for those in the UK. Apparently GAME's in store price will be £239.99 and £40 for games.
Got my £10 deposit back from them this morn. Bloke even said they were overcharging on them because 'GAME can'

How much is that in $? Because I heard the European price point is about $336 which is really horrible.
$380. Price should be around $300 dollars here with vat and all, but as usual we get gouged.

This actually made me lol, its true though. GAME can charge whatever the hell they want… pretty much because their competition is only CEX and HMV. The latter of which is going out of business and the former of which is only in business through extremely shady methods.
Oh and region protection confirmed too?
Eh, it'll get hacked sooner or later.
Are there already information if Nintendo will offer free software updates like on Wii or PS3?
Cause if they did I'd be much less concerned about buying the 3DS at launch and seeing a 3DS Lite getting announced one year later…
So it's like all 3 current gen systems where you have a miniature dashboard-guide without quitting the game or the actual system menu?
The 3DS can multitask, so you can leave a game without quiting and use the notes function/internet browser.

Hmm, I hope it's a bit cheaper at Grainger Games. I heard a rumor that a Nintendo rep said the RRP is actually £229 at the event.

Yes, the firmware is updatable if that's what you mean.
I asked at Grainger today and the people there had no clue about the price. They said probably about the same as Game/Gamestation/HMV but couldn't confirm.
It looks like Samus might be in DOA 3DS:

Ah yeah. I forgot to mention that. There is a Metroid: Other M themed level. So it's possible that Samus is in. Not to mention that which was said by Jonathon Ross about something Metroid.

Great, so whenever there'll be something like a 3DS Lite, it'll probably have stuff bigger screen, more cameras which I don't really care about.
Getting the 3DS Day 1 then
Hey does anyone know the release titles? I'm a little curious.
Somebody'll probably find some way to break the region encoding eventually, like with the Wii 's Homebrew Channel, you can break it using Gecko OS and probably some other tools.
I can't wait for this, though. I'm sure one or two launch titles will be worth getting even if the stuff I'm really looking forward to isn't coming out until later this year.
Went ahead and reserved my 3DS (Aqua Blue) and Dead Or Alive: Dimensions.
well i pre-ordered mine a couple days ago.
find it funny that there are people waiting for a 3DSi, or 3DSlite to come out
Seriously? I mean this is the smallest of the DS's in size, there isn't going to be no LITE. It already has 3 cameras, so no i. It has motion so not like they going to make a 3DSmove or something
ONLY thing that might happen, actually i expect it at some point would be a 3DS XL. since hey you can always make thigns BIGGER.
So have fun waiting to those that are for a potential NOTHING or years for somethign to come out. I'll be playing my agua blue 3ds from day 1. or whenever i get it from amazon i guess
have fun playing nintendogs for two months
have fun playing nintendogs for two months
Nintendogs+cats! Cause cats obey what you say and do tricks.
Yeah….Dissidia Duodecim is coming out like, five days beforehand. I've decided I'm gonna wait a while on this one.
have fun playing nintendogs for two months
I'm playing Resi, Street Fighter and Samurai Warriors :P
And the 3DSlite is gonna incorporate a printer into it. I betcha
Iwata has just said there are absolutely no plans for a 3ds lite or anything of the sort. So if you're waiting for one to come out before you buy it, you may want to rethink it

And I'm sure if someone had asked if there would be a smaller, slimmer DS before the original phat came out, he would have said the same thing. It would be very poor marketing to give anyone an incentive to not buy something as major as the 3DS.
And it's not like they're even being that sneaky. No "plans" doesn't mean there won't be one.

That looks like a hot game.
Pokemon Typing coming to the 3DS:
http://www.serebii.net/index2.shtml
Also apparently there's a Kirby coming to 3DS and Wii.
No, Pokemon typing is still for DS. It just says some pokemon game is coming to 3ds

Every Nintendo handheld generation had revisions of the original model, so you can expect a new 3DS in the future too.
The more successful it is, the more revisions it will have. I'd be shocked if the 3DS doesn't have at least 2 revisions.
The rate in which technology moves means they're going to have the ability to miniaturise components year on year, even if it's only a cpu/gpu die shrink(which'd make the battery life better).

