@Don:
Okay, then what do you say about this scenario:
[hide]Robin wants to grab the soda like you pictured in your story.
But unfortunately 10 minutes before that happens Luffy got a den-den mushi call.
He got told the old trick question "Is your fridge moving?" etc, what made Luffy curious, so that he fired a gum-gum pistole at the fridge, so that the fridge was blown off the kitchen.
Sanji was now already punishing Luffy for that action while Robin wants to grab the soda without looking.
The fridge isnt in his usual position anymore ,which would have been the object she wanted to sprout her arms on..what happens there…she just feels it
s impossible now?
[/hide]
But i remembered that scene ,where she also doesn`t rly see the surface of the other side of the door, but still is able to use her ability there, which speaks for your case.
However i would now say that she has at least to see it once(at least to check her surrounding area, so that she can make a map in her mind which is the base to let sprout bodyparts later somewhere) so that she is able to use her ability in this surrounding area\on the object.
So she being in another room and listening to someone talking doesnt make it possible for her to sprout bodyparts in that other room(she never saw before) to capture those people for example even when it
s within her range.
LOOOL Okay I need to plan in the unpredictable that is Luffy into all of my scenarios from now on! xD
I agree with your idea that her acting in a room she has never seen before might be really hard, if not impossible if she doesn't know the lay out of it.
But yeah if the layout of a room she already knows changes, that would be a problem too. I'd still say she doesn't have to see an object itself to grab it. But the layout of the room and information about its exact position she has to know for sure.
If that changes, there's nothing she can do (unless she goes with that route Hinscher proposed hahaha ouch)
Also I just saw your little theory about how Surume got to Fishman Island. Seeing that Hodi actually travelled the seas, shows him in a bit of a new light. He just appeared like an insane little boy who knows nothing of the world and just lives some weird ideals he formed by listening to stories about Arlong until now. But if he actually went to the northpole, he might have gained some firsthand experience.
Maybe he actually was inspired by something or someone on his travels. Makes me take him a tad more serious. Not enough to respect him as a villain, but still.
Or maybe he just walked all the way on the seafloor like Hatchan xD
