Dunno how many of you follow this still, but since the releases have been so slow I've just been following the raws and the summaries by addenza on Mangahelpers. I finally read the latest summary (chapter 17), and figured I might as well share the missing chapters for those who are interested:
! The scene starts off with Yukio looking at his watch, telling Rin that he's entering the room. He says that Rin is going to be late and Shura is waiting for him so he should hurry up. He's shocked to find an empty room upon entering. Side text says, "The busy younger brother, Yukio, and the older brother who went out, Rin." Yukio wonders where Rin has gone to, but before he could say anything more, his phone rang. It was a message from Shura telling him that she'd be late cause she had to get a few props. She ends off by saying, "It's up to you now, cowardly boy. Shura-sama." Yukio is getting pissed off and says exasperatedly, "These two bastards/scoundrels…"
! Cover page says, "The path to becoming an exorcist is still long and laden with responsibilities...!?" (Not too sure about the last part, though. It sounds kind of weird to me. >< ) Rin, Yukio and Shura are on the page, as well as Mephisto in dog form and Rin's pet demon. I love the two to bits~
! The scene switches to the hospital, where Shima is having a conversation with his mother about everyone's injuries. Koneko has just undergone an operation the day before and is staying in the hospital for further observation. His right wrist which was broken would probably take 4 to 5 weeks to fully recover, though he would probably be discharged after a week.
Newsflash in background about the fire in the Academy's forest
After hearing something his mother said, he asks her to be more concerned about her own son, and that she was so mean. It seems like he has had two broken rib bones (and resulted in him having difficulty in breathing). His mother tells him to ignore that and asks him about Bon. Shima says that Bon is more deeply hurt emotionally than physically. Shima then asks his mother about the situation in Kyoto, saying that Bon's parents must be very worried. After listening to something his mother said to him, he asks if that was true. (As in, something has happened to Bon's parents.)
! Scene change. Rin (with his pointed ears) takes a deep breath and exhales. It seems that he's in front of the classroom door, and is nervous about entering. He slowly pulls the door open… And greets everyone with his Yukio-hairstyle. The entire classroom is shown to have only Shiemi, Kamiki, and the guy we still don't know anything about. Rin comments on the lack of people, and asks where Bon and the others are. (Well, the exact words were, "Eh... Where's the Kyoto trio?") Kamiki replies that they are at the hospital, and Koneko is hospitalised. Rin is glad that everyone is all right, but Shiemi makes a weird sound at this point and he asks her if she were still afraid of him. Yukio appears at the door with a teacher, but no one realises this, because Shiemi cries out loudly that that's not it. Rin is confused about her reason for being angry, but still wishes to apologise for it. Shiemi tells him that she doesn't want him to apologise for anything, and that Rin is...
! Yukio interrupts her by calling out to Rin. Yukio tells the others that Rin will not be having lessons with them cause he's going to undergo special training, and grabs on to Rin's sleeve. XD Rin doesn't seem aware of this situation. Yukio apologises to the teacher for interrupting his class and asks him to commence lessons. Rin tells Yukio not to grab on to him. Yukio then apologises for interrupting everyone and an irritated Rin ruffles his own hair. (I guess he was trying to appear like a good kid but it's all useless since he wasn't going to be with everyone.) Shiemi looks like she's about to cry, and Kamiki simply gave a -- face.
! The teacher comments that they should have known by then that Rin is Satan's son, and they must have been shocked. When he was first told that by Mephisto, he thought the guy was kidding, and he got a shock after hearing about it for the first time in the 4 months that he'd been teaching them. But they wouldn't need to worry cause the school has counter-measures to deal with Rin losing control. He goes on to explain that the students will be dispersed first before the teachers report it to the nearest exorcists. He then continues on with his lesson, and Shiemi looks kind of sad at his previous words.
! Flashback. Yukio explains to everyone that Okumura Rin is the child who was born after Satan bedded a human woman, and he has inherited the blue flames of Satan. Koneko wonders about Yukio, since he is Rin's twin brother. Yukio says that he hasn't inherited Satan's flames, and he's been undergoing checkups every day. Amazingly, he's a normal human. Okumura Rin's flames were sealed in the sword (sorry, I forgot the proper name again...), and had been living as a normal human for the past 16 years. Approximately three months ago, his powers were awakened because the sword was unable to hold in the flames anymore. Prior to that, he had no idea of his true identity. Shiemi thinks back to what happened three months ago when she first met him and finally understands why he said he wasn't a demon although he also wasn't a human, blah blah blah...
Bon asks Yukio for the reason Rin was raised. Yukio replies that he isn't very clear of the reason also, and is apologetic that that's all he knows about the situation and leaves the place. Bon tells him to stop but he doesn't. Shiemi's thoughts were that Yuki-chan told them about Rin as though he was conducting a lesson, and was sad that she didn't know about the two of them though she was beside them all this time.
! Back to present time. Shiemi buries her head in her textbook while Kamiki huffs at the sight.
! Scene changes to Rin and Yukio going down a flight of stairs in the school. Yukio tells Rin that he has been banned from moving about freely and he cannot go out as he wishes. Rin says in shock that he had thought that they'd discussed all the conditions already. Rin then angrily says that Shiemi should have been fiercer when she scolded him. Yukio comments that it's the first time he's seen Shiemi blow up at someone. Rin doesn't hear this, and says, "Huh?" Yukio says that it's nothing and shows Rin his new training course, telling him to enter the place.
! It seems like the training area has been booked to train Rin and Shura should be arriving soon so Rin should get down to work. A curious Rin touches a machine and asks if it's a baseball shooter. He presses a button and the machine tells him to choose a mode. Yukio tells him that that is a training device that stimulates many-on-one battle situations. Rin finds it interesting. Yukio sits down on the bench outside the cage thing where Rin is supposed to hit the incoming ball-like attacks, and Rin starts training after commenting that Yukio seems to be angry about something. Yukio denies it. (And we see Rin hitting the balls with his teeth gritted. XD)
! Rin continues with the training as he shoots down Yukio's denial, saying that Yukio was indeed angry, cause he's the older brother and he can sense it. Yukio retorts, saying that he doesn't acknowledge Rin as his older brother cause Rin was born only a few hours earlier than him (oh boy, I feel sorry for their mother - she was stuck in labour for quite a long time, I think...). Yukio asks Rin if he knows the severity of his actions, and that he should stop acting naive/dumb and be more serious. At this point, Rin got hit by a stray ball (I'll just call those things that, for the sake of convenience). He asks Yukio if being serious would solve everything. Small text says, "Damn, one more time," as he holds the spot on his forehead where he was hit. Rin continues by saying that being gloomy doesn't solve anything, because that's not the crux of the problem. It's enough to be gloomy for a day, and he was more of a "hands-on" type than a "reflecting" type of person.
