops, my bad
Hitsugaya: Ukitake-kun that's no good, it seems everyone Ichigo knows is getting maimed or brainwashed, and he's being used for nefarious purposes.
Shinigami: And I think his mind just broke.
Hitsugaya: You should be more careful in the future.
Ukitake: Boy is my face red.ladies and gentlemen, the custodians of the afterlife

Maybe it's because Ukitake was half dead most of the time.
But really, I won't just blame Ukitake for this lapse of judgement though he is primarily at fault. I too have to blame all of Soul Society for just never mentioning it. I bet they're all thinking along the lines of, "Oh you didn't tell him? I thought somebody told him! That's why I never told him…"

And as a guy who co founded the blog about Bleach, I'm kind of ashamed to say I don't realy know if I can do what I intended to do. You see, I'm afraid to post any first impressions along with the necessary images when I first read them because that's usualy way ahead of the real publication date, and I wouldn't want to get myself or anyone else in trouble over that. So the only way I see is to post them here first and do a repost later on the blog when the chapter actualy comes out. Would anyone read that though ? I'd like to know what you guys think.
Also I explained how I lost all will to do first impressions over this infuriating line of chapters which I raged on for so long I burned out on the issue and had nothing else to really say beyond just further stating how this sucks. I hope that's subsided for now, but I will probably lapse into a periodal rage fit over Chad and Orihime's part and way of exit out of the story, plot and fights in prefference to someone comming out of nowhere to take up their spot, but yeah, gonna try not to resort to violent elder-god-summoning levels of rage here.
But if I accidentaly do summon a Great Old One in my rage and bring about the end of mankind, just remember, Bleach made me do it.

you would think they would have given Ichigo a list of names of people that if they ever come and talk to you come and tell us.
you know like the name of the vizards
or the banished urahara
or this ginjouand who knows who else
maybe they thought some where dead or who knows, but is it so hard to at least say "let us know if you meet this person" Then tell ichigo about the person, like "oh he's fine" or "watch out he is a psycho killer"
i mean hell rukia didn't even tell ichigo there was more hollows than the standard. its not until they MEET a minos grande, or any other hollow that htey tell him.
um hello, did not the rest of the shinigami go to school for years and study all this before you let them go out to the field. Should not you have given ichigo a little lesson to start. not talking about years of schooling, but a little heads up like he hollows go from this level to this level. Here is a list of people we are on the lookout for for being dangerous. ect.
No wonder byakuya was pissed, rukia just basically gave ichigo and sword and let him run wild killing shit
-
Considering now how many people SS banished/lost in Karakura Town, you would think they'd have told Ichigo of some of them as Hinscher says…
Of course, part of why it seems so absurd is because the human world in Bleach is just KKT, so there's nowhere else but HM for these people to go. Also having way more Vaizards than needed doesn't help the feeling of KKT being so conveniently full of former SS employees (really he could have done with only Shinji, maybe Hiyori too, the rest were just designs he couldn't help himself from using on wasted characters).

I just don't see where "Ichigo is second!" comes from.Good points you make here, Daz.
In my opinion, Ishida's suspicion is exactly like Aizen's explanation of the Hogyoku granting the inner desires of people….last minute details Kubo threw in as an attempt to tie parts of the story to one common ground.
The latter: Aizen's explanation was probably intended to cement the "reality" that Aizen was aware of every occurance in Ichigo's life...i.e, his friends gaining powers. As a result, the early events of Orihime and Chad gaining powers due to Ichigo's leaking reiatsu was suddenly wiped out to say, "hey, Aizen and his plans caused that! Everything prior can be linked back to Aizen!"
The former: Ishida's suspicion was inserted into the story by Kubo to try to make the reality of having another substitute (Ichigo's primary role) less far-fetched to believe. Saying "Ishida suspected this all the way back in SS, ~300 chapters ago!" is his way of making up for not foreshadowing this at all. Only, a few pages of a vague suspicion revealed now does not carry the same weight of tossing in little subtle clues amongst a long-term run in the story.
But this is only half as dumb as Hitsugayas comment from a few weeks back: "Ukitake should have told you about Ginjo, but he didn't". Thats right, this wasn't even some secret coverup or anything, Ichigo was meant to know!

