@Hinscher:
you can dodge EVERY single move in the game. so even if they do a special attack you can dodge it and they are shit out of luck, so no ssj4 gogeta can't beat all, it goes to skill
and besides, should he not? should ssj4 gogeta be the same strength as raditz?
the only bad thing about tenkaichi 3 was the steep learning curve.
Wrongo. The bad thing was the immense balance issue. And no, I'm not saying SSJ 4 Gogeta should have the same strength as Raditz.
Budokai 3 handled it in the perfect way, which, ironically is just how the series handled it. The more powerful you got, the quicker your ki drained, forcing you to go on the offensive.
If you wanted to go SSj4 fine, but now your ki is dropping like hot cakes, your opponent can play the waiting game and tire you out, or wait until your fusion runs out.
There's risk to the reward. It makes the game balanced when characters who can't power up can come back by playing keep away. That's why Budokai 3 is held in such high regard. Whenever you did something, there was a consequence.
The BT series simply doesn't have that. Blast Stock gauges are hardly a cost when you can stay uber powered forever, to make matters worse… the transformations in Dragonball simply don't work that way. Goku could only stay in Super Saiyan for long periods, when he went past that, he got a time limit put on him, as did frieza.
Not only is Budokai 3's method a good game mechanic, it's a canon one.
@Hinscher:
you can't have someone come over and play the game with them unless they also own it. it would be zero fun, they would suck too much.
That's not a good thing. At all. Have you ever tried hosting a game night before? This game makes you look like a bully.
@Hinscher:
budokai are nice quick arcade style games you find at "an arcarde". anyone can pick up and mash their buttons to victory.
I hate to break it you… BT and Budokai are the same in that regard, a expert in Budokai 3 simply won't lose to a noobie, simply because the experience player would probably teleport behind them immediately, and then murder them.
At least Budokai 3 doesn't have a built in INFINITE. In BT3 they even tell you how to do it, when you hit full power, mash melee, and ta-dah. To make matters worse, the only way out of it is the Z-Burst technique a combo breaking method that is glanced over so quickly in the tutorials that I couldn't find it to show my friends.
Do I hate BT3 no. The problem with it is, it's a good DBZ similator, but it's sacrifices balance. You'd be surprised how many people were actually upset that I can beat Broly with Arale (even though I explained she cracked the earth in one punch).
I also think another main difference is the Budokai series is straight forward, BT you have to read menu's just to learn every little thing your character can do. (Though sometimes even the menu isn't clear.) I had no clue I could use after-image while firing a Kamehama until someone swung at me.