! Shura appears on time to hear that, and comments that Rin was a cheerful fellow. It's a relief that Rin is such a cheerful person and an idiot. XD She's wearing something like a yutaka in mini-skirt. >.> And there's this talisman-looking tattoo on her chest (whatever that has been revealed by the clothes, anyway). She holds a sword in one hand and a big bag in the other (I can't read the other word, but the first one says wax, and it's just a big bag of candles). Shura teases Rin by saying that his tail is out in the open again, just like a monkey. It suits his idiotic face very well. Rin gets miffed at this and tells her that she's annoying him by talking about him being stupid and an idiot. Yukio has this vein-popping mark on his head as he wonders if Shura wasn't wearing her pyjamas and that she'd overslept.
! Rin tells her that it makes him feel uncomfortable that he has to hide things, so he likes the way things are right now. (As in, he's not intending to hide his tail anytime soon.) Shura says that it's good he can think like this, cause with Yukio and herself as his teachers, he will get more uncomfortable/restricted. (Meh, not too sure about the uncomfortable/restricted thing. >< ) Rin is told that he must not act on his own without Shura and Yukio, and he agrees to it with a "good-kid" face. XDDD A shocked Yukio behind Rin says that Rin doesn't understand a bit of it.
! Yukio requests to observe the training cause he still has an hour before he needs to go and teach. Shura asks if he's worried, but he denies it.
! Rin asks what he would be doing during the training, and Shura tells him that he needs to get used to his own flames. She'd prepared a big bag of candles for this purpose. Rin is puzzled and so she starts explaining it to him. He needs to put the three candles in a row and light up the two candles at the side simultaneously without lighting up the one in the middle. Yukio is speechless and Rin starts training after Shura confirms with him that he won't need his sword to release his flames. Plopping down on the floor in front of the candles, Rin gives a face of utmost concentration as he "mmpffffffffffted" with his two index fingers pointing at the targeted candles. A huge burst of flames comes out from Rin and he melts all three candles. XD Shura laughs at him, saying that rather than lighting up the candles, he was melting them. Rin tries again, and he sweeps his flame across all three candles, lighting up all three. He then lights up one after the other, but Shura says that that was unacceptable.
! Rin grabs his head in frustration and Shura comments that he was really impatient. Besides, it was only lighting candles. (That means, "It's such an easy job, why can't you do it?") She tells him to continue with this training every day for one hour until he can control the flames as he wishes. Other than that, he has to undergo physical training and gain more knowledge = hit the books. Rin is shocked that that's all there is to the training. He asks Shura if they were not going to train with the sword, cause time is running out.
! Shura replies with a question of him knowing the reason behind him getting engulfed by his own flames whenever the sword is unsheathed. Rin doesn't know, and she tells him it's because he's afraid, so he lost to the flames. He has to get used to using the flames and increase his confidence from there. He will only get to practise with a sword after that. Rin realises that she was right, and thinks that she's really incredible. He accepts it, and continues training.
! Shura calls out to Yukio, "Ara, ara. So, the cowardly glasses boy, Yukio-kun." Yukio seems a little disgruntled as he answers her with a "What? Ah, that's not it. May I ask who are you calling?" Shura tells him that she's calling him and invites him to a game of pseudo-baseball. Yukio refuses it, standing stiff at the door as Shura walks in. She tells him not to reject her outright since it will cause them to drift apart.
! The rules of the game are the same as five years ago, mode: unlimited. The one who loses concentration first will be counted as the loser. <-- That's what Shura is saying, just to regurgitate the rules again. Yukio complains that she had been saying that every time they play. Shura asks him what he had to say about that, cause it's an order from his superior (i.e. Shura).
! Flashback (to five years ago, I think?). Young Yukio misses a shot. Shura holds her wooden sword up happily and cheers, telling Yukio to treat her. Yukio flops to the floor, having lost all his strength. Shirou has just opened the door. He tells Shura to stop bullying kids, and it would be great if she could have that enthusiasm she has (for this kind of game) towards training. Shura says that it's annoying and she doesn't want to become an exorcist because it's troublesome. Yukio looks rather pissed off at this point. Shura turns to him and tells him not to forget about treating her with a goofy grin, then leaves the place. Yukio grumbles about her giving him a nickname. Shirou laughs at Yukio for being taught a lesson. Yukio curses. Shirou teases him, asking if he had just cursed. It seems like a rare occurrence. Yukio says that he hates "that person" (Shura), who has the talent but never takes things seriously. He stands up and aims his gun again. He continues, saying that the people who give it their all seem like fools in comparison. tears in Yukio's eyes He swears to win the next time. Shirou says that Yukio is being too inflexible, and that being like that might help put things in another perspective.
! End flashback. Yukio agrees, and tells her that she is not to call him cowardly glasses boy if he wins. Shura snickers and agrees, given that Yukio defeats her. Yukio retorts that if she thought that he is the same as five years ago, she is terribly wrong. Rin shouts that it's despicable that they are playing here (while he is training). Shura disagrees, and tells him to have fun with the candles. Rin curses and goes back to his candles. XD
! Yukio and Shura set up the machine and start the game. Yukio starts shooting with a serious face, while Shura is humming a tune as she hits the "balls" with her sword (wooden? I can't tell...). Rin is amazed that the two of them has hit every single one of the "balls". Shura scolds him for not being able to concentrate for even a minute, and forbids him from watching. She asks if the training method is too simple for him.
! Yukio says to Shura that it's impossible to pass the exam half a year later, and Rin's life is like a candle light in the wind. Shura happily agrees and wonders what they should do. Yukio reloads his gun and tells her that this was the result that "you guys" wanted, and she shouldn't deny that she wasn't plotting anything. Shura replies that she merely believed that they shouldn't hide any more, both for the sake of the Order and Rin, since it is something that has never occurred, and she isn't plotting anything other than that. Yukio asks her if she were that confident of crossing that bridge (i.e. making Rin's situation work out for everyone). Shura comments that she had already been standing on the bridge before that (it's just a metaphorical one, by the way). The Order wouldn't have to hide and Rin can use his flames freely. The current situation should be better than the previous one (where Rin had to keep hiding his powers, blah blah blah). Mephisto, on the other hand, is still a mystery to her, and that guy seems to be having fun with his pawns on the chessboard. If people like some guy's name I don't know how to translate into English - I'm thinking it's the teacher who attacked Rin during the camp and Amaimon are mere pawns, Shura and Yukio were likely to be pawns as well. Yukio angrily says to stop kidding him. He had sworn before Father's grave that he would protect Rin.