And why didn't Ukitake tell him? Did he just forget? Because that would make this arc amusing on a whole new levelAgain, a good point. Why did Soul Society's defenders not tell Ichigo this important detail? I mean, if Kubo didn't want to do this for whatever reason, but foreshadow the possiblity of another substitute indirectly, that would somewhat make up for it.
But he did neither. Why? Maybe the Shinigami were just hoping they would never have to worry about Kugo again, in which case that is beyond ridiculous. They should've told Ichigo, or better yet, killed or imprisoned Kugo so they wouldn't have to worry about him again.
….
Wow, this all boils down to what I've been saying. We need some backstory, like desperately. At the very least Kubo can give some half-assed explanation why Kugo was never mentioned by Ukitake or any other Shinigami for all this time. I mean, I'd prefer some explanation rather than just accepting the weirdness of this whole situation.
-

was Aizen lying again or just wrong?
cause doesn't this arc tell us that orihime and chad got their powers from their moms being rapped by hollows? yea i know they weren't rapped, but whatever, good enough
or was ginjou lying to them about these fullbring powers
WHO IS LYING and WHO IS TELLING TRUTH
how the hell did they get their powers?
thats teh worst thing about bleach. i can forgive everything shitty about the manga except for its constant CHANGING of known facts. It be like if in one piece we were told luffy got his devil fruit powers from eating the devil fruit. Then later we learn that no it was because he was close to shanks and shanks power seeped into him causing him to change. then later we learn that no it was because luffy's mom was attacked by a devil before luffy was born. but no later we find out that actually it was because ….
you get my drift. stop changing the damn past. its fucking annoying
-

You know, given Aizen's cunning persona, I wouldn't put past him to have lied to Ichigo. But then again…..what would he have gained by lying to Ichigo? Guess Kubo intended Aizen's explanation to be truthful.
And this arc gave us a third explanation by saying Chad's powers were due to his fullbring (his skin or whatever). Orihime, however, didn't get a fullbring explanation. And you bring up a possiblity that maybe Ginjou was lying….but like Aizen, what would he have to gain by lying? Idk
thats teh worst thing about bleach. i can forgive everything shitty about the manga except for its constant CHANGING of known facts.
Probably one of its biggest problems in a nutshell. Kubo has a tough time foreshadowing things, which is why so many reveals just seem like thought-up-on-the-spot plot points.
Need an example? Take Orihime and Chad's powers…..first it was because Ichigo's uncontrolled reiatsu caused them to develop powers….then it was because, according to Aizen and the lolHyogyoku, their will to stop being a burden (the irony is stunning) made them subconsciously create their powers in an attempt to help Ichigo, not hinder him, and in this arc….we were told (Chad only) got powers because it was a result of a fullbring.
One could try to combine these explanations together, but that's absurd....everyone accepted the first one just fine. Besides, it's hard to relate all these explanations together.

well the worse thing is that each explanation is WORSE than the first one
the first explanation was actually fine and seemed to what we were seeing happening. the next one was a big stretch that could have been accepted if not for the first one being already there. the last one actually isn't as bad as the second one, but the fact that we already had TWO explanations for this happening makes us all go "HUH"
oh and btw isn't orihime's fullbring her little hairpiece, you know how its something yoru proud of or something like that. chad was his skin (heritage) hers is her hairpiece (her bro gave it to her right?) and i'm guessing her fullbring is something like not wanting to see people hurt. she has that shield, and she can heal people. (she can attack, but doesn't)
ah whatever, no point trying to discuss bleach, its too conflicting. you try and explain one thing but your contradicting something said, but that something siad contradicts another thing said
i mean hell just look at this current arc. how many different times where the fullbring powers RE-EXPLAINED in a different way. seemed every chapter they said something that contradicted the prior chapter.
i'll take pissing chapters any day over this
-

Oh, if her hairpiece was intended to act as the basis for a fullbring explanation, then I missed it. But whether it was there or whether it wasn't there, the result is the same. Sticking the term fullbring to explain for Chad (or) Orihime's power does not bode well, because the first explanation was just fine.
i mean hell just look at this current arc. how many different times where the fullbring powers RE-EXPLAINED in a different way. seemed every chapter they said something that contradicted the prior chapter.
My problem with the Fullbring concept is that the powers are so inconsistent. Kugo changes something into a sword, Riruka shrinks things, Giriko sets a time limit on things and burns them when time runs out, Yukio creates a limitless environment in his PSP and can send people there, Jackie powers up when her boots get dirtied, Tsukishima alters memories by cutting his victims, Shishigawara (or whatever his name is, he sucks) gets brass knuckles based on luck.
I might have some of these details wrong, but my point is….these powers barely have any sort of connection to each other. And we're supposed to believe people get these random powers because a Hollow attacks their mother? What?
-

Not only that, Ichigo's Fullbring apparently changes their own powers…Ex. Giriko bulks up with muscles from some 'Time-God' contract or something like that.

