It's a Databook.

We usualy only get random bits in some obscure thread lost in the darkness of the forum.

A full databook scan it's unheard of.

Yes i don't think mangastream will do any more of it they had heaps of chances during the breaks.

they seem to want people to buy stuff at mangastream so they probly wont do anymore however it's stupid because they should be using the offical name spellings from it when they do one piece translations.

maybe they lost contact with the person who sent them the scans either way i don't see anymore being done if you want more being done you will have to message the admins on mangastream.

They have been taking in new manga titles so if they wanted to they could have done it by now which makes me think they will not do it due to the fact we had long one piece breaks and they still did not do more.

Well there was an anouncement on them doing it in advance , one single part , of which they didn't even translate alot of notes and text to begin with , and then…...nothing.

I am still hoping mangastream does this however they seem to have only been putting some pitures from it at the end of the chapters they put up instead of just doing the entire book in parts like they said they would do.

Yeah i am pritty sure they are from it because they are all before the time skip and if they were from the current chapter they should have after the time skip designs.

this is from the people who do the manga at mangastream.
As for the Databook, yes we are kinda slowly working on it, actually only Kara-san is at the moment, it is an insane amount of work and I do understand why there had been no official english releases of any of the 4 databooks so far, so they not only take long to come out, they have yet to come out at all, as far as I know. If you did show me a place to get them we'd probably stop bothering with this one at all, lol. The official guys can at least sell that thing and make money, we just do it for the fandom, and are kinda losing motivation to keep working on it.

No Maam, what are you talking about? The only thing they didn't translate the first release was the back cover with the sketches. Other than that, everything was translated.

Green is getting released here in Germany in January 2012 for 12,95€.

And since we have no topic for this, as for as I know, I'll say this here: We're also getting Color Walk 2 in October 2011.

They only announced new stuff. I think next week they'll show some older stuff's new volumes, reprints etc.

But I hope so. I ordered mine off of Thalia.de last year when they had the rests being sold. I payed and everything, but I was too late, so now I'm wait for a reprint.

CW 1 OoP? I gotta say no, I ordered mine 3 Weeks ago at my local Bookstore and they got it 2 days later.

Huh? Weird, I'm pretty sure it's been out of print for years, I always checked Amazon, Thalia.de and it always said it's not available anymore.

Okay, just checked Thalia.de and the first color walk is getting a reprint. I'm finally going to get it :)

Their supplier must've had some left in storage. Carlsen said themselves it was out of print.

Because they have to wait for volume 60 to be released? And seeing as it's a January release, we'll get it at the end of December.

And are you honestly whining because of a 95 cents price raise? It's still one of the cheapest manga series in Germany.

I dont know why they now raised the price, but i dont see any better quality for the volumnes that would justify that price.
But you can sure tell me 1-2 reason why they had to raise it and maybe then i will understand and stop saying something against it.
But for now its just like with gas or cigarette prices..they go up all the time just a few cents..but there youre also telling me i still shouldnt complain because in another country they are still costlier?

I hate to continue this off topic discussion, maybe someone can put this to the German One Piece thread which exists somewhere here, but:

The translation of the volumes is WAY better now, since Antje Bockel does the translation (since volume 50). There are still some mistakes, but I hope she does the translation till the end of the manga. I think it's fantastic - I often check her translations with Stephen's script, and it actually fits. I'm willing to pay 95 cents more for a great translation.

I mean, the translation of the volumes 1-38 was done by Ayumi von Borcke, and it - to quote a certain box - FUCKIN SUCKS. And I paid 5€ per volume for that shit. 95 cent more for a pretty much perfect translation is absolutely fine.

The price was raised beause of the raise in paper prices. Carlsen said this when it happened.

But yeah, discussing the prize doesnt bring anything, because i will buy the volumnes even when theyre now 6€ non the less.
Just thought that they could have stayed with the old price or made it 5.50 and not 1\6 more of the original price without changing anything.

Well the official Answer is and was that the Paper Price got higher, the true answer is the same which also happend with the german Anime Market in late 2007, only that Mangas got affected in late 2008/ early 2009…

That was refreshing. Reading it again (the cover stories) just makes u wonder, what the hell is going on inside Oda's mind. To still be telling the stories of the likes of Jango and Fullbody??!! Well, I hope that MS is going to release the 3rd part sooner than they did with the 2nd part

In Denmark it's nearly 11€, for the same volumes, except ours are delayed much further.
ofcause the price goes up sometimes? the reason for the big jump is they don't add and extra 1 or two cents on every month, with the inflation, but goes for whole numbers.

The Jango cover story would have been a blast if it was animated. It is hilarious.

Fullbody is quite skilled to be able to take down a whole pirate crew by himself. I wonder if he is gonna be more competent in the NW. I forgot how he did not want to warm a female hostage. He certainly is better than Akainu in terms of Justice.

Yeah, I actually enjoyed the Jango coverstory on that read through. Hadn't really before. Also the first time I'm noticing we see a bit beefier Coby and Helmeppo at the end of his story.

I assume that you meant that translating the part of the DB about the cover stories is pointless, right? Because the cover stories definitely are not pointless.

Yes, yes, that's what I meant. They've already been translated, and they barely have any japanese text in them.

Short question: Were absolutely all of these coverstorys already printed in actual chapters? I don't remember for example to ever have seen the dance contest, but I might be wrong. Or do they expand on the already printed storys for the databook?

I love this attention to detail when we saw Coby and Hermeppo with Garp. When I saw the last page of the Jango coverstory I have realized something that could turn out real.
It seems likely that Garp and Sengoku will train: Coby, Hermeppo, Smoker, Tashigi, Hina, Jango, Fullbody and maybe some marines that are yet to be introduced. This new generation will form a team to stop the straw hats in the NW.

Yes all the cover stories were in the actual manga. Some were fixed for the tank releases though like when Oda forgot about Croc's hook.