! Shura asks him if he knew about the qualities possessed by an outstanding exorcist. He says that it's probably the heart (emotions, I think), techniques, and physical body or something like that. Shura says that that's for certain, but the most important point is to not suppress one's true emotions. That's because demons will attack one from accumulated worry and stress, so Rin possesses the qualities to become an outstanding exorcist. It's people like Yukio who are in greater danger, cause they will accidentally become demons. Yukio asks her what she meant by that, and she tells him that from her point of view, Yukio worries her more than Rin does. Yukio thanks her for her concern, and tells her that it's okay and he would do his part. Shura comments that he has suddenly opened up his heart, and that makes her more worried. She wants to hear his true feelings. (This is, of course, said in a teasing tone.) Yukio says that his true feelings towards her is that he has always hated her. Shura laughs and says that that's good, that's how he should be.
! After saying that, she hits a "ball" at him. Yukio complains that she has violated the rules, and she says that she didn't know there was this kind of rule. Meanwhile, Rin is shocked. He could hit at most one or two balls with all his might, and he wonders if that's the true ability of exorcists. Swearing, he burns with his blue flames. Yukio and Shura are shocked, and after the smoke and flames have subsided, it reveals a speechless Rin sitting on the floor, looking innocent as his tail pops out. Here's the link because it's too cute! It's the last panel.
! Yukio and Shura are shown to be wearing nothing but their undergarments (Shura's bra was burnt off, though.), and Yukio, who is still shocked, asks Rin what he had just done. With lots of sweat on his face (cause he knows that he has done something wrong), Rin apologises. Then, he is amazed that only the clothes were burnt, the people and undergarments are still intact. He wonders if that means that he has managed to control the flames. XDDDDD Rin looks really happy. Yukio, whose surroundings has turned dark, denies it. But Rin is too much in his own world that he smirks to himself and believes in it fully. Rin suddenly runs off, and Yukio asks him where he was running to, but he got no reply from Rin.
! Shura thinks with a sigh that she was worried that Yukio would become depressed because he was under the supervision of terrible superiors, and wanted to help him relax, but it seems like it had the reverse effect. Yukio is looking more stressed. Shura comments to Yukio that it seems like there wasn't a clear result on their game. Yukio says that he seemed to feel more relaxed, and thanks her. He smiles and tells her that they will have another rematch.
! Yukio's mobile rings. Shura thinks to herself that Yukio will not always remain a coward. Yukio picks up the phone, and Rin runs back (or maybe he just stopped running away. Haha.)
! Scene changes to hospital. Koneko is on the bed, heavily bandaged. Bon is with him. Bon apologises. Koneko asks for the reason, and Bon says that the two of them got hurt because of him. Koneko agrees, and tells him to protect himself, for Shima and he will be very troubled otherwise. Bon apologises again. Koneko changes the topic, and asks Bon if the thing about the sword is true. Bon affirms this, and says that he had seen a photograph of it from the monk (his dad). Koneko says that Yukio had said so straightforwardly as well.
! Bon asks Koneko what he thinks of this, and Koneko replies that he's confused. He throws the question back at Bon, who starts to say something but is interrupted by Shima's appearance. Shima, with lots of hearts sprouting around him, tells the nurse that for her sake, he will be hospitalised even if he had to break his rib bones on purpose. He then turns to Bon and Koneko and tells them that something bad has happened: the nurses at the True Cross General Hospital are really of good quality. Bon is going to smack him with something when Shima gets serious, and tells him that something bad has really happened. Something has happened to the monk. Bon looks apprehensive.
! Scene changes back to Yukio's side. Yukio tells Rin and Shura that there's an emergency assembly 'cause a part of the old hostel at North True Cross has been polluted by spirits. An ordinary citizen seems to have been attacked, one person (has something to do with a magical barrier), and there are around ten casualties. Shura, who is buttoning up a shirt (courtesy of Rin), asks for the reason, which is currently unknown. The exorcists holding the title of Aria and Knights are to be gathered, and Yukio confirms with Shura that she is one of them too. Shura says that it's fine if they go on the mission, but Rin cannot leave their side, so they should just bring him along. smiles Rin, who was dousing the place with water, looks up in surprise. (I swear, he looks too funny in that tie without his shirt and pants <– offered that to Yukio!)
! Text on the side says, "The start of a daring move? Colour pages for this chapter!"Chapter 16:
! >! The scene starts off with that of a street, which is cordoned off. There's someone shouting, "Over there! We've found him/it/her! Give chase!"
! In an alley, there's an exorcist standing guard at the cordon tape. A mother and her son step onto the scene. The mother asks if something is happening around the area. The exorcist tells her that the situation was too dangerous for civilians, and advises her to return to her house to take cover. Upon hearing that, the mother starts to take her child away from the area. Her curious son, however, has other ideas, and shakes off his mother's hand, saying that he wanted to see how exorcists fought. This shocks the mother, who starts to chase after her son.
! As the boy skips along happily, he meets this black-caped figure, who grabs him by the throat. A close-up shows that the black-caped figure is wearing a gas mask. The mother and exorcists sitting around the area are surprised by this. One of the exorcists curses because the black-caped figure (I'll call him the "villain" from here on to minimise the number of words I have to type) has managed to get a hostage. I'm not really sure if it's the same exorcist, but one of them pleads with the "villain" to let the child go, and tells "it" that "it" has nowhere else to run to now. It would be meaningless to do something like getting a hostage. In reply, the "villain" takes out a bottle which has a ball suspended in it and sprays it. The exorcists are shocked to see the bottle, and shout for "it" to stop.
! This place is revealed to be the True Cross Academy Street (and some other specific location which I've no idea how to translate) - the poor people's residential area. There is a crowd gathered at the cordoned area, and the exorcist is trying to get everyone to back off. The curious crowd is commenting that there has been a huge commotion about this. Yukio, Shura and Rin have also arrived on the scene. Shura is already complaining that she wants to go back, while Rin is excited about this, and Yukio, as always, is speechless. Yukio exchanges greetings with the exorcist at the cordon tape.
