! Kite eh? Togashi, you tricky tricky bastard.
Hunter x Hunter
-
-
! Hmm, Morel's back eh ?
! I kinda wish he'd be around longer in this arc, but what can you do ? -
! How can Kaito be reborn as ant if he was never consumed by the queen?
-
! wow I can't believe togashi actually pulled it off, kite wow.
-
! Was Kite consumed by the Queen? I thought Pitou sliced him apart before he got near the Queen… weird. Maybe Pitou removed his brain and fed it to the Queen. Surprised he has his memories back so quickly, though. This makes me curious about what the enhancement to his Nen will be... Perhaps he can pick from two weapons on the Roulette at a time, making it more useful?
-
! Poor Kite, got to wonder how this will all play out. And even though the Ants are sexless for the most part (IIRC) still is going to be weird that Kite has sexual characteristics of a female now.
-
! omg, all cruel, sad and tragic things become undone in the end …. Reina reunited with her mom, her big bro is well too and now Kaito revived. Beware the attack of the story-eraser!:getlost:
! All this sweetness in my mouth almost makes me puke... -
! to thsoe that claim hunter x hunter is the epitome of manga please explain this to me
! how is kaite an ant? i thought that pitou just remade him over and over to fight him over and over and NEVER fed him to teh queen?
! so how is he reborn as an ant, and apparantly female -
Hinscher, how are we supposed to have answers to something that's apparently a mystery in a still unreleased chapter?
Keep your cynicism to yourself until things are explained and revealed.

oh yea, cause i never see you guys post in topics like bleach, naruto, fairy tail, ect.
what makes hunter hunter immune from people bitching about it?
-
Wow, that is some twist… don't understand how it happened, but it seems like Gon will be alright since he's the only one who can appreciate this miracle to its full extent.
-

I don't read a single one of those series anymore, because they're all terrible. I just watch the threads for the occasional meme.
You said you hate it and you're tired of it. So stop reading it.
-
I don't think he's gonna stop reading it just because of the twist in this chapter, and I'm sure plenty of people continue to read mangas they don't really like anymore.

Weak argument is weak. Sure it's quite counterproductive to the discussion to make hatepost without explaining the reason for them but telling them to stop reading is also an aweful counterargument.
In my opinion the Ant Arc has been all over the place, being exceptionally excellent in some parts whereas being somewhat irritating in others.
It still doesn't sit right with me what the existence of the King means/meant to the HxH world, I think Togashi did make him a tad bit to powerful.
On the other hand, the Ant Arc did make me more interested in the world of HxH as a whole. It showed us that it's not all about nen, but that technology does play its part, too.I'm very curious how Togashi will handle the characters.
I think he handled most of the ants quite elegantly whereas I'm disappointed with what he has done with Kaito and also fear what he will do with gon. -
It's not an argument.
It's advice.
Don't read stuff you don't like.
You're gonna have to extend the same invitation to the Naruto/Bleach section.
Uhm.

Still aweful advice as there may be various reason to do so.
Be it to gain a point of comparison, be it in hope to not miss out on something great. If I would be following your advice I would have bailed out on great things like the lord of the rings, One Piece, Dragon Age, Donnie Darko just to name a few examples out of all what entertainment can offer.
And if you read his post carefully he's mostly fed up with the ant arc and the lengthy hiatuses, which i think are justified reasons to get tired of the series as whole (although neither interesting nor helpful to have a good discussion with).
We can't know if the next arc will make him become interested again, which is probably the reason that he still reads. So TLDR version your advice sucks! :P

How is
"Don't read stuff you don't like"
the same as
"Don't read stuff you enjoy"?Especially when its a series thats 13 years and hundreds of chapters in? You should know whether you like it or not by now, and if its strengths balance out its weaknesses for you.
-
@RobbyBevard:
How is
"Don't read stuff you don't like"
the same as
"Don't read stuff you enjoy"?Well since you couldn't infer it from the examples, I'll explain it to you.
Lord of the Rings is not known to be an easy read and the introduction is extremly long and at some places pretty boring. Truth to be told when I read it at first when I was 11 I didn't like it, a year later I pulled through the first book and was rewarded with a story that has one of the best worldbuilding in the genre.
One Piece, this one I didn't like either. It seemed mediocre. The Flashbacks were interesting but the first few arcs were kind of hit and miss. Didn't really enjoy the buggy, alvida, usopp recruitment or gaimon arcs. Well good thing I didn't stop to read.
Dragon Age is a wonderfull game with mechanics that are somewhat old and clunky. The first 5-9 hours are quite arduous play but well didn't stop me since when you gain more skills it becomes a lot more interesting also the story is quite fantastic.
Last but not least Donnie Darko a film that I found quite hard to understand in its entirety when watching it the first time, well same story as the three above, after watching it a few times more everything became clearer and it is now one of my favourite movies.Again TLDR your advice still sucks…
-
There is big different between slow in beginning and picking it up later on than being somewhat good at the beginning and spiraling downward to mediocrity. Naruto, Bleach, Fairy Tale haven't been good for years. And if Andre is going to start bitching after what he thinks is a bad chapter than maybe he should stop reading and come back later after the story picks up again.
-
Lol how would he know when the story picks up again without reading it? Trusting in forum post? Yeah right….