Right. Does that mean that other Fullbringers can change each other's powers? Eh…
At least Ichigo's Fullbring isn't completely changing the theme of their individual powers…..even though muscles /=/ flames /=/ time.

apprantly ichigo's fullbring is that he wears his powers outside
thus all these fullbringers can now do their powers outside or some shit like that.
whatver. trying to comprehend bleach is like trying to figure out a woman. not going to happen

i didn't know people were surprised that ginjou was a substitue shinigami.
when i first saw that scene you posted i imediately assumed there had been in the past and were some at moment, even though it seemed kind of contrary to the fact that they seemed to want to put rukia ot death for making him a shinigami substitute.
i think most of us were more annoyed at how kubo seemed to think he had some huge plot twist in revealing ginjou as a sub shinigami.
Its like Kubo thinks he is Ivankov and we are his okama followers. he expects us to be wowed everytime he goes "NOT". meanwhile were all sitting there going, we know you weren't hit by cannon ball, so quit acting you ain't fooling anybody

It seems Naruto will have new opening called "Newsong" (weird tittle) in October played by Tacica and new ending "Place to try" played by TOTALFAT.
But its not confirmed if the fillers will end on October.
I guess Bleach will also have new opening and ending. -

@Holy:
Hahaha i see but "newsong" is weirder then "plainsong" (i cant image how they selected this titles) well doesn't matter has long it sounds good and i hope the "lovers got separated and now they fight against each other" type of thing is kept to minnium in the opening.

That's what I get for not doing my research properly. Ukitakes words make it pretty clear that other subs have existed, and combined with the strict power-transfer laws I can easily see Ishida putting two and two together. What confused, me, and still kinda does, is that Ishida this week doesn't use that logic- he basically says that the seeing badge alone (which could've been made for Ichigo) was what led him to his conclusion that "prior shinigami subs existed". Not Ukitake outright saying it.
Hitsugayas comment is still dumb though.
-
Let´s see:
Bleach: Ichigo & Ishida Vs Zenai = karakura town…again ? Come on Kubo...be more creative with the background, because:White and Karakura town is old.
Can I forget ishida´s talk ? please..pointless talk and pointless arguments hurts.
Rukia Vs Riruka: Is Rukia protecting the stuffed animals ? And another thing, the "love pistol"..this is interesting..
Shiro Vs Yukio (vocaloid mode):
...........................................Tsukishima Vs Byakuya: The best fight, and I´m serious about this.
Naruto: Hyped Raigake defeated, mummy guy also, let´s see the clam guy..what ? What you are doing there Gaara ? You have to fight awesome guys, not joke/folder characters.
But the worst part for me was: Why that information of how to defeat the Raikage was told through a flashback, if it could be conveniently appear in the plot ?
-

Wow, so I guess that acted as a very subtle clue towards more substitutes?
I forgot that little scene…..so I'll give Kubo some credit, but I still think this should've been foreshadowed a little more.
Ichigo & Ishida Vs Zenai
Pardon my ignorance, but what does "zenai" mean?

Naruto is getting Reel Big Fish to perform their next opening? Cool. Naruto can be like Ravemaster now.

Zenai = An anagram for Ai-zen, this is the way I call Ginjou on my weekly reviews.

The latest anime episode was great. Rock Lee filler will make anyone's week.

Agreed. Rise of the Seasickness Fist

Zenai sounded like Xena to me.

sure you did
i also go into just random topics like sket dance and post about dropping that manga
if you dropped it you would not be going into this topic. i never click into a topic that i don't read. what would be the point of it? I hate when people state in a topic that they dropped said series. they are full of it
I'm keeping in check to see if my favorite character (Minato Namikaze) is going to show up. Just because I dropped the manga, doesn't mean he is not my favorite character anymore. He IS still one of my faves. I'm also checking this thread if the war had already stopped (which I doubt it will. Actually, I can see this as one of the last arcs of Naruto).
Seems to me you are the few people who still defends this series in here. Good job, I guess.

last night i have a dream in which I was reading the next bleach chapter, at the end orihime stabbed ichigo in his back meanwhile he was fighting with notaizen, it was hilarious

In the next chapter, Orihime is revealed to be brainwashed/an illusion/an evil clone. If you ever dream about the aftermath and I get it right, tell me, if not, tell me anyway because it's already sounding better than anything Kubo could come with.

I kind of wonder how well you could see through an eye structure like that.