! The trio enter the cordoned area, where there are many people lying around on the road and exorcists are tending to the injured. Yukio and Shura introduce themselves to the exorcists. One of the exorcists asks about Rin. Rin proudly announces that he is Okumura Rin, an Exwire, and tells the guy to watch him display his prowess. The exorcist is shocked, and asks if it's okay to have Satan's son around. (Of course, he didn't explicitly say that Rin is Satan's son…) Shura tells the exorcist that it's a decision by the Juridical Department, and Rin can't leave their side. She reassures them that she will be looking after him, so they should believe in him (as in, not worry about Rin being dangerous). As she says that, she holds on to him, and Rin tells her not to grab him. XD
! Yukio asks about the situation. The exorcist explaining first introduces himself as the Branch Head(? Or maybe he's the Minister?) of the Deepest Section (don't ask me what that is, I'd like to know too...), Upper Second Exorcist (not sure if I got the name right - someone correct me if I'm wrong), Fujisomething Santarou (not too sure about the name too, I'm not really familiar with kanji names). Anyway, the cause of the incident was when they discovered that the Left Eye of the King of <something>(“不净冥王”) had been stolen. Shura and Yukio are surprised. Rin has no idea what is going on. XD Shura asks how it had been done. Even in the Academy, the strongest magical barrier should have been set up in the Deepest Section. Santarou says that no one knows how it had been done either, and is still under investigation. The elites of the Deepest Section chased the "villain" to the North True Cross, where the "villain" took a child as hostage, and sprayed miasma all over everyone. The boy was then dragged away while the exorcists were distracted. The "villain" then took the boy and escaped to a certain building that the trio are brought to. The surrounding area has also been polluted by the miasma, and there have been thirty-one casualties. There's also a lack of Doctors around.
! Santarou then starts worrying about the hostage, who was closest to the "villain". He worries that the child might have died, and coupled with the theft of the Left Eye, it is the most embarrassing incident the True Cross Knights have ever experienced. The trio start to worry about Santarou, and wonder if he's really the person-in-charge of the area. Yukio tells him to calm down, and that they can only do their best right now. Shura asks if the "villain" was very strong. Santarou says that they were not sure about this yet, cause the "villain" was only running away, and didn't attack at all. They have no idea if "it's" a demon or human. Shura seems to be deep in thought. Yukio says that they have to make haste, and starts to make plans, but is interrupted by the boy's mother, who asks them to save her son.
! Rin asks if she were the boy's mother, and tells her to put her mind at ease because they would definitely rescue him. However, Yukio pushes him aside and tells her to be prepared for the worst. The mother gets upset, and Rin starts to reprimand Yukio but Yukio tells him not to participate in this mission, leaving him to Shura. Rin is disappointed, and Shura takes him away, saying that she had just thought of something she had to do. Rin grabs Yukio, protesting. But Yukio grabs him by his collar instead, saying that exorcists can't do everything. There are cases where they are unable to save the hostage, so Rin shouldn't give hasty promises. Rin shouts that no one knows what will happen if they don't try, and tells Yukio that he's a coward. Shura stops their fight.
! Yukio puts on his protective coat. Santarou calls out to him and requests to go with him. Yukio asks whether he's recovered from the miasma. Santarou says he has taken a vaccine, and asks to go with him on the grounds of being the person-in-charge. Yukio agrees, and they go into the building. Yukio will lead the way, Santarou will be in the middle, and the other two exorcists will be at the back. They bring a bird along.
! Santarou starts a conversation with Yukio, and says that he's so outstanding despite his young age. Yukio comments that Santarou's family is famous for producing exorcists, and every generation of the family has deep connections with the Deepest Section. He then asks Santarou to explain about the Deepest Section and the Left Eye.
! Explanation. 140 years ago, in the post-Edo period, the demon who spread infectious diseases which killed 40 000++ people, the King of <something>, had its eyes dug out after it was killed. Although it was only its eyes, they still emitted miasma. Yukio asks about the Right Eye (since the Left Eye exists). Santarou confirms that, and says that no one knows where the Right Eye is sealed other than the people involved as well as Mephisto. Yukio then asks about the bird. It appears to be a fake canary (I think?), which is usually quiet, but will chirp if miasma is present, so they've brought it along to track down the guy who has stolen the Left Eye.
! Suddenly, Rin appears, with his tail wagging behind him. XDDD Yukio, who is shocked, asks what Rin was doing there, and about Shura's whereabouts. Rin replies with a glint that he shook her off with all his might. He then says that it was okay since he had to follow either Yukio or Shura. Yukio: slaps hand to forehead Rin tells Yukio determinedly that he had promised the hostage's mother, so he can't just sit around. After that, he offers to hold the bird. Yukio is speechless. Handing the cage over, Yukio tells Rin to hold the cage and do nothing else. Rin smirks and promises not to do anything.
! Looking at the bird, Rin tells them that there seems to be a reaction coming from the bird, and the "villain" might be in the vicinity. A black shadow appears at the end of the corridor the group is walking in, and Rin shouts that the guy is right there. And indeed, the guy is just standing there, holding the Left Eye, and the little boy is on the floor, with boils all over his left side of the face and shoulder. Yukio exclaims that the child was still alive, but since the infection was so serious, if they didn't treat him immediately then... (he left the sentence hanging, but we know that he'll die). Right then, the "villain" noticed their presence. Pointing his gun at the guy, Yukio tells him to stop, but the guy doesn't do that, of course. So Yukio warns him to stop again and says that if he gets any closer then Yukio is going to shoot. The guy releases some black energy(light?) and drops the Left Eye (which is in a container) onto the floor. The container is shown to have cracked.
! After that, the guy is shown to have vanished from the spot. Running forward, Rin is surprised to see that the guy has vanished. Meanwhile, Yukio picks up the Left Eye and realises that it was a fake. Suddenly, he gets kicked in the back by Santarou. Rin shouts Yukio's name, and, surprised by the sudden attack, Yukio falls forward to the ground. The other exorcists are also shown to have been beaten by Santarou. Santarou comments that he had been revealed after all, but then again, he had managed to stall them for some time already. Santarou is shown to have a black shadow behind him as he tears off his protective mask.
! Yukio is shocked to see that Santarou had fallen to become a demon, and curses. He tells Rin to get the boy out of the place, cause the boy was close to death. Rin answers him with a yes, and carrying the boy, he runs out of the place.
! Santarou says that if Rin does that, he would be very troubled (as in, he wants to get rid of all evidence that he has turned into a demon), and sends his miasma after Rin. (I'm assuming that black shadow is the miasma.) Pissed off, Rin tells him not to get in his way, and releases his flames. However, that made the boils on the boy worse, and the boy falls to the ground, shouting in pain. Yukio calls out to Rin, but Santarou tells Yukio that his opponent is him. Santarou then proceeds to trash Yukio. As he does that, he tells Yukio that Yukio reminds him of his past self. To discover that his own life had been decided for him since he was born, and being unable to ask about it, using his own life like a dog for the organisation and his family. To wish to become someone like his father and older brother, but he wonders what would be left of his own life after that. And then he realised that nothing would be left, so he understood his own feelings. Of hatred towards his father, brother and everything in the world. Sitting on Yukio, he continues, saying that it was a nice thing to recognise his true feelings, as though the holes in his heart had been filled up.
