@GoldenOrbs:
These rankings in the Bakuman shoenen manga aren't making much sense to me lately. It seemes like Aoki, Ashirogi and Nanamine are dancing around One Piece and Crow like its nothing
Getting a high ranking the first time out, even first place, is easier when the first chapter comes out because it has extra pages, color, and its new. Its the second week that the challenge really kicks in.
And Crow has been pretty consistently third the entire series. Its fine that Ahirogi are meeting it with regularity now, thats what the entire arc where they started their current series was about… they had 25 chapters to proves they could be its equal, and now they're holding at that. Also don't forget, Aoki's previous series was cancelled, so it had fallen to the bottom of the ratings.
One Piece they never actually mention its ranking but it can be assumed that it holds the 1 or 2 spot every time, regardless of how anything else places, its probably what beat out Nanamine's first chapter since none of the other characters were mentioned specifically as beating it.
Naruto and Bleach have ended in universe... or Bleach has fallen to a consistent 7 or 8th.
Mostly, you can't factor real life series into the story too much, since they've got an imaginary extra 8 or 9 series runnings, thats half the Jump lineup.