Breaking News at 10.I saw that one, too. When Santa brought me the present "Truths of the world" like a decade ago :P
It was the saddest christmas ever. -
I also think 13 years of serialization and 315 published chapters are in no way enough to make up your mind about a children comic book.
-
Hunter X Hunter is a shonen manga, but is far from being a child comic book. Is very violent, little to no action with a lot of dialogue. The main characters are not your regular "Nice guys". One being a revenge absorved guy, and a second one an assasin, and a damn good one in that. Im not saying that there is not assasins in other shonens, but Killua is portrayed in a very in your face kind of way. Togashi is not thinking about kids with his story. Only Leorio and Gon are near the shonen classic good guy.
-

Wait a couple of months for this in between period between arcs ends and start reading. Don't like it then stop again. It really isn't hard.

Doesn't make any sense, he would still have to read everything he missed, because things don't better if you lack context.
In the end he might still end up again complaining here.
It's funny how you continue to defend such nonsensical suggestions.Think before you write or least have the courtesy to be humble about your opinions…

The guy was complaining about how everything in the last arc was undone by this one chapter. Because of it he has lost respect for the manga. All I am saying is that its dumb to judge a manga because of what he sees as a bad ending of one arc. Don't read for awhile and just get into again after we're deep into the next arc. This way he doesn't have to think about what happened in the last arc as much get into the new one quickly.
-
Uh… If you'd like to get back on topic at all, I translated this week's chapter.
http://mangahelpers.com/t/kewl0210/releases/31431
You can read it there, until/if anyone scanlates it. One guy said he was going to, the one that did like 3 weeks ago. I had time to do it this week because there wasn't much talking. Here's basically what happens:
! Morau, Novu, Killua, Knuckle, Meleoron, Palm, those guys are all at a hospital where Gon is being treated. We don't see what Gon looks like now, he's behind a veil and he's on life support. They say that Palm was the only one to witness what happened to the king in the end. Because the issue got switched to international politics, they were able to get the Chimera Ants classified as a new kind of Majyuu (Evil Beasts. The kind of animal that can talk. We saw some in chapter like 10 or so, those guys that disguised themselves as a couple in the woods and their bodies had tatoos all over them.) Killua says he wnats Gon to apologize to him for going off on his own like that when they were supposed to be a team. Then Coluto tells Morau over the phone that the King's brother is saying the name he's been calling him is wrong. Then the king's brother say "My name is Kaito!". And Morau goes yelling for Gon and Killua.
-
I really want to see Gon…and the King is finally dead.
-
Damn fine chapter! Hell Yeah Gon will stay adult. That's great, I knew that Togashi had the balls to go through with it.
And return of Kaito wasn't really necessary but it won't be the same Kaito anyway.
Also Killua's development is really great too. I always knew he'd eventually leave Gon, and I like the way it's progressing. Damn, next week better come quickly!
-
The king is dead ~ long live the king.
enjoyed the chapter.
-
loli monster-girl Kite would fulfil sooooooo many fetish it's not even funny.
TG/MG/Loli all in one. Yes please.…........ what?
-
@No:
Saving reading that for tommorow as well, but good god, it looks like the bed's on fire behind that curtain, where did all the black come from ? :P
Actually I was referring to Killua's idiotic expression.
-
Any one knows, who this one in the right panel is? The one in the bed^^
http://www.mangareader.net/hunter-x-hunter/316/6
! Is it Sutto? Hope its his correct name^^ The buddy of Knuckle?

Yeah, Shoot is the name, I think.
-
Well it's not surprising he's still in bed. Shoot seriously got messed up by Yupi.
-
The arc is offically over and the king is dead wow! who knows even miura might actually get to elfhelm… anyways all in all a good chapter and I'm looking forward to how the stuff with killua and kite develop.

It's marketed at children though. So thusly we regard it as a children's comic. But I would agree that it is very dark and easily one of the most mature Shonen comics I've ever seen. Similar to Batman: The Animated Series, Gargoyles and Avatar: The Last Airbender in that respect. But still ultimately a child's comic. Just one that we take seriously, because it takes us seriously.
As for the chapter. It was a bit slower than I'd like but on the whole I liked it. Glad to finally see Killua again. And I have to admit I felt bad for him and what he's going through. Also glad that he's decided to actually do something. He's a very strong-willed individual. One of the many reasons I like him. The Kaito thing. I can kind of see why that would put people off but it's not the real Kaito so I don't think it really matters that much.
Can't wait for the next arc. Maybe it'll revolve around the Vice-Commisioner. Seems like there's something going on with that. Of course it's way too early to predict at this point.
-
I think it is Shoot/Sutto, I can't imagine who else would be there from the squad.
And now that Killua is off to gather some doctors i'm hoping we are going to finally see the return of Leorio.
-
I trust Togashi, so I'm not mad that Kaito is living on through the body he received from the queen ant giving birth after eating him (I'm assuming she ate his brain or something). BUT I thought the point of all this was for Gon to learn that no matter how hard you try, you don't always get what you want. Kaito's death was awesome, it was so unexpected and quick and unfair. Which is how death is. I trust you Togashi though.
We never did see Kaito get eaten by the queen. Perhaps part of him was, and what the queen gave birth to is like Kaito's daughter? Who knows we'll find out in a few weeks probably
Killua says he's leaving and he's going to be the one to save Gon, is he going to get Leorio? The glasses guys says he is putting together a team of doctors to help Gon, is HE getting Leorio?
Next week HXH gets the cover in Jump, perfect time to bring back Leorio and Kurapica. I can't believe this arc is over. I love togashi's aftermath chapters. Can't wait to see where the story goes from here.
Well it's not surprising he's still in bed. Shoot seriously got messed up by Yupi.
We didn't see him for like 30 chapters. I thought he was dead. I still wonder if he'll pull through. I suppose someone from the team needs to die. He never was as developed as Knuckle though, so if he is the one to die, it'll be unfortunate that we didn't get as well of a chance to get to know him