! Yukio tells him that it was only because Santarou is too weak, and unable to withstand the demon's temptation. Santarou asks him if he is afraid of admitting that everyone has a weakness in his own heart. Just then, something beeps, and Santarou, looking at his watch, realises that it's time to leave. He gets off Yukio and comments that his waist hurts (LOL).
! Santarou comments that he hadn't expected to be able to meet Rin and Yukio, and the conversation was really enjoyable. Even if Yukio cannot understand/sympathise with him, his words will slowly enter Yukio's mind. At that time, he would welcome Yukio with open arms. Stepping into the shadows, Santarou disappears just as Yukio opens his mouth to stop him. Yukio then laughs to himself, telling himself to pick himself up, and he was suddenly relieved. (Not too sure what they meant about this part, though.)
! Yukio runs to Rin, who asks him what to do about the boy. Rin says that the boils started to regenerate after he released his flames, so there was suddenly a lot of boils appearing. Yukio takes off his coat and says that there's no time to send the boy out for medical help, and they had to give emergency treatment right there and then. Rin asks Yukio if he were alright, and Yukio tells him not to interfere any further.
! Yukio starts thinking to himself that he can't break any of the boils, and he had to insert the medicine straight into the cell walls(?). He tells himself to concentrate and starts poking syringes into each of the boils. But his hand is trembling and he thinks to himself that it would be just like when he was young, when he couldn't do anything but shiver and cry because he was afraid of the demons. He thinks back on Santarou's words, and he sees the image of young Rin and Shirou smiling happily at him, while he is standing alone and burying his face in his clasped hands. ("To want to become someone like my father and older brother, but what is left of my life after that? Nothing at all." "Ebveryone has a weakness in him, are you afraid to acknowledge that?")
! Rin suddenly shouts for Yukio, who has pierced himself with a syringe while cursing. Yukio tells himself to stop shivering, because he is different from his past self. He manages to save the boy after that, and they return him to his worried mother. The mother thanks him. Rin is shown to be standing a distance behind Yukio, seeming to be deep in thought.
! Mephisto arrives on the scene, saying that it was expected of Okumura-sensei. He says that Yukio had done a good job. Shura is also beside Mephisto. Rin is shocked to see Mephisto.
! Mephisto says that he was there to see if they were alright, and they had fallen into the enemy's trap (it was a diversion). Rin and Yukio are confused, and Mephisto elaborates that the real Left Eye had been stolen. Shura adds that her familiar is currently following the enemy. Yukio asks about when that happened. Shura explains that she thought that the uncle (Santarou) was acting weird, so she went off to investigate. Mephisto adds that although they hadn't gotten the full details, it seemed like the Right Eye had been stolen as well. He comments that things were getting serious, and to retrieve the Left Eye, they had to gather the elite troop to chase after the enemy. He tells Yukio to join in as well. Yukio asks him if he wanted him to join, and Mephisto confirms it. Because they don't understand the enemy's objectives, so he wished for Yukio, who was in contact with the enemy to take part, and it wasn't as if Yukio were totally incapable of joining the troop as well. Yukio agrees to it, and Mephisto tells him to gather at the base in an hour's time.
! Yukio tells Shura to take care of Rin. Shura agrees, and comments to Rin that although Yukio was only 15, he seemed to be much more mature than that. She grins and says that he'll definitely become bald prematurely. XD Rin shouts to Yukio that he would definitely catch up with him, and to watch him do it. Yukio says, "Brother, catch up with me? Impossible. You don't have to tell others about this kind of joke." Rin gets pissed. Yukio tells him that he is very busy, and he can't look after Rin forever. Yukio thinks to himself that he is himself (he's just coming to his own conclusion about Santarou's words). He tells Rin to work hard, and Rin trembles in anger, cursing Yukio. Rin shouts that he'll become so great, Yukio's jaw will drop in surprise. XDDD
! Scene changes to the classroom. The Kyoto trio are back, and Shiemi and Kamiki are in there as well. Koneko asks Bon if he had called his parents yet, and Bon says that he wasn't going to do that because he came to study as an exorcist against his parents' wishes, so he was prepared to be kicked out of the house already. Shima says that although it's like that, he had a very bad feeling about this, as he couldn't contact his family since yesterday. Koneko says that it's the same for him, and wonders if the situation is so serious that not even the monk... (he left the sentence hanging) Bon says that he'll consider calling his parents.
! There's a knock on the door, and Shima comments that the teacher is finally here. The Kyoto trio gives a O_O and =.= face upon seeing the new arrival. Mephisto greets everyone and congratulates them on getting the chance to participate in a real fight/mission. A mission to Kyoto with the elite troop. And he opens this ball thing with confetti coming out and a banner with words that are supposed to wish for a safe trip to Kyoto (or something like that, the words are cut off). Everyone is shocked and Koneko turns to Bon.
! Small text at the side says, "All the members head towards Kyoto with an uneasy atmosphere!"</something></something>Chapter 17:
! >! Chapter begins with Rin trying his best to control his flames (but failing). It seems like he has been practising in secret every morning in a secluded area, because Shura suddenly showed up and asked him about his secret practices. Then, Shura surprises him by telling him that she'll be bringing him to Kyoto, and passes him a tourist's guide on Kyoto. Rin and Kuro are very excited about the trip because Rin didn't go on the middle school trip to Kyoto, and Kuro is just easily excitable(:
! Scene changes to the train station, and Shura is on the phone with Yukio. It appears that she's been made the leader of the backup team, although she tried her very best not to be selected. (XD She just wants to slack off! She's a bit like Rin before Shirou died…) She's also saying that she feels like vomitting because she woke up too early. XDDD Anyway, 2 cabins have been booked just for the exorcists, and Shura brings Rin into one of them, telling him to stay put there while she goes to the other cabin to settle the other exorcists down.
! As she is leaving, Shiemi (she's getting prettier!) enters the place and sees Rin, who is looking through the guidebook with Kuro (that little guy is so cute~ he's excitedly talking about the tourist attractions together with Rin!). Rin looks up from the book and greets Shiemi. Although Shiemi wants to greet Rin, she somehow can't do it and ends up greeting "Good morning" to the air. XD Rin is kind of confused at her behaviour but doesn't get a chance to ask her about it because the Kyoto trio has just enterred the cabin. Rin cheerfully greets them and is glad that they've recovered but Bon and Koneko blatantly ignore him and walk past him. Shima tells them that they are being too obvious (and ignores Rin as well -.-). <okay, actually,="" bon="" wanted="" to="" hit="" rin="" initially,="" but="" was="" stopped.="">(By the way, the human exorcists are supposed to get some vaccine to guard against the poison of the miasma.)
