Fairy Tail isn't the shittiest manga ever. It's just painfully mediocre. It does absolutely everything by the book, and its protagonist is the most annoying in recent memory. Its other characters are decent and some are even good. It does have its good moments, but mostly it's just meh.

It's better than Naruto and Felch, it also rightfully will surpass both (halfway there) in sales and ranking.
As it stands, all good manga will be plagiarism from Oda's art and characters.
-
Bleach has gotten so bad that it's quite humorous. See the felch thread. FT is kinda painfully bad but similar to Naruto and Bleach ppl keep reading.
If that manga about the stickers that give you superpowers by Kishi's twin had a thread that'd be a candidate for shittiest but it's not so FT reigns supreme.

@JERK:
hahahaha DEAD wrong my friend!
if your mom's a whore you'll ban me
-
And now Meldy completes her transition into the crazy loli lesbian stereotype.
For some reason I'm looking forward to this fight more then others. I might be setting too high a standard, but this fight may be one of the funniest fights Fairy Tail's produced since….oh wait Kain was like a chapter ago. Well, either way.
-
From the spoiler it looked like the 3rd page was the final page an if that's the case i'm guessing juvia really didn't do shit to Meldy

This post is deleted!

I'd edit my previous post cause I know damn well I did not write that name that's in there.
I just realised there's no edit button…crap.
-
Yep. The mod war is reaching its climax right about now, and its pretty damn epic. It's been an epic April Fools Day joke
-
Hm, the edit button's working just fine for me.
-
probably because you're a sub moderator on this forum
-
of COURSE it works for you
-
Yeah, I guess being a genie would do that.
But to be serious there was a brief time earlier today when it was completely gone for me as well.
-
can you grant wishes?
-
can you grant wishes?
Some of them I can. Well, no guarantee that they'll be your wishes and not mine. If you're lucky maybe they'll coincide.
-
Toupe genie toupe
-
Ah, my over-dramatic mockery is still here. I may as well screencap it incase someone changes thier mind :)
And oh, Fairy Tail. I forgot what happened. It's probably a forgettable chapter.
-
I guess they talked about the bond of fairy tail will never die or some other bullshit.
-
I feared for a while that Juvia would get possesed again.
Oh, anyone think this is gonna end with all three of them knocked down while Juvia gives a boring ass friendship speech ?
-
I don't have much to say either, partially because the chapter isn't fresh in my mind anymore and partically because it was rather ''eh''. I don't see the point in those kinds of maneuvers unless you're planning to suicide yourself.
The anime's new opening brings the following to mind:
- Edoras looks like Namek with those colors
- Gildartz is apparently ageless
- This is like the fourth or fifth time they've used that exact same ''Natsu standing before Lisanna's grave'' shot. At least draw it from a different angle!
- They animated the wanking, why would they do that?!
- Now that I think about it, why did Anima suck up the town too? Were the buildings built with magic? - The part at the end is such a bait and switch unless they put their animation budget where their mouth is.
-
Friendship? Nah. It's probably something to do with hearts, love and a whole bunch of other notes taken from Kingdom Hearts.
-
The solution is pretty easy, she'll get frozen solid by some random link magic after effect.
-
I enjoy Juvia, and I enjoy seeing her rip on other characters, and I suppose there's a precedent for her magic actually getting stronger when she gets mad, but I thought that was supposed to be the Dragonslayer's shtick? You know, the reason why Dragon Slayer magic was so effective was because Natsu's anger raised its damage, and it was a form of ancient magic and all?
Though it's nice to see Juvia return to form - she's been pretty mellow ever since joining Fairy Tail, and it's nice to see her displaying the level of competence and power she did in the Phantom Lord arc. Erza acknowledging that was a nice touch. Singlehandedly overwhelming one of the Seven Kin of Purgatory? I'd say that's worthy of S-Class. (Though naturally some of them still went down too easy).
-
Oh wow.
I come back to the forum and find Jerk Disease has been banned.Took long enough.
-
Banned? for what?

Well when she was first introduced she got stronger when facing Gray due to anger, but since then hasn't really had any main fights. Her only other fight she got possessed pretty early and didn't do much.
-
All the reactions for Zephos' banning is making me laugh honestly. I'd rather not think about at all, because who knows what can happen next? Hahahah!
-
I mean, if Jerk Disease can be banned, then what's next? I mean, we'll all be dead by noon!
-
Alright chapter, I felt Meldy's magic is kinda similar to Kain's.
Anyways, random thought, anyone else think Tartaros's guild master will be a woman?
-
Then she'd be generic as hell eye candy with crotch shots and breast grabs galore.
Hope not.
-
Meh, I'd prefer that over all the guild masters being generic bearded/mustachioed old men.
-
@No:

Would that be better or worse than if she (going along with the assumption for the sake of it) were completely unattractive, old, and genuinely horrifying to look at (and not in a good way)?
Maybe a female Makarov, only more fat, less bone? Or maybe like that one old lady in one of Happy's Little job segments? You know, the one who fed people her dirty bath water.
anyway…
I have to say I liked ep 73 much better than the constant yes spamming filler villain we've had for the past few eps.
I suppose just about every new OP/ED we get in this series will be filled with spoilers... so in 12 eps from now, what will they be showing (the OP/EDs)? More Edolas stuff or stuff from the current arc?
-
Good chapter and good episode. Me like.
-
Meh, I'd prefer that over all the guild masters being generic bearded/mustachioed old men.
Brain's design was kinda meh, but Hades actually has a pretty cool design IMO. Plus he's like 110 at minimum so it makes since for him to look like a really, really old man.
I was glad to see Juvia wasn't going to be just fodder. She has good abilities that are hard to beat, so it was a shame that they were gonna waste her like this. But I'm glad they're going to show what she's capable of when bloodlusted. Let's see how she gets out of this though. I won't be surprised if this is a plot device for having another Kin member win.
-
If Meldy wins this battle, this may make up for that pathetic Zoldeo takeover shenanigans. May…
-
Thing is, atractive females all look very similar, at least when done by Hiro.
-
Meldy pretty much set herself up for a loss by linking all 3 of them together. It was her trump card more then anything else imo
Gray is going to lose sight of Ultear and Erza ends up fighting her or Bluenote
-
Ok, I just read the chapter and I actually liked it so-and-so. Juuvia going all out rage on Meldy was fun to watch and the humor in the mix of the battle even made me laugh a bit.
Let's see how Juvia gets out of this predicament. Maybe she'll just restrain Meldy but that won't work for long. Maybe she'll beat her down until she falls unconscious leaving them all inert. But that would put Grey's life in danger just laying out there in the open without being able to defend himself. Maybe Meldy can deactivate the spell and will do so at the last second before her attack hits Juvia. Juvia figures this out and attacks in that instance and takes Meldy down when the spell is deactivated.
Neh, either way I don't see Meldy winning this.
-
OBut that would put Grey's life in danger just laying out there in the open without being able to defend himself.
That strategy worked wonders for Lucy :ninja:
-
Eh, maybe Gray will overhear Ultear saying something that'll shake Meredy up enough to drop her guard or completely lose her will. That's the only way I can picture this ending, since we know no one's really going to die.
-
Hey gang i'm late to the party, so I liked the new chapter and episode….yeah
-
I'm looking forward to the anime explaining why they never mentioned Gildarts all this time.
Other than that, I look forward to seeing how the anime handles the Edoras arc. And as for the manga, well the latest chapter was pretty good IMO.
-
Enjoyed the latest episode and chapter, though the filler episode felt like the Macao Arc at first (and I was a little disappointed they didn't have Wendy do anything, though that may be so it has more impact when she shows her powers against Faust later on), but the Rainbow Sakura special being animated was neat.
As for the situation with Meredy I think it'll be one of two scenarios:
A. Gray gets seen by Ultear and Knocked out, ending the fight (since all three would be knocked out).
B. Ultear discovers Grey and fights him. Arc of Time doesn't work on people, but it was never said it doesn't work on magical effects. So, Gray will get caught up in the Arc of Time magic, have his mark removed, and by proxy, so will Juvia and Meredy. Then Juvia defeats Meredy, and Gray is still oblivious about the whole situation.

Good to see you back, FFA!
Neither of these will happen.
A) Mashima is incapable of making a fight that does not somehow have a climactic (or comedic) ending.
B) Urtear seeing the mark on Grey will understand that Meredy is using her magic on him and someone else.
Putting aside the fact that I have no idea why you figure the Arc of Time will somehow magically age the mark on Grey until it's gone, there's no way that even if she was so blind she missed the very obvious mark on his wrist, that she'd somehow miss him doubling over inexplicably in pain here and there.
I doubt even IF her magic could do this to other Lost Magic, that she would remove the effect put on him by Meredy just because. We know that Urtear cares for her from their interaction with each other. Removing the mark could put Meredy at risk.
Urtear won't be the one to remove it.
-
Is it just me or is Grey turning into the Yamcha of Fairy Tail?
He never gets a decent fight and is usually marginalised or outright forgotten. Now he is being used as an unknowing third wheel in someone else's combat.
-
I would'nt say forgotten as he does have his obligatory fight and plays some kind of role in every arc.
Marginalised is a fair point though, he has rarely been important to proceedings in an arc. All I can say is that this arc is'nt finished yet and there might be a reason he has been left out of the serious fights so far. Maybe saving him for something.
-
He has a better track record than Yamcha. He beat Fukuro and Sugarboy, and he at least came to a draw with Lyon.
And thanks for the response, Silence. I guess you're right about A… I can't recall an ending to a fight that was either humorous or over the top dramatic... I'll have to think. As for B, my idea was that she would be so distracted with Zeref that she'd use Arc of Time to reverse time... not aging the mark, but rather reverting it to before it was placed on Grey. But even with Zeref in tow, I guess she'd have to be fairly aloof to do that, and Urtear has been one of the few characters in this series to be on top of things.
-

I realy hate that little fact because it makes one bit of Hiro's actual long time foreshadowing into another of his on the spot arsepulls :getlost:
And yes, he beat Sugarboy last arc. And right after that, well, you know.
Embarassing.
