I often wonder why authors bother including romance subplots when most of the time nothing ever comes of it. I mean, it's like the guy will never get the girl, especially if said girl wants him.
More so if she's hot as hell.
And don't give us the demographic excuse guys, if fanservice can be as blatant as FT's and stil make your series earn it's salt then you have an accepting market.

Random Kon filler almost might almost get me to watch the anime again. I kind of started watching the pendulum stuff but then stopped cuz of school starting up again. I've definitely heard some weird stuff about the anime and I'm dead curious.
Turn Back the Pendulum is my favorite part of Bleach. I know it's so "OH GOD DERP AIZEN PAST MIND FUCK GET IT", but I don't care. I am a sucker for back stories.

See, there are many stories I've read in all types of media ruined by a hastily thrown in romance plot. Which is how I felt this was. And I hear time and time again that it was built, but I never felt that at all.

As RPGJay said, it was pretty decent until about halfway in, but then the story lost all focus. There was no sense of flow, no sense of what was at stake, and no sense of how the characters were progressing. It just became a series of random happenstances where characters were introduced from out of nowhere and then were usually swiftly forgotten. Not to mention the pacing went out of whack and almost nothing happened in each chapter. Come to think of it, it was pretty Bleach-ish.
I will give Takei this much credit though: he does have a pretty neat art style.

Nope, that's pretty much there in the manga too. To be fair, Takei did at least try to incoporate worldwide elements into the story (which is more than can be said for Kubo) but none of them were fully fleshed out or fully explored.

In SK it was like what, episode 7 when Hao got showed into our faces ? It makes this whole worldwide circle of shamen prety pathetic when there isn't a single one on the whole planet who can at least be considered a credible threat to his plans, while being a villain for the series as well.
I call it the Naraku syndrome. Because yes, the concept for the Inuyasha series wasn't bad per se, with demons, half demons and humans all being present as sides …..but then the one single final and only villain showed up and was behind every single movement of the plot for the next 300 chapters.

Well I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you there, Kon made me laugh a lot when he was actually around. At least we agree that Hueco Mundo is where Kubo's previously pretty damn good track record at comic relief, fell apart. The comic relief of the Fraccion was almost never funny.

Fake Karakura Town was hardly any better. And I wasn't upset, I don't even care about Bleach anyway, although I guess I should at least be defensive about the things that I actually do like since they're so few and far between. Zaraki is one of the only things in Bleach that isn't overhyped so I will defend him if nothing else.

But the humor in general during Fake Karakura was just so forced it was cringeworthy.