! The trio ends up sitting behind Rin (and Shiemi disappears magically! Where is she sitting anyway?). Koneko asks if it weren't dangerous letting Rin sit together with them - what if he lost control again? Shima tells him to treat Rin as something they mustn't touch. Rin gets depressed about his current situation but tries to comfort himself that that's how others would see him. [Sounds like he's speaking from experience… Which is probably the case.] (These people are seriously evil, just because Rin is a half-demon doesn't mean that he can't feel hurt at their actions! After all, they did interact with each other on a daily basis as friends!)
! Kamiki enters the cabin. Shima waves to her and tells her to sit beside him, but she chooses to sit next to the gloomy Rin instead. Rin is surprised by her actions but doesn't say anything. Kamiki asks him if he has a problem (and he denies it).
! And so, the train ride begins. Shura starts briefing the group about the mission and talk about the King of (Impurity? I really have no idea how to translate that name - it sounds weird in English…). It was an upper-level demon which appeared in the post-Edo era, specialising in causing pandemics (and spreading diseases). It caused the deaths of some 40 000 people at the time. The Left and Right Eyes came about because of this monk who killed it, but he had to get evidence that the demon was killed, so he dug up the corpse and took both of its eyeballs as evidence. (By the way, I wonder if this has anything to do with Amaimon's brother looking for eyeballs? xP) But even if it's just the eyeballs, they still emitted huge amounts of highly poisonous miasma.
! Rin wonders if people had liked to prove themselves even in the past. image of chibi monk holding up the eyeball, saying that he's gotten it (XD That was seriously cute in a morbid way, and reminds me of Koneko...)
! Shura concludes by saying that they've no idea why the enemy is after the Eyes, but it can't be anything good. Hence, they have to prevent the same thing from happening to the Right Eye. Their mission is to save the injured exorcists stationed in Kyoto, and to serve as reinforcements, while the Exwires are to support the team. After that, Shura suddenly reverts back to her carefree attitude. XDDD Then she goes to sleep with a smile. -.-
! Kamiki takes a nap, but Rin interrupts her, asking if she weren't afraid of him. She denies it, and even tells him that there are many exorcists who have demon ancestors as well. People are more wary of him only because he's Satan's son, and they do not know what to do with him. Rin is surprised by this piece of information.
! She then starts attacking the Kyoto trio for their idiocy while talking to Rin, saying that there was no need to make a mountain out of a molehill. (Bon: ...) Rin asks her if she's comforting him, and tells her that she's really nice. XDDD Poor Rin. Embarrassed, Kamiki asks Rin why he called her "Thick Eyebrows", and tells him that her name is Kamiki... something (sorry, I suck at guessing names). Rin happily calls her by her name, and she screams at him, saying that she didn't give him permission to call her that. Shura, who is still dozing off, complains that it's so noisy, she can't sleep.
! Kamiki starts to taunt the Kyoto trio again by saying that the trio said some nice words about defeating Satan and being friends, but once something happens, they flee. Bon and Shiemi look troubled at these words. She ends off by saying that she hates cowards like that. Bon gets pissed off and asks if she dares to say everything just because they didn't speak, shouting that he isn't a coward. Rin is shocked, and Kamiki smirks. She asks them what they were, then. Bon swears.
! And the entire group of Exwires are punished by having to hold on to the rock demons (the one that Yukio punished them with in the earlier chapters) and kneeling. XDDD Personally, I feel that Shura is just irritated cause they woke her up. One of them asks why is it a shared responsibility again. Shura tells them it's to make them work together, and they had better sober up before they reach Kyoto. With a pissed off face, she warns them against getting up. Shima exclaims that Shura is really mad this time. Shura leaves the cabin.
! Shima comments that they were really prepared, to actually have the stone demons with them. He then smiles and says that Bon and Kamiki haven't changed their bickering at all. (Okay, who votes that Kamiki and Bon will end up together? O_O) Bon is embarrassed while Kamiki just tells Shima that he's annoying. Koneko starts to panic because Rin is being kept together with them. Rin and Shima are shocked at his proclamation. Suddenly, the stone demon on Koneko's lap gains power, and leaps into the air, landing on Shiemi's back. (I wonder what the hell is wrong with the mangaka? Why is she making Shiemi the victim all the time?) It seems like the stone demon had some ancient powers mixed into it, and it will get heavier as time goes by, so they should move it away as soon as possible. Bon and Shima try to get it off her by holding the stone up together, but they couldn't even lift it. Shima tries with his staff, and fails as well. Koneko says that they should get Shura, but Bon refuses, saying that they weren't allowed to stand up.
! In the end, Rin decides to try. As he tries to lift it, it gets heavier, and he ends up releasing his flames (by accident? I've no idea). Everyone else is shocked, but Shiemi realises that the flames are not burning her at all. Instead, it's a pleasant warmth. Bon grabs Rin, telling him to stop it. Rin snaps back to reality, and the stone demon flies off. Half the cabin has been burnt by the flames. Shima wants to get exorcists, but Shiemi tells them not to blow matters out of proportion, because Rin didn't lose control.
! Kamiki summons one of her fox to douse the flames. Rin is shocked that the seats are all burnt. And the demon was gone. Pissed off, Rin grabs Bon by the collar and asks him why he had interrupted him when he was doing fine. Bon mutters his disbelief about that, and Rin tells him to believe in him. Bon refuses to, telling him that the disciples of his family's temple died because of those flames 16 years ago. Rin realises that Bon was talking about the Blue Night. Bon starts shouting that those blue flames killed everyone there. His uncle, Shima's uncle and oldest brother, as well as Koneko's father. Bon exclaims that the temple's disciples were like his family, so he can't trust Rin after his family had encountered such things.
! Rin gets angry as well, because it had nothing to do with him at all. Bon remembers that Rin wanted to defeat Satan. Rin replies that he shouldn't lump Satan and him together. Koneko suddenly grabs Rin's sleeve, telling him to leave Bon at once. Koneko's hand is shaking as he says that if Bon feels that they are his family, then he shouldn't do things impulsively. If anything happened to Bon, Shima and him would be unable to face the people back at the temple. Shima notices the stone demon coming for Bon and warns him about it. Shura slices it and lands on top of the cabin seats, complaining that they can't even deal with such trivial demons. She warns them that they would die if they start arguing on the battlefield itself. Everyone looks ashamed of him or herself. The PA announces the train's arrival at Kyoto.
