@Urouge:
What evidence is there that he's stronger than the 3 princes? Especially combined?
Well just an assumption of how the story will unfold. Even if they can handle all those lieutenants they will undoubtedly loose to Hodi probably very badly. Logically Jinbe will do noticeably better.
@akagami7:
Knowing a certain style doesn't explain it but it makes a huge difference between him and the ones who doesn't know it, just like haki or rokushiki, unless you have your own style to counteract.
The age has affected the strength of the king so we can't compare him to jinbe.
His style has nothing to do with why he is stronger than everybody else at FI. He is stronger in every single category.
King's age is irrelevant. Talking only about how they compare now.
you say that tiger got strong becausehe had adventured, the same can be applied to jinbe, this is his background:
1- he lived in fishman district, a placed unhabitted by criminals, he makes himself stronger and managed to be the second strongest after tiger
2- he entered in the army, got more experience in battles, just like hodi did, he became strong enough to have some underlings before leave.
In any point 1 or 2 he learned fishmen karate (i think in 1 but whatever) since the first time we see him use it is in the sun pirates.
3- he joined sun pirates for 3 years what gives him more experience and he got stronger in that time
4- tiger die, he became captain, Strawberry recognizes his strength (which grew up in those three years, jinbe didn't left the army at shichibukai level only for know karate gyojin)
5- he stays at least one year as captain before be shcihibukai, more experience in battles
6- he becomes a shichibukai, forced to act when the wg requires it, and he know Whitebeard in NEW WORLD, these two factors will make him become stronger.
Jinbe did not adventure around like Tiger..
1. And #3 is so far behind they don't even count in the rankings.
2. So did Hodi and thousands of other soldiers. Yet apparently there are no other Elites even remotely comparable to the Princes, let alone Jinbei. Hell there aren't even any remotely close to base Hodi, his lieutenants, or Arlong's crew. Pretty sure any of these characters could at least put a scratch on a ES using seabeast.
He was over 30 leaving the Island. No way he only learned FK then.
3. So did dozens of other Fishmen.
4. At 70 million he was already strong enough to give a Rear Admiral bandages. He was already much stronger than many 100mil pirates before leaving his island. See no reason his or Strawberry's power would significantly increase by the time Ace came on the scene. No Jinbe already had most of his power when first leaving the Island. It didn't double seeing as he was already close to middle age.
5. Applies to the rest of the gang as well.
6. The vast majority of his power and experience came before ever setting foot in the New World.
Plenty of fishman do or can meet these points but again they are not remotely close to his level. There is no logical reason except Oda wishes it so. Same background but Oda made Jinbei exceptionally strong while every other Fishman comparatively weak.
there isn't any fishman in the story which more experience in battle than jinbe, this and a good level in the karate gyojin is waht make him stronger than any other fishman. there isn't any gyojin with the same background
Yes because Oda chose to write it that way. Entire army of fishman with varying levels of water control and experience keeping their island safe from slavers and pirates passing through and nobody stands out? If there is a dojo then there has to be peers of his. Maybe there are but that begs the question why 0 came from the army.
you underrate fishmen karate, it makes you able to control the water, If you're skilled enough, you can beat most short-distance fighters. let's see the skills of the others fishmen introduced in the story
drop water–--fishmen karate, control water, so that attack is easy of stop
merman combat--- no idea about it, but someone mastered in him would have chances against jinbe
weapons-- they use swords, tridents and spears, indefense at this kind of techniques

If Vander decken had touched jinbe, he would be a far better oponent for him than any other fishmen, well, hodi could be the exception since he only has dropped water and use raw strength he could have more techniques.
Wait for other fishmen able to use karate gyojin or haki before say that jinbe is stronger than every other fishmen.
I'm talking purely power and speed. Bringing up Fishman Karate just makes the difference all the more clear. Fishman karate has nothing to do with surviving a fist through your body or not being bothered after catching a Magma Fist. I doubt Namur could match those feats. Decken's fruit means shit to Jinbe. By the time a projectile got in range of Jinbe he'd have dashed forward and knocked Decken's head off before Decken could react. Now if Decken handling a Jet attack was more than toon durability(like buggy surviving his own bomb) then that is one fishman who may actually be something and I'll take that back but Decken still looses.
Your karate point would hold more weight if the only other known user of it was noticeably stronger than his friends because of it. That doesn't mean they are the only two. Honestly it seems the entire army has knowledge of the fighting style yet there is no Blueno to Jinbe's Rob Lucci either in the army or the thugs. In the end Fishman karate has little to do with my point. No karate the difference between Jinbe and others would still be apparent.
this is like say that shanks has haki because he is stronger.
skill isn't the same that strength
That is exactly right. He is a man with two tours through the New World and training from 2 of the very best. Skill has nothing to do with his Haki shattering planks and fishman Karate has nothing to do with why he is so much stronger than the rest of his race. He is simply a freak with an unremarkable background. Different style same difference in strength.
