No news on Ras Lanuf ?
I'm worried for BK and I think that if the world will start ignoring the situation now, Gaddafi could benefit from it.

Ras Lanouf was taken back in the morning.

Nothing new on Ras Lanuf, the same has been happening the last 3 days, but news say that there is some oil shortage in Sirt and it's maybe why Gaddafi's forces have been trying to control Sidrah's oil port in Ras Lanuf.
Zawiya is still surrounded and Misurata is expecting new attacks.
Rumors on a ship coming from Syria with ammunitions and 100s of 4x4 cars heading to Tripoli.
Brega is having its share of clashes too. (an oil port is in there too)

Aljazeera cameraman Ali Hassan Al-Jaber has been killed in an ambush near Benghazi. He was hit by three shots, and was wounded through the heart. Ali then died in hospital.
I feel embarrassed how little I actually know about Gadaffi. I had a lot of respect for him making the country to what it had become over the 40+ year period, but never quite knew the full extent of measures he used to achieve his unopposed ruling of the Libyan kingdom. Which also seems to be the case with even one of our own Libyan members which further proves just how hidden Gaddafis actions have been kept.
I can't help but find some humor at the post I made a while back of Gaddafi ranting to the whole world/UN about how iraq and many other countries need to be left to find a conclusion regarding civil wars.
He'll regret those words if he loses this war or his life.
This is old news but I heard rumors that Gaddafi would step down if he was guaranteed immunity from criminal prosecution and travel for him and his family to any country he wants.
Is this true or is this just an unfounded rumor? Its been a few days since this was reported on and from the looks of things it doesn't look like Gaddafi is stepping down from anything. Either a problem with negotiations or the rumors are just what people say they are…rumors.
Here's an article on it.
http://www.examiner.com/top-news-in-san-francisco/libya-is-gaddafi-really-stepping-down
He doesn't deserve that. It shouldn't even be an option at this point.
One dead as Yemen police open fire on protesters
-Libyan state TV says that Gaddafi's forces have gained control over Brega.
-In Misurata, they were expecting an attack yesterday but according to a witness there, Gaddafi forces (Khamees brigade) had a split in their forces after some of them refused to fire at civilians, and that 32 of them, including a general, have joined the revolution.
That's good to hear…
I guess the General was just waiting for the right time to change side...
Any responses from the rebels on the claim that they lost Brega ? Gaddafi's sources aren't exactly credible.
They said they retreated just outside the city and are planning to attack again, they also said the will try to get Ras Lanuf back.
Al Aqeelah (between Ras Lanuf and Brega) is also being bombarded from the sky and sea.

Man, the spokesman of the libyan defense ministry is just as funny as Gaddafi and his son.
The violence used by police against protesters in Bahrain is getting worse. There are videos on Youtube of police forces shooting what seem to be live bullets at protesters.
EDIT: The police in Yemen seems to be shooting live bullets too. There are reports of snipers shooting protesters.
Sources say that revolutionaries have detained 10s of Gaddafi's forces in Brega after they set them up and now there are some air raids on that place.
The same source said that they killed 25 and detained 20, and the rest of the gaddafi forces are now 20km west of the city.
lol, what the heck?
@shadowtearz(seperate:
not all of the protestors have the rights to go and ruin there country like Bahrain…they dont have the right since they're president giving them all they need...
Morons on the internet have no idea what's actually going on in the world.
More at 11.
i initially chewed her out, but then i deleted my message.
it would have descended into an argument that would've gotten us both banned, sigh.
Oh I would gladly respond to her.
"Yes, he's giving all the hospitals all the live artilery they could ever need :getlost:"
That's Libya.
Bahrain's more like, "Yes the president is giving them all the live bullets they could ever want."
well, she caught my post before i deleted it and she replied. great…
my uncle lives there…and he sees eveything, i dont want to go into details but one of the denomination doing these stuff and u dont wanna know whats happening out there...
LOL, one person's uncle = 100% reliable account. :B
@Cyan:

President ?
Also, I personaly think this whole thing might originate from high up in the police hieararchy.

Her uncle must be omnipotent.
Her argument basically sums up to, "It's so bad over there you don't even want to know what's going on so I won't explain it to you because that's just how it is, understand?"
Is she saying she's Shia? I couldn't tell at all.
I just don't get it. Either she believes the well documented army assault on hospitals is a "hoax" made by the west and Al Qaeda, or she knows it and she thinks it's justified.
Scary.
Anyone heard from kuma? Now that the Gaddafi shitheads have reclaimed Ras Lanuf I'm worried as hell.
Tigerlilly: Nope absolutely no news as far as I'm aware. His posts tend to
have huge gaps between them though, God willing he is safe and will post soon :)
Edit:
Saudi Arabia sends troops to neighbouring Bahrain at the request of the small Gulf kingdom after violent anti-government protests. (bbc)
-Reports say that there was an air strikes on Ajdabiya and it hit part of a hospital and military camp. No causalities have been reported. And local residents are refusing to leave the town.
-According to Al Jazeera's sources in Libya, Khalifa Belqasim Haftar, former Libyan army commander, who was one of Gaddafi's commanders during the war against Chad, has returned to Libya to support the rebels.
-Gaddafi forces have attacked Zuara trying to take control of it. The city is close to Libya-Tunisia border.
-Aljazeera: 1 person has been killed and 7 injured in attack by Gaddafi forces on Zuara, in western Libya.
Troops from a number of Gulf states, including Saudi Arabia, have arrived in Bahrain in response to a request from the small Gulf kingdom, officials say.