! The civilians are amazed at the appearance of exorcists, and wonder if they didn't feel warm wearing the coat. Kuro gets all excited about the place like a kid, asking about the Kyoto Tower (uh, I don't know the real name, so I'm just writing it as it is), and says that it's very cool. "XD" (I want Kuro!) Rin admires the tower as well. Someone picks the team of exorcists, and leads them on a bus.
! dead silence on bus Kuro is excitedly telling Rin to look at all the scenery while Rin has a dark look on his face. Shima moans about the heavy atmosphere, which he isn't good with. They reach a ryokan (I think that's what it's called? It's just like a motel, I believe.) which has been booked exclusively for them. As the Exwires walk into the ryokan, the workers there see Bon and welcomes him warmly. (Wow. I wonder just what kind of a guy he is to have so many people calling him Young Master... Isn't he just the son of a monk?) Bon looks a little embarrassed and Shima and Koneko are grinning away. Rin, Kamiki and Shiemi are shocked at the workers' words.
! Small text by the side, "The warmly welcomed Young Master...!?"</okay,>
Chapter 18:
! >! NOTE: O_O I don't know how to translate the title! ;; It's supposed to mean that two people/parties have fallen out with each other, but I can't translate it into English properly, so just bear with the one I came up with until Queen comes out with her translations! ^^;;
There's also a lot of people + new information introduced this chapter, but since I suck at guessing Kanji names, I'll just skip over them or something. ><
! Anyway, it turns out that the ryokan (is that the correct name?) belongs to Bon's family, and everyone in the ryokan is pleased to see their young master back. They went to get Bon's mother out. Bon tries to stop them, telling them that he wasn't back on a holiday, but to fulfil his mission. Of course, no one listened to him. XD
! Bon's mother enters the scene, calling for him. Bon's face went ==
Her expression changes almost immediately when she sees him, scolding him for dying his hair, and asks him whether he wants to become a rooster in the future with that hair of his. She continues that Bon had made the resolution not to return to their house when he left for the True Cross Academy, and demands to know why he is back. Bon shouts back that he only returned to finish his mission, and would be living there temporarily. He tells her that his hair is not like a rooster, it's his character/style. His mother retorts, asking him what he was doing trying to have his own character/style, she didn't give birth to him for that purpose, and she wouldn't forgive him for that.
! Meanwhile, Shima is trying to stifle his laughter, thinking that he knew that Bon would get scolded for his hair. Kamiki and Rin are looking rather stunned, and Kamiki wonders what's happening between the mother and son.
! Koneko and Shima go to greet Bon's mother, who seems glad to see them, and comments that it must have been tough on them to have to protect Bon. A miffed Bon shouts in the background that he doesn't need any protection. Bon's mother finally realises that there are other people around, and says that she has embarrassed herself in front of strangers. She introduces herself and thanks the others for having taken care of Bon. (And Bon is getting embarrassed…)
! Chapter cover shows Bon leaning against the wall of his home(?), text on page reads, "Frustrated- The bustling Kyoto-"
! Rin is surprised that Bon's mother is a beauty (and his mental image of Bon's ugly family has had the mother crossed out - the mother says, "We're having fried pork chop tonight!"; Bon says, "Okay.") Shima tells them that the ryokan is Bon's house. Rin is confused, because he thought that Bon's house was the temple which had been burnt down. Bon's mother says that although the temple could no longer continue operating, their family's ryokan has continued its operations. She's pleased that Rin called her a beauty, and says that he's a honest lad. The temple was just an extra source of income, and the revenue from tourists and devotees weren't ideal, so it was a rather slack job.
! Kamiki sniggers, because she thought that Bon was some special person for Shima and Koneko to call him young master, but he was just the son of the ryokan owners. XDDD Bon is embarrassed, and tells her that he could hear her.
! Shura enters and thanks the okami (Bon's mother) for taking care of them. She gives the okami a gift (can't tell what it is - it reads Tokyo no kurotasu?). The okami says that the exorcists had always taken care of everyone as well. Shura tells her that she had just gone to visit the exorcist-in-charge of the Kyoto branch, so they would have to go to the branch soon. They would be leaving half of their Doctors around to take care of the casualties. Shura asks the Kyoto trio if they wanted to visit their families since it was a rare chance for them to return home, and they agree. Shura then gets the rest to follow one of the teachers to help out. Rin asks her if him helping out was okay, and she tells him not to make things worse, it's also part of the training. Rin doubts it...
! Scene changes. The Kyoto trio visits Shima's father, who is the exorcist-in-charge of the branch. He seems to be severely injured. He gets up to greet Bon, then starts coughing like crazy. The okami tells him that he didn't need to get up, but he says that it's alright since he'll recover fully in two weeks. He gets worried about the situation because he's the I/C and has gotten himself severely injured. Bon wonders if everyone has severe injures, but his mother tells him that it's fine, because no one will die if they get proper treatment (but the injuries are quite bad currently). Bon is relieved, and Shima's father is glad that Bon is fine. Bon replies that it's due to everyone's help. Shima's father praises Koneko for having protected Bon well. Koneko, whose arm is still in a cast, denies it, saying that he just ran around the place without knowing what he was doing. Shima tries to get his father to praise him as well, complaining that his rib bones were broken, and it hurts to breathe. Shima's father hits him on his head and scolds him instead, saying that he was probably standing in a corner. He scolds Shima for dying his hair pink, and he didn't give Shima his staff to dye his hair. Shima says that he was doing his job, holding the part of his head where his father had hit him. Koneko speaks up for him, and Shima tells him that he didn't imitate him (not too sure about this part...).
! Bon asks about his father, who seems to have gotten injured as well. Shima wonders if Bon's father had also been poisoned by the miasma. Bon's father was at the branch "to play" when the incident occurred, and sprained his back because of the shock, but has recovered since. Bon is speechless. He wants to speak to his father (the idiot!), who doesn't have a habit of bringing his phone with him, and should be "at the temple".
! Scene jumps to Rin's side. Kuro is standing on Rin's head (and will be there for the rest of the time, by the way, in various amusing poses as we'll see later). Kamiki exclaims that there's a lot of people in there, and the teacher says that there's 15 more people in the inner room. These patients have sustained minor injuries. A look into the room (which is really big) shows that there's a lot of patients lying on futons and there's only a few people taking care of all of them. Shiemi ties up her hair, determined to make herself useful this time. They're told to go to the kitchen to get the tea which is supposed to detoxify the poison, and disinfectants. As Rin is about to leave with the others, the teacher grabs his collar (and Kuro almost slides off his head), telling him to go pick up the non-existent rubbish in the room. He picks something up, thinking that it was rubbish, but it turns out to be one of the helpers' single strand of hair on his head. LOL.