Hoping it's either a RubySapphire remake or a new Pokemon Stadium game.
I'd like a new Pokemon TCG game (Haha how redundant). Though, it'll never happen. Snap 2 would also be awesome. Though, that will never happen either -_-
I would assume it's pokemon grey. You know they're gonna do a third game to finish the 5th gen trio, and it sure as hell can't be on the regular ds. So it's gonna be a much better version on the 3ds.
but yeah, a new Snap or Stadium would be awesome.

As long as the Third game of the 5th gen was compatible with Black and White I may not mind, though, I kind of doubt they would put the third game on the new system.

Gold and Silver were GB games. Crystal was a GBC game. Just a reminder.

Gold and Silver were GBC, though they had dual-mode capabilities allowing them to be played on earlier Gameboys… Crystal did not on the other hand and could be only played on GBC.

Every GB game could be played on GBC. Yes Gold and Silver had Color if you used the GBC but that doesn't change the simple fact that it's just backwards compatibility. The point is that Black and White will be playable on both a DS and a 3DS. Grey (the most likely name) will be a 3DS game if Nintendo has any sort of sense. It's a marketing strategy. Try and sell your new system by putting a premier series on the system as quickly as possible. Pokemon Crystal without a doubt helped GBC sales. The third Generation 5 installment will do the same for the 3DS most likely.

The Gameboy Color was the last of the original Gameboys, it is the equivalent of DS to DSi.
The Gameboy Color was released in 1998 in Japan and America and Gold and Silver were released in 1999 in Japan and 2000 in America marketed for the Gameboy Color. Despite this, they were able to be played on the original Gameboy. Crystal, though, released in 2000 in Japan and 2001 in America was not backwards compatible at all and could be only played on a Gameboy Color.
Also, even if Crystal was a marketing stratedgy, it fail. Saling only 3.75 million copies in Japan and the US compared to Gold and Silver's 14.51 million in Japan and the US, Silver saling 3.75 million in the US alone.
There is a possibility of the third game being released for the 3DS, yet its unknown at this point.

Low sales of about 3 to 4 million million doesn't equate to a failure even if it's predecessors sold a lot.
Point made. Remember though that EVERY third game in a generation failed in comparison to the initial release, with the exception of MAYBE Yellow.

Well Yellow had the advantage of pulling in elements from the anime which may have helped it's popularity.

Yellow is the exception to the rule.
Also, does anyone know if it was confirmed the 3DS will have a virtual console of Gameboy games? Cause I'm hoping for Pokemon Yellow to be released if so.
I'm pretty sure it will have GB games.
GB and GBC games were stated to be available in the virtual store. It was also said that some of these older games would be enhanced with 3D.
That's cool I guess. There were some great GB/GBC games but I don't think I'll be getting too many of them, especially not pokemon. I don't want to waste my time raising pokemon that I can't transfer into the most recent game.
It would be awesome if we could get some Game Cube games on the system also. Since it has been said the 3DS will have quality that will surpass the Game Cube quality.
Skies of Arcadia please…it's a bitch to find, and I want to play it XD
I was thinking of getting one of these on release date but changed my mind considering the low battery life and the fact that nintendo will probably release a better version of it within a year or so.
I really want to try the Mario Kart game on here though.
Super Mario Bros 3DS confirmed
consider me shocked. SHOCKED!
^ Exactly my reaction… SHOCKED
I wasn't gonna shill out $250 for a handheld console, but after hearing about a possible Luigi's Mansion sequel for it, I'm not so sure.
Appearently many of the 1st party titles not in the launch were ready before nintendogs and cats, but Nintendo is waiting to put them out to have more even releases and so 3rd party developers aren't scared away
