Hey did you hear about that show young justice it's supposed to be a good show???
Young Justice RETURSN OMG
-
-
Fun fact: Weisman revealed that Superman is thirty-three, Batman thirty-two, and Barry…thirty-five.
Certainly leads more credence to the theory that Barry dying later on so Wally can take on the Flash mantel.
-
I would love to see that done in this show. Considering the large cast I can see a version of Crisis on Infinite Earths being possible down the road. If not I'd at least like to see a future version of Wally run back in time for an episode with all of his badass speed force powers.
-
The sheer insanity of attempting to do a version of Crisis in animated form boggles the mind. Even toned down with hundreds of characters and sub plots cut, it'd still have to be quiiite the lengthy multi-parter.
-
I agree with Robby - besides, one of the main point of Crisis on Infinite Earth is that it's mostly to work out the confusing timelines and continuities, and here they're already at a clean slate (earth-16, I think?) without any baggage to tidy up. Now time travel shenanigans with Barry time travelling, that I think is most likely. I hope they won't forget Booster Gold and Rip Hunter in that case though.
-
I wish kid flash wasn't so sex crazed about miss martian. relation ships in a team always cause problems
-
That's funny because conflict = story.

@RPG:

That's okay. He's going to end up with Artemis.

I wish he'd ease up a bit, since it's starting to just look like relentless sexual harassment, to me at least.

I don't think a death of Barry in the series necessarily has to be the Crisis on Infinite Earths version. With the way The Light seems to be plotting against the League it'd certainly give them a bit of weight if they actually succeeded in killing a member.

Nice drawing! :D
You know, I was in my 2d class the othe day and somebody animated Robin from this show for their walk cycle.
-
Loved the new episode: Aqualad is still perfection (<3) and Bruce is actually trying to be a parent. Reminds me of the Bruce from B:TAS, whom I loved.
-
Why was Robin mad? I miss the first 3 mins and Aqualad is pure badass. LOL at superboy watching a blankscreen and get dirty. He was like wtf. Wally stay eating. I know his stomach isn't normally, but damn.
-
What was six-six doing on young justice tonight? And did he clone himself or something?