! And so, Rin gets sent around the place, trying to find someone who would give him something to do. At the end of it, Kuro is shown to be exhausted, and lies on Rin's head. (It's too cute!) Rin is angry, saying that he's not needed anywhere. Bon's father calls out to him, asking him to help cut the watermelons. Rin happily bounces over with a limp Kuro still on his head. He gets to work happily, and Bon's father is rather shocked to see Rin's tail sticking out. (Hmm. Maybe that's why he didn't get anything to do?)
! Rin smells the alcohol on Bon's father, and asks him about it. Bon's father replies that the weather was too hot, so he couldn't resist. Rin comments that he reminds him of Shirou. Bon's father tells him that he's an interesting kid. He asks Rin for his name, (and makes the observation that Rin is a student at the True Cross Academy), and is surprised to hear that he's Okumura Rin. He says, "Is that so? So it's you..." Rin asks about his identity, and he tells him that he's Bon's father. Rin is shocked, and crosses out his last mental image of Bon's father. Bon's father says that the two of them look alike, but Rin says that Bon is a bit more handsome. XD Bon's father looks kind of disappointed at that. He asks about Rin's relationship with Bon, and Rin tells him that they just had a fight. Bon's father tells him that he was currently engaged in a quarrel with his son as well. (Kuro jumps off Rin's head.)
! Rin says that Bon makes him angry, but Bon is a good person, so they will definitely patch things up. Rin finishes cutting the watermelon, and asks Bon's father to bring it there, but he climbs over the wall, telling Rin that he was happy to have met him, and they would chat again if they meet next time.
! Scene changes to Shiemi and Kamiki's side. Shiemi admires how Kamiki is able to take care of the patients, and drops the kettle full of boiling water on Kamiki. The helper there sends Shiemi out to get herbs, and she agonises over how she can't help at all. She can't even summon Nii-chan out ever since she was attacked by the demon moths. As she sinks deeper and deeper into the sea of self-agonising, Kamiki interrupts her thoughts, telling her not to block the way, because she's here to get the herbs also. Kamiki tells her not to keep things to herself, and say out the things that she wants to say. Shiemi says that she can't help at all, and always drags everyone down with her. If this continues, when they meet with danger, she won't be able to help at all, because she's useless. That's why Rin and Yukio don't tell her about "that kind of important thing" <-- Rin is Satan's son. Shiemi starts crying. Kamiki is shocked, and tells her to stop crying while asking her what was wrong. Shiemi says that she can't accept it and wants to become stronger. Kamiki says that she can't say whether Shiemi is amazing or thick-skinned to be able to say words that make goosebumps come up all over her skin without getting embarrassed. (She also acknowledges Shiemi as a friend, but I've no idea how to put that into the sentence.) Kamiki says that Shiemi is like the wild grass which grows all over the place unashamedly, and tells her to stop crying. To Kamiki's surprise, Shiemi says that she loved wild grass a lot, thanks her and tells her that she would work as hard as the wild grass. It leaves Kamiki to wonder about the thickness of Shiemi's skin, and is too amazed for words.
! Rin enters the place, balancing a plate of watermelon on his head and one on each of his hands (Kuro is standing on his shoulders). He asks them what was going on, and if they speak clearly, it will seem silly. If they want to say anything, they should hurry and say it out.
! He walks into the patients' room, where the patients are arguing about Shima's father's capability to lead, and whether he should resign or not. The two parties start arguing about how the incident would not have happened if the other party were more alert. Rin is shocked, because he thought that Kyoto was an elegant place.
! Scene changes to the Kyoto branch. (I think it's) Shura says that it's indeed very elegant (nya~). It's very close to the ryokan, and the one leading tells them that a key is needed to enter the branch. They enter the basement of the branch, which has magical barriers as strong as the one in HQ, although it's smaller than the basement in the Academy. Shura comments that despite so, both places have been invaded. The reason behind HQ's basement invasion is the personnel, and asks about the reason for the one in Kyoto. It seems that the people related to the case have all been poisoned by miasma, so they can't do a proper investigation.
! According to the guide's analysis, it could have something to do with a religion, which is part of a different branch of Buddhist belief. It retains its own beliefs and rules. It teaches people to pray to Buddha and places emphasis on exorcism. Half of the Kyoto branch personnel believes in this religion. The structure of the Kyoto branch emphasises on protecting the bloodline of the warrior. After the Blue Night, the scale of the basement has been largely reduced, but the tradition of protecting the bloodline has remained. The leader of this religion is Bon's father. Theoretically, everyone is his disciple, but he doesn't preach or become an exorcist, relying on his wife's money to fool around. Rumours have it that Bon's father does not live up to his name as the leader and is instead a rude monk. If the superior is like that, the subordinates cannot be any better. The two families who have taken over Bon's father's duties have a terrible relationship.
! Scene changes to the arguing patients. The guy (second son of the family, also an exorcist) starts to attack the girl (oldest daughter of the other family, a lower ranked exorcist than the guy) with his staff, calling them snakes. The one with the staff appears to be Shima's family, by the way. They're in charge of the security on ground level, and the "snakes" are in charge of the security in the basement. The girl transforms her hand into a snake, telling the guy to keep his stick if he doesn't want to get injured. The guy refuses, and tells the others to hide his actions as he attacks. He throws out his staff, and the Doctors shout at them to stop, especially since they are injured. The snake dodges the staff, and the Doctors shout for help in stopping the snake, since they can't fight.
! Bon manages to stop the snake with an incantation (Seal of Protection), telling them to stop fighting. The guys are glad to see Bon back. Bon scolds them, saying that the enemy could attack at any time, and it wasn't the time to fight among themselves.
! Kuro comments that no one would want to eat the watermelons, and Rin agrees. Bon is angry at the situation, and thinks about his father (probably about how he wants to knock some sense into his father and lead the people properly).
! The guys claim it to be the "snakes' fault", and the girl huffs, saying that even if Bon is the descendant of the leader, she doesn't have to listen to his scoldings. She would report it to Bon's father directly. The guy is angry with the girl for using that disrespectful tone with the young master, but Bon agrees with the girl. He tells them to stop fighting, because they are creating trouble for the other patients, and leaves. Rin, Shima and Koneko watch him leave.
! After hearing about the history of the Kyoto branch, Shura says that the structure/hierarchy(?) of the Kyoto branch is really simple to understand. The guide leads her (and the team of exorcists she brought) to the Right Eye, which is in a bottle and has lots of talismans surrounding it.
! Text on page says, "They must protect this eye!"[/hide]_