I wonder what side Kuma was on? He spoke both for and against Gadaffi at times so I wonder what his current situation. Either way I hope he and his family are safe.

Jesus christ Smudge. Keep up with things.
He's fervently anti-Gaddafi and last we heard had completed rebel training and was headed to the frontlines.

I must have been away longer than I thought. Or at least not kept track of things as much as I could of. Last time I saw him talking about Gadaffi was over six months ago, and from what I recall he didn't seem anti Gadaffi. @bartholemew:
good for you, that guy is my revolutionary leader.
love geddafi, he helped us so much

I've missed a lot of the fighting/protests since Egypt kicked off. Now I'm trying to catch up to all the facts but honestly find it a little hard to believe half of what's being reported as practically none of it have either physical evidence or just reliable information from a source that I would deem credible. The current goings on in Libya for example shows just how sketchy the reports are. Hopefully we'll have some reporters make their way into some of the key areas to provide us a proper picture of events. And by events I don't just mean little skirmishes, but a proper view of the size of each faction and the apparent atrocities occurring .
here's the moment he returned:

[hide]to everyone: i owe all of you a huge apollogy for ever defending this piece of shit dictator, or saying that anything he is doing is o.k.
i had my first eye opener in my trip to tripoli but now its clear as crystalto jerk: I got shot but its not bad, it hit the side of my leg, an untargeted bullet. You can't keep a good man down. I got now a new vision over everything. I see life in a whole new light. You know when someone escapes death they say im going to live life to the fullest, for me it is i am going to accomplish all that i can and do my best to change and help the world to become better, make myslef better, study harder, and help more.
to tigerlily: i posted a few pictures for you to see, all of the supplies you see there have been given to us "the hospital jala" by anyone who owned food stores, and pharmacies. They would empty out all theyre stalk and give it all to us, in the name of helping. When the army was against us there was 1000 volunteers who circled around the hospital protecting, and they brought more beds and supplies hourly. It was an unbelievable sight, i will post the videos soon but internet is slow. I guess they opened it cause all the journalists have made it.
On a more serious note, i should be dead…. alot more should be dead. If it wasnt for the bravery of 3 pilots. The 2 planes that made it to Malta and 1 after, all 2 pilots went against gaddafis order of bombing areas in Benghazi. They are dead now, wallahi those are true Matyrs.
FUCK YOU GADDAFI, YOU DONT DESERVE TO LIVE, I HOPE YOU DONT DIE BUT GET CAPTURED AND PSYCHOLOGICALLY ANALYZED TO SEE WHAT MAKES A MAN KILL HIS OWN PEOPLE. Your goons blew up my car[/hide]
Glad to hear Kuma made it out safely. The new flag is beautiful indeed, hopefully it will strengthen the spirits of the people even more. I'm worried that news from Lybia will start to get pushed into the background now that everyone's concerncs lie with Japan.
Anyways the decision of the Arabian League gives me new hope that the people will receive help to take care of Gaddafi's airforce. Stay strong Lybia.

Actually it was quite a quick change of thought. I read here all the time and was surprised as well. That's probably because he's from Benghazi were the rebels seem to have near universal support. I imagine his former position to be very unpopular there in the weeks leading up to this revolt. That he is not just sitting aside suggests that he is not going with the flow but realized the folly in his former arguments as he discussed the matter with people around him. At least that's what I hope for him because that's when risking one's live actually makes sense.
Glad to hear Kuma made it out safely.
On the contraty! The last time we heard of him we was armed and headed for an area that is now retaken by government troups! (Ras Lanuf)

Yes that is indeed a worrisome notion. I've already noticed my friends talking about Fukushima instead of Libya. Ultimately this might be Gaddafis strategy. Nothing stays in the news for more than a month these days. The Libyan frontier is going back and forth as if it wanted to rock you into sleep.
The Arabian League dealing with this would be near ideal (after the Libyan revolution doing it which looks unlikely right now)
@bartholemew:
one flag is a fuck ugly green rug that was picked up from the street, then alot of shit was added to our countrys name. The other is the independant flag from the time of king idris.

Ya'll missed the part where he admited to having joined the rebels and to be going off to Ras Lanuf.

Hopefully Libya Will over come this mad dog very soon.
Great to hear your all right Kuma!
Did they ever get that no fly zone up? I thought I heard something about it on the news yesterday, but I didn't really hear what they said.
-Libyan State TV says pro-Gaddafi forces "in total control" of eastern town of Ajdabiya.
-Anti-government activists said that rebels commanding fighter jets have destroyed two of Gaddafi's warships off the northeast coast of Ajdabiya.
The opposition also claimed to have hit a third naval ship in the air attack.
-Reuters: The eastern Libyan oil town of Brega has been retaken by Gaddafi's forces.
good to see you are ok kuma

Nice to see you're alive.
I realy hope you guys succeed, even with these unsettling news.
Also this is sort of a weird thing to ask, but considering the amount of "accuracy" in Gaddafi's media, has there been any mention of the recent earthquake in Japan ? I know y'all have other worries at the moment, just curious if the news actualy does something.
They have their own 'news' sources in Benghazi. They don't really need to follow the Libyan media.
Keep strong Kuma, keep strong.
Good to see you're still alive Kuma!
Good to know you're doing alright, Kuma!

Can you tell us what made you change your views on Gadaffi in the past six months? Was it as simple as his crimes and past being properly revealed to you, or perhaps after you saw his brutal attacks towards his countrymen in person?
I want to know the driving inspiration behind the majority of rebels actions.
(from a rebel and not from mainstream media)
