It was kinda a good thing you told me to take them down, now Im in the mood to start watching one peice again (stopped watching at the filler after Robin joined) and make a new sig.
The Funniest/Worst HK Subs moments
-
-
Here are a couple of HK's from G8 arc
-
Nami was dressed like that in one of the movies, she is in a filler too?
-
I think that's G4 arc…
And I saw her wearing it in Bon Voyage...
-
no she wears it in movie 4.
-
Then why did he say it was a episode?
-
-
warp, get your facts straight!
-
i've read this whole thread, and no one menchioned once about how Vivi's name is spelled in the HK subs. (Wie Wie) I peed myself laughing everytime I saw that on screen.
-
Omg! Vivi is an offspring of Pee-wee!
-
can't believe no one mentioned when Gold Roger said at the beginning of the series "I left all my treasure.. over there!".
-
I always thought that was a joke, if he actually said that then HK subs are officially "Joke Subs". LMFAO
-
I don´t understand why "over there" is so much worse then "at that place". Is it a language thing? :molly:
-
"Over there" suggests that it could be buried beneath the very plaza, a few meters away from Roger, and that he's indicating this location.
In other words, "over there" indicates something in Rogers field of vision, whereas "at that place" could be anywhere. -
Well then it is a language thing. Because in german "that place" would also be something that would be in the field of Rogers view.
It could also mean that it is on the other side of the world, buth then he would have to hold a map in his hand, point somewhere and say "that place". That would then actually again be within his visible field. It wouldn´t be the area he´s in, but the "that" refers to a location he can point towards and even if it is just on a map.
-
"Over there" was referring to to the shop a few feet away from the tower. XD
Did anyone else find the irony in how Ace is called Ice?

That's true, but that would mean emphasizing the "that".
"That place", unlike "over there", can also be taken as an "inside joke"; the location would be obvious to his crew, but the rest of the world is confused. -
LOL at Roger's quote.
Roger: I left it…OVER THERE!
Everyone: Huh? Looks
Roger: Suckers! Runs off
The other comments have made me laugh so much, my sides hurt.

Same dude and yours did a good job aswell. LMFAO
But come to think of it….why didn't Gold Roger frickin try that?!
-
XD Do the HK subbers do these things on purpose?

XD Do the HK subbers do these things on purpose?
Sometimes I think they do but. Maybe it's because they do't know very good english.<_<
-
Hey, its like coming back from old times, I totally "grew up" on HK subs. I remember getting my first one piece HK boxset in the mail…ON NASTOLGIA.
But yeah, I grew up with Monch D Roof and Suron. Of course I knew there names were Luffy and Zoro. Lol I got so used to it though, even though I knew everyones names, when I started watching KF I was like "woah why are they calling Sunkist sanji?!" then I was like "oh yeah, his name is Sanji. I knew that. I swear I knew that."
-
There, there. pats
Its ok, things like that can fool even the biggest Otaku.
-
LOL at Roger's quote.

LOL! OMFG! That'd be so funny if that really happened.
-
Unknowingly, I bought the first 120 episodes of HK. This was before I ever came to this site, of course. Some of the names I found really funny, but I can't remember many besides those previously stated.
Buggy = the Clown Captain Parchy. Which I always found hilarious.
Don Kreig = Pirate Leader ClickAnd Carne and Mihawk… Don't get me started. I couldn't pronounce those if I wanted to. Also, Sanji being Sunkist was so amusing I actually turned on Chinese audio and listened for it. Right there, loud and clear. So funny.
-
Kagu, Icepark, Aokizi. XD
Watched Alabasta a while back, and got a weird suprise. When Sanji called Crocodile as Mr. Prince at Rain Dinners, the den den mushi went
"Ling! Ling! Ling!"
XD ENGRISH!

Click? Why not just change his name to Don Cricket? XD
Clown Captain Parchy? LMAO
-
And I thought Baki and Creek were bad.
-
Is Crick that much better than Click…?
ANd P is close to B...
-
If he really would have said that then it would be yet another out of context statement because a) the statement you are refering to wasn´t in this fight b) there isn´t any good of pirates and c) the words god and eight god don´t actually make a gag here. It has to be the numbers seven and eight, such as in Shichibukai (seven armed seas) and Hachibukai (eight armed seas). Without the number seven, the gag doesn´t work.
Not sure if it made it to the HK subs or not, but I do know some of the earlier manga that I've read would translate Shichibukai to "7 gods of the sea" or "7 sea gods". I forgot the name of the group that did that though.
Didn't Luffy mention Hachibukai at one point? I completely forgot where that was though.
-
I think that was in the Water Luffy episode, when Crocodile talks about the power of the Shibukai. Then Luffy retorts by saying something like "If your Shibukai, then I'm Hacibukai!"
-

Clown Captain Barchy isn't much better, either.
-
I always found Clockdair (Crocodile) quite amusing especially since when that name appeared in the same episodes as the Bananawani that have been correctly translated as crocodiles. XD
-
So, you're saying that when Luffy was teaching Chopper about the "fetish of human"…
…he was saying THAT?
-
Atlas and Hercules are the fetish of humans? Fascinating… and I thought it was all about rappers...
-
it's very amusing, the atlas and hercules thing
-
This gave me the idea of starting this thread. Post stupid quotes/screencaps of the HK subs.
EDIT- I don't own any, so it's up to you guys. XD
-
Worst? More like best.
-
/\ WTF at the rumor….
Chopper and Sanji's names really crack me up everytime I see them
-
eh? whats hk and why do they subb so badly?
-
eh? whats hk and why do they subb so badly?
HK = Hong Kong bootleg subs. Their subs are horrible because they translate from Japanese to Chinese to English, and it's probable that the people doing these translations do not speak English themselves.
-
They don't just do anime….
-
someone post the hymen one… and the "Turn the ship around like the letter U!"
and was that 'You could be my sexy" one fake?
-
My least favor one was Usopp saying "We can't push through the hymen!"
I watch these subs with my little brother so….I had him wait until the K-F subs.
-
I could have sworn we did this before.
Anyway no HK thread is complete without this: http://www.skulltula.com/junk/HK.html
And this
-
-
Sorry, I don't have the hymen one. :OOh, CosmicDebris got it.But here are my other Skypiea screenshots:
-
Haha. "I will knock you including you." Yes you!
-
-
BTW, I should like to mention, as odd as "Shit of cockchafer" sounds, it's actually completely accurate. Cockchafer is a dung beetle. And he did say "kuso". Although K-F translated it to dung, which is just as accurate, just less vulgar.
Edit: Wow, you found it. Even I couldn't find it for some reason, but I knew it was there somewhere. I'll merge it.
