I lol'd at Sanji serving three cups of tea at once.
Chapter 620: "The Theme Park We Dreamed Of" Discussion
-
-
The chapter went by fast. It was just so interesting. I went through a second time to look for Panda(mer)man, but I ended up reading through the story again. Any further praise would be redundant, but still richly deserved: Oda-san, you are an amazing writer to be able to pull readers in so much.
I couldn't locate the guy. Where is he?
-
Why hello. This chapter made me shed a tear… Okay it totally made me whimper.
One Piece just got up another level in mind-blowing. I guess this is the arc that will tie all the loose ends together, right? And this is just the beginning, right? (sorry for being overexcited, RIGHT?!).
This chapter is awesome! -
The fact that Macro was one of the founding members of Tiger's crew, and not some Sun-pirate wannabe that wore the tattoo, makes him the most despicable fishman ever.
In my opinion. Not only is he a traitor to his own kind, but also to his captain's ideal.
Bring him back into the story and BURN HIM AT STAKE.While I'm by no means defending his actions, I am nonetheless curious what drove Macro and his team to their current occupation, much like how Arlong's worldview is becoming increasingly understandable, the evils he caused in Nami's homeland notwithstanding.
It could be, in some twisted way, that Macro became a slaver as a means to drag himself out of the World's metaphorical (and literal) depths. By preying on his fellow Fishmen/Mermen, Macro elevates himself to being the equal (after a fashion) of those humans who do the same, applying the doctrine of Human-Fishman equality on an individual level as opposed to a broader societal level.
Of course, that may be giving him too much credit… He might just be a greedy bastard whose moral convictions couldn't hold up to the potential profit that enslaving and selling his kindred could bring him.
-
Even though it hasn't been revealed in this chapter, I'm willing to bet that Fisher Tiger is a D.
1. He climbed the red line like a badman and performed a reckless act like a D. would - charged Marejoa.
2. Hancock was reminded of Fisher Tiger when she talked to Luffy.
3. Saul was a D. even though he was a giant, so why not a fishman?
4. There's a poneglyph on Fishman Island, apparently, and that's very significant to D. (not a great point, but I'll add it in).
5. The eyes are shaded in like a D.'s would be (another weak point, but holds some significance)Not a great chance of him being a D., but a decent enough chance.
EDIT: Lol Jinbe's hair.
-
Kinda unlikely, u'd think that Oda will at least reveal it in Tiger's introduction box. Government cover-ups is understandable since we've seen it with Gold Roger, but Jimbe should know the guy pretty well and he calls him Fisher Tiger. Tho I'd admit Fisher D Tiger sounds cool, or it could be Fished Tiger :D
-
@Mr.:
He's too weak and pathetic to even matter at this point. Hopefully Hatchi sent them flying to the nearest marine stronghold.
Being too weak is not an excuse to want to see this bastard hung and stoned.
Case in point: Spandam. -
All those who said I was stupid for not thinking this whole chapter was gonna be a flashback can SUCK IT!
NAPLES
-
Now THAT'S how you build up the greatest flashback ever. Eagerly anticipating this:)
-
I'm just wondering about how Muhhi and Zeo mentioned Hodi, the first said Captain and the second said King.
Different views? Mistranslation? Not important?
Hmmm…
-

Bring him back into the story and BURN HIM AT STAKE.So true. I wonder why people don't realise this ?
But Tansui's cool. Because…..he's cool :D
-
asmo: Actual status and the one he aspires to King (of impel down).
No Maam: lol intended >:).
-
-
@No:
I sense a typo :P
That's why we have you in here lol.
-
I can't help it, it's in me blood :ninja:
-
Aww man, this is going to be the mother of all flashbacks, at least until we get to Raftel.
-
Being too weak is not an excuse to want to see this bastard hung and stoned.
Case in point: Spandam.Perhaps, but Spandam hid behind the power of CP9, eneis lobby, and the buster call and tortured Robin. His beatdown was highly anticipated. Macro and his two goons are a third rate gang desperate enough to betray their ideals and grovel to slave traders for a commision, easily taken out. Hypocrites? Yes. But seeing them strung up by their…fish parts, wouldn't be too satifying because they're not worth it.
-
Loving this chapter, this is one of the few times I'm really looking forward to a flashback!
-
Dr. Zoidberg made his highly anticipated return in this chapter!
!
-
Can't wait for this epic flashback :)
Lol at Luffy stealing Nami's Tea

I just want to see him suffer. That's all.
Perhaps when the coverstory gets to SA, we will see him getting raped by marines.Or turned into sashimi. I'll take that.
-
Awesome chapter cover, great chapter.
I wonder where the other princes are. -
@BarrelCrate: Nice Dr. Zoidberg avatar!
-
BTW what's franky holding? I assume it's a hammer or rope but my first thought was Gandalfs staff for some reason.
I'm looking at the cover page again and for the life of me I just can't seem to figure out how a woman in the same predicament found her way to Gaimons island. Did someone tell her about a lonely man on an island of animals who was stuck inside a chest, which prompted her to set sail and find her soul mate?
Whatever though, I'm just happy for the guy. The girl looks a lot younger though.
-
ワンピース第620は良かったです!!
-
I forget who said it but someone mentioned how the prince beat the NFP he punched once… He only punched him once >.> Of course someone is going to slide backwards after getting punched in the face! lol I am curious to see if they show that fight at all, it would be nice.
@Mr.:

I think it is a rope on the ship, you know the ones that are normally on the side?
-
Was a good chapter young jimbei looks cool…Im waiting for the big twist in the story to see who the main villain is in this arc I doubt its just Hodi and VDD
-
PREDICTION FOR NEXT "FROM THE DECKS OF THE WORLD" INSTALLMENT: Kaya and the Usopp pirates in Syrup Village. (2 for 2 so far)
-
How the hell did I miss the Saobody Park/Arlong Park thing?
And Arlong back in my One Piece?
Good times indeed, hopefully Oda can finally flesh him out so he doesn't seem the like the giant jackass he is known to be now, not that it justifies what he did to Nami's village, but still.
I did enjoy Sanji kind of giving Jimbei a verbal smackdown for a second there.
-
I hope at the end of this "flashback" we find out where Arlong is right now.
-
PREDICTION FOR NEXT "FROM THE DECKS OF THE WORLD" INSTALLMENT: Kaya and the Usopp pirates in Syrup Village. (2 for 2 so far)
It's not very hard to predict lol.
-
Great chapter as usual!
And man, Fisher Tiger looks pretty cool IMO! :)
As for Arlong, Boooooo! -_-
-
I know this. I just feel empowering whenever I'm right about it :O!
-
Put that way and the NFP seem considerably more insidious than any other groups of enemies yet depicted in OP. Enel had his own thought police and required devotion, but he didn't attack people's self image in as deep a way as these Arlong disciples. The various megalomaniacs, (Arlong included) simply demanded obedience. The NFP on the other hand require strict ideological devotion.
Enel was just using his power to demonstrate that he is a god.
He never was interested to rly make them "believe" that he is a real god(that he wanted to prove to himself by reaching the fairy vearth), but he sure punished them with his mantra ability whenever they didn`t excepted him as the current leader.
Their fear was enough ..he even let them have still their idol "vearth"-(but maybe because he was also believing in it).As for the NFP, i guess they aren
t satisfied with just going against the humans. They also don
t understand how some of their own race couldnt stand behind their ideology. Seeing that they picked Otohimes picture, shows that they have a deep grudge against any fishman who wanted a peacful solution to their problem.(what never rly brought any results as we can see currently) I guess in Otohime they see the symbol of those responsible which let themselve(the current NFP) suffer in their youth. When every fishman already followed Fisher Tigers believe, they may think that they hadn
t suffered as much to this date…and by that they not only hated humans, but everyone who was responsible that the revolution they are now starting, didn`t happen already fifteen years ago. -
I'm also still puzzled that Rayleigh said he cut ties with Hachi 12 years ago when he joined the Sunny Pirates, yet there he is 15 years ago. Did someone mess up with the math?
The whole Sunny Pirates =/= Fishman Pirates doesn't cut it for me, since I'm pretty sure Rayleigh specified the Sunny guys.
-
Hehe…Pandaman made his appearance once again. XD
Oh and Macro and his gang on Fisher Tiger's crew...Nice.
-
This is a very good chapter, I'm looking forward to all this a lot.
I wonder though, because it seems like there are still lots of mysteries about who is the real bad guy or what Robin is looking for (also what is Noah?).
It seems like this is an early place for a flashback. -
@Monkey:

This is just a guess, but I'd say it's Noah's Arc. (OR NOT!)
-
Maybe we see such an early flashback because we will have another, where the new crewmember in this arc shows his life which was massive swayed with the consequences this flashback right now will in the end show us.
-
I totally forgot about a new crew member joining the Straw Hat crew this arc. Whoever he/she is then they need to be (if not already) introduced soon.
-
@Don:

We will probably have a flashback of 15 years ago and another one of 10 when Otohime dies.
-
This is just a guess, but I'd say it's Noah's Arc. (OR NOT!)
It is probably like a ruin of one of those ancient weapon ships, maybe that is what Robin is going to look at.
-
This was a great chapter, with nice character interaction and a fine load of information.
To be honest, I feel like seeing a flashback of Arlong's past now, although that's most likely unlikely (ironically).
-
We will probably have a flashback of 15 years ago and another one of 10 when Otohime dies.
Actually it will probably be one flashback, especially looking back at Jinbe's last line.
-

To be honest, I feel like seeing a flashback of Arlong's past now, although that's most likely unlikely (ironically).
You'll see the most vital parts of Arlong's past in the next few chapters. And of course Hachi mentioned that he and Arlong wanted to be a part of the human world, so I wouldn't be suprised if that was elaborated.
-
@Myu:
Other than that, I want this flashback to be as good as the Norland's and Karakura's story. Although it's a dream for me… I have never felt like when i was reading those two. Whatever...
I would cut my wrist cross fingers XD if this fisher tiger's flash back could beat that grand ass story of norland and calgara.. i mean that shit in the past was just too HOLY!!
yet.. i can feel it.. an enormously good flashback is going to come. there we would see arlong 180 degree from what we all know before. next time don't forget to bring a tissue and a bucket coz it would be raining hard XD.. or maybe next or next chapter.. i want a full length flashback XD VDD DONT EVER interrupt jinbei oyabu's story!!
-
Actually it will probably be one flashback, especially looking back at Jinbe's last line.
Yeah, I guess it depends where Oda wants to go.
@$abZ:
And of course Hachi mentioned that he and Arlong wanted to be a part of the human world, so I wouldn't be suprised if that was elaborated.
I doubt Arlong would have ever admitted that. Maybe we will see how Hachi was affected by the Grand Age of Pirates before WB decided to make FI his territory.
-

Yeah, that's true. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see what happens in the following chapters then, 'ey..
-
What do you guys think was in Franky's hand on page 14? Also jinbe looked kinda like a scene kid but nevertheless pretty badass on the last page
-
Well if it isn't Chew…
!