I don't know if this is because Aqualad is my favorite character, but I think this is my favorite episode of YJ so far.
! - Atlantis is awesome! The environment is beautiful, the architecture amazing, the races diverse, there's even a separate section for both the magic and science section. Maybe not too often, but I hope they'll visit it again in the future.
! - The fight at the rooftop reminds me of waterbending fight from AtLA, Garth kinda looks like Sokka there.
! - I really hope they won't kill off Kaldur, the Atlantis/Aquafamily background alone provides a lot of storytelling potential. Although I'm afraid he'll be replaced by Garth or Tula…I hope not.
! - Okay, I know that being in their element (no pun intended) gives a huge advantage for them, but the fight is really awesome, especially Mera. Black Manta is quite threatening too, the action scenes are great.
! - Poor Kaldur and his unrequited love, don't worry, maybe you'll find your Lorena Marquez somewhere later...
! - The Starfish...it's Starro, isn't it?
! - Batman is really nice in this universe. Even if it's only towards Robin, the person he's closest to next to Alfred, playing basketball with him is very sweet and thoughtful.
! - I don't know if it's intentional or not, but I don't like how Artemis' mom (so is that her real name?) is guilt-tripping her daughter...the Mom sounds Asian, anyone knows who she might be?
! - Seeing Wally and the Flash family having dinner together celebrating Jay's birthday brings a large smile to my face.
! - I think the MM-Superboy segment is my least favorite of them all, although even with her catchphrase, I don't find her too annoying here. Why was Robin mad? I miss the first 3 mins and Aqualad is pure badass. LOL at superboy watching a blankscreen and get dirty. He was like wtf. Wally stay eating. I know his stomach isn't normally, but damn.
I'm really not sure…well, the first 3 minutes have them beaten by Clayface with only Aqualad left standing and helpless, when suddenly Batman dropped in through the skylight and beat Clayface in 10 seconds. And then...I'm not sure, the scene makes it looks that it's just a practice hologram battle, and Batman calls Aqualad that he needs to talk to Aqualad alone to lecture him for not being focused. Robin decided to stay, but Batman insists that he want to speak to Aqualad alone, which left Robin angry. I'm not certain why he's angry, maybe he's jealous of him being leader, or that he seems to be taking Batman's time as usually it's him who got Batman's lecture? I don't know. Seeing him punching and breaking a wall gives me a WTF though.
And although Aqualad's dilemma seems silly seeing how he has a teleport portal to Atlantis, I do get what Batman means that he can split his time, but not his mind. Well, he lost his main motivation for going back anyway...
! - After snooping in other forums, I see the screenshot of Artemis' name in the scholarship paper, confirming some speculation that has been running around. Her name is Artemis Crock, and this is the comics equivalent: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tigress_(DC_Comics.
! Some interesting tidbits:- Artemis Crock is the daughter of the Golden Age villains Paula Brooks and Crusher Crock (Sportsmaster). She had taken up a career in crime, modeled after that of her parents, but only after some years did she take on the mantle of Tigress.
- The Paula Brooks Tigress/Huntress is later seen out of uniform in Young Justice at an Olympic Games-type event where her daughter Artemis competes on behalf of Zandia, a country that harbors super-villains.
- Powers and abilities : Tigress has superhuman fighting skills and is highly trained. She is an expert marksman with her crossbow.
! Wow, talk about obscure. I'm sure her background in the show will be different, though.
-
Wow, that artwork of the YJ silhouettes is impressive. I'd be down for a wallpaper version as well.
I thought the ep's presentation of Atlantis was fantastic, but the basic action and conflict was a little weak. All it really did was introduce Garth, Tula, and Mera, establish Aqualad as a surface hero, and give us our first glimpse of Black Manta (who is awesome and who we'll definitely see later given his connection to Aqualad). The whole romance subplot seemed kinda weak, and the highlights of the Atlantis scenes were Mera and Black Manta.
I was actually more intrigued by the glimpses of the other league members. Megan and Superboy being awkward was eh, but Flash family was amusing and Batman "trying to be a parent" was a great moment. Another reason Batman > Superman. I'm also more curious about Artemis - why and how does she have a wheelchair-bound Asian mother who approves of her superhero status? Why was she so determined that she attend that elite school? There is definitely more there and hopefully we'll get more soon.
Saturn Beaver: Wow, that spoiler is one DC villain I have never heard of. I can totally see it being appropriated into YJ Artemis at least in part, especially if it means we get some Zatanna action. I am 100% in favor of a teenaged Zatanna.
-
I thought Artemis' mom sounded Hispanic personally
great episode
-
Great episode. Loved the whole water sorcery thing. But did anyone else think Aquamans brother was behind the whole thing at first?
-
Good episode. I liked the Aqualad development. I really hope they don't kill of Aqualad and replace him with Garth as someone said before.
What was up with the Atlantean language at the beginning? Did they use it for one scene and then just decide to stop? Because after that every one decided to speak English.
Also, I liked seeing the other members thrown into the episode in their respective scenes. Wally and his family was nice. As was Batman Basketball. I guess we could assume that Artemis' mother is her adopted mother, because she looked and sounded Asian. And apparently Artemis and Artemommy live in Gotham.
-

He might still be.
-

i dunno, rewatching it, she seemed like her real mom… an adopted mom would probably let her choose what school she wanted to go to
also Artemis previously said something like "you wouldn't last where I'm from" or whatever, and also there's the whole HUNTRESS mom thing from the comics
i just wonder how much the mom knows
mystery mom

Here you go;
!
And a small alteration (basically made it glow a little);
!
@Badass:

They did it for that one scene to acknowledge that Alanteans have their own language. They choose to let us hear it translated so kids wouldn't get put off with having to read for the rest of the episode. Granted the language barrier didn't come up this episode, it might later on.
-
Was reading around today and I found out that black manta is aqualad father and artemis is half Vietnamese. It may not be vietnamese but she is half asian.

Where exactly did you get this info from? (Well, the half asian thing may have been implied in the recent episode)
-
I've been watching it on Youtube since I don't have cable…I'm on Denial right now, and I do like the show...I just think that the "He's not my son" thing is kinda funny. Even Superman faces illegitimate children...

I think it's hilarious. And it's even freakier because it's not like you're just being confronted with an illegitimate child (which is kind of world-jarring on its own) but with your own clone. And then being told to be his father.
Honestly I think he's handling it alright so far. :D
-
Oh man, that part on ''Downtime" when Red Tornado walked in, saw M'gann cutting food and Superboy covered in food, watching a static-y screen, and then left was just soooo funny…

He reminds me of Batman when he tells Bruce that Superboy's not his son and then he leaves…Like hes's just trying to keep to himself and not let others help.
EDIT: Jay Garrick!! JAY GARRIIIICK!!!!
EDIT2: So...do all the villains serve "The Light"? -
@Badass:

! SPOILER ALERT! In a twist, the creators have decided to name Black Manta as Aqualad's father!
I cant remember where i got the artemis one.
-
That spoiler wasn't much of a twist. It was canon in the Brightest Day comics in which Blaqualad was introduced.
And Artemis half-Vietnamese? Hm, OK I guess. Still secretly hoping that one of her parents in Sportsmaster (making her an adaption of the Tigress character someone brought up) or Lady Shiva (because Shiva is top tier).
-
I just found out that Bane was played by Danny "Machete" Trejo. Awesome!
-

Holy hell that makes it even better. Gotta re-watch that episode.
-
Good episode today, Superboy was on some serious Roid Rage before gaining back the memories
-
When did M'Gann appear to Superboy as a caucasian girl?
That may be the girl on TV where our M'Gann stole the "Hello Megan" line from (she mentions learning about earth thru tv in this ep, last week in Artemis' place the TV is clicked off just as they announce the name of a Tv show called "Hello Me*") Also: GOD how many times this ep alone!?
This ep is for all the Kidflash/Artemis shippers out there. And I guess M'Gann Superboy shippers too.
What was the rolly thing?
-
-
That was a really great episode. I loved how they showed superboy's more instinctual side again in the fact that once he realises he likes megan there's no bullshit he just goes in for the kiss. Also megan being useful is always nice. All around 10/10 ep
-
That was…an okay episode. The reason I'm probably not so hot about it is because it's quite centered on M'gann and Superboy, my least favorite members of the team. It's not like I don't want to get together (though I couldn't care less either way), but for some reason I enjoy the KF-Artemis banter better. Also, with this episode, the chances of her father being Sportmaster is even higher, with her stating that her father is a criminal.
I guess the thing that annoys me most about M'gann this ep is how she left the dying, dehydrated Aqualad to save Superboy. I mean yes, he's captured and got zapped by electricity, but he got Kryptonian DNA and it seems Aqualad is in more danger there. What if she saved Superboy and returned to see Aqualad dead? With KF out of juice she's their only hope of finding the ship anyway, and saving him together will be more helpful than rushing in alone...I guess I got why she does that, she's sweet on Superboy after all, but I expect Batman to chew her out on priorities.
So, is that a Mother Box? It's certainly sentient enough, and the method of transporting the object seems like Boom Tube. Does this mean the Light is working with Darkseid?

This. That shit's not ok m'egan.

It's not like she left him alone, she left him with Robin, who's probably the most capable member of the team
Loved the WallyxArtemis scenes. MeganxSupes is really growing on me too. Also: Damn! The writers are wasting no time in the romance department.
-
This episode was really good. Probably one of the best so far.
Does anyone know when the next episode is gonna air? This episode seemed like one of those "Season-Ender-let's go out with a bang-really great" episodes, and I can't find anything on the next episode yet.
-
Probably next friday? A 'full' season for cartoons is around 11-13 episodes. I know they have 24-6 or whatever the number was, but there's a good chance that if there is going to be a summer break, it'll happen around episode 13. I think the whole robot sphere thing is going to be important by then
-

Next week (March 18) is a replay of Independence Day with the second part following the following week. The season finale of Clone Wars airs April 1st so my guess is that they'll probably start back with new episodes of Young Justice then.
On the bright side, Batman:BATB has a new episode listed for the 25th.
-
Good episode, it was fun as far as shipping goin. Loved the color schemes in psychic mode. Man, I sooo wish I was coloring the comic of this.
Also, I like the voice they have for Batman. Its very Kevin Conroy… but not actually Kevin Conroy. So it sounds and feels right, though obviously they aren't going to use Kevin because that would instantly ground them into the Dini/Timm/Burnett verse. And, Kevin's bene doing it for 20 years now. But he'll always be Batman to me.
Can't wait till this show gets to some of the bigger batman villains like Joker or Ras Al'Ghul. (And I know Bane and Clayface hav eboth shown up. But still.) They're doing just fine with lesser know character from throughout the DCU, but one or two of the bigge rmore iconics would be fun. (And I know Ras at least is officially coming.)
-
When I first saw Clayface, I thought they were fighting Plasmus, haha.
-

Fair enough she left him with someone capable, but not someobe capable of helping him not die. The fact of the matter is aqualad needed help more.
From their experiences they had to know superboy's pretty damn resistant. On the other hand they have no idea how aqualad's body works, for all they know he could have been at death's door. It seems like taking care of the unknown would be more tactical than rescuing a hostage who has a high percentage of survival.

Emotions aren't logical.

Any Joker they come up with will probably fall short to the Mark Hamill version.
