I can under stand why everyone is thinking that Akainu is the new fleet admiral, but i don't see why everyone is disregarding Aokiji. After all his motto is lazy justice. One of the best ways to continue being lazy is to put up a strong front. Just like when he went to find out where Robin was, i took it as a way so he could take care of the problem with little effort. If he is the new Fleet admiral then he is just following in his own shoes, by making the new Marine HQ in the New World he is effectivly making an offensive move on the Yonko without actually making a move, which is just like him.

I don't really have a problem with the designs but It would be cool if Luffy looked a tad bit different. He looks basically the same not counting the scar. Need to see full body Franky to really have an opinion on him. Chopper looks the same also, but maybe he will look different in his other points.

Oh well, not a big deal. Looking forward to next chapter.

My overall thoughts on the chapter were positive. I thought the flow was nice and I loved the fake Strawhat crew. Watching them threaten their real deal counterparts was hilarious. Fake Robin getting kidnapped, and Usopp and Chopper's reaction to the fake crew were great as well. But by far my favorite line this chapter was Usopp's comment when Nami hugged him. lol

My money's on Aokiji as fleet admiral since I think Sengoku trusted him the most, Buggy is definitely a Shichibukai and Smoker is probably an admiral if he wants to be.

As for everyone's appearances, I'm fine with everyone for the most part. My biggest thought whether was were they're disguised to fool the Marines or if the new design is permanent. I only have 2 concerns. I'm hoping Zoro's right eye is ok, the scar is awesome, but it would suck if his eye is missing. The other and bigger concern is Franky, I miss his gloriously super hair!:sad: Things I liked were Luffy's epic scar. I'm also very glad to see Sanji's left eye is just another eye like i thought. It's exactly Oda's style, he let fans speculate that the eye was special and in the end he reveals "yeah, it's just another eye… but with a twist! The eyebrow still swirls to the right!" Oda, my hat is off to you sir. You never cease to amaze and blow my mind. That's why I love One Piece.

Do you see that, Kishimoto? That is how you write a proper time skip.

Oda obviously got the idea for a scar on the chest from Kishimoto. The concept of a scar on someone's chest was completely alien to him before he saw it in Naruto, since there are no other instances of such scars in other works of fiction or in the real world.

There is big difference between "teaching all he knows" and "teaching everything he could teach".

In fact, Cnet's translation implies that Rayleigh only taught Luffy the basics during those 1 year and a half:
"Luffy: I picked up all the basics in just a year and a half, after all… // Well, I guess this is goodbye to you guys and this place..."

As well as Aohige's translation:
"Luffy: Yeah, I finished all the basics in one year... (at the animals) Looks like I'll be parting both you guys and this island now..."

So all Luffy knows is the basics and something else he developed during those 6 months by himself. So I would say that he probably still has a long way to go till he can fully master haki (as Rayleigh already did).

Just like I said, it was just a thought. I didn't waste a lot of my time thinking about it and I don't want to make a debate about it. I only want to know your opinion and ideas about Brook's weapon. Oda has a lot of crazy ideas and I'm not ashamed to show one too (retarded? Of course. But who cares?). And yes, I think he will retain his "Soul King" persona. For me it would be a waste to throw away the new design and its possibilities. I will redirect the question: why do you assume he will not retain his "Soul King" persona?

You definitely disregarded the design proposed by him which is fine since that is your opinion. But not only do you do that, you afterwards ask him why he even thinks that brook will retain his"soul king" personality. That def. sounded to me like you didn't think that brook will even retain the "Soul King" persona and so it doesn't surprise me that even he thought so and therefore throwing the question back at you. :getlost:

True, I did worded it badly I guess. My point was more about Luffy being able to wrap up the training before Rayleigh thought he would.

But since you brought the point out, we can advance the theory a bit.
He thought him the mechanics of 3 Colours of Haki
Rayleigh also mentioned that 2 of them can be trained and strengthened however one can only be controlled and will grow naturally as he will as a person, through experience.

Meaning in half a year Luffy was there he was left to train the remaining two colours and to strenghten them.
I will also say this: I like how in OP there are no Young boys wooping old guys asses right and left, and instead everybody needs time to grow.
Hance we have yet to see Haki being used by young people (I would figure all of Haki users have been over 30, perhaps Enel excluded.

And one more thing. If we look back at the fights Luffy had, Luffy didnt really lack in speed, strength and so on, he lacked in experience and ability to use Haki.
Magelan fight he was basically faster than the poison man however was not able to touch him properly.

Similarity can be found between DB and OP. One had the radar for strength other has Haki. Rayleigh was able to count the animals on the island stronger than Luffy, so is Luffy now able to tell when an opponent is stronger and back away?
I think so, but we ll see.

Yeah and everybody will say that Luffy spent 3 chapters fighting someone he could have finished earlier by using Gear 2 and 3 from the start. Same for Zorro and Sanji, now every time they fight we're expecting them to use their EL moves to end their battles.

For me the Gears and the other moves were a great idea at the moment but not in a long-term, That is why I hope that Oda will come up with something new.

I think something similar will happen, but I don't see how that changes anything. Fisher Tiger freeing all the slaves didn't do much to help the problem in the long run. Great for those who were released, though.

The ruling society seems to have no interest in ending slavery, or it would have happened with Fisher Tiger. And they shouldn't, for the sake of the story, considering how beneficial it is to them. Repeating history wouldn't do anything more than repeat history. Totally destroying the WG and Mariejoa could work, I suppose, but seems a bit extreme for this point in the story.

So how would they go about getting the nobles to stop slavery? Force won't do the trick as long as the WG is supposed to hold power. The only answer I can come to, then, is that of public opinion. There will certainly still be grand battles and the like, but when it's all said and done, I think they may need a star like Brook to push society in the right direction after they leave.

If pirate captains were not strong enough, they would suffer mutiny, such as Coby though he was not stronger than Alvida at the time.

Zoro and Mihawk. In observing human behaviour, a pattern that emerges is people always help those that don't need them. Which is precisely why charity is called charity, its a special occurence, rather than the norm.

The conversation went mainly something like this:

I think we definitly will see whats happened with either Zoro on the ship the next chapter
Would love to see a small Zoro vs luffy as a tester to the both of them to see how the other has progressed over the last 2 years
Both were trained by bosses both finished their training early (i know this because Zoro was the first to arrive but without a given date plus how much time it would have taken for ZOro to travel back at least a week or 2 by ship)

I doubt Zorow ill fight Luffy cuz he will as always sense it maybe.

If he fights him than probably to test if his captain is able to lead them further and if Luffy won't be in his way for his goal.

But I see a stormy Sanji/Zoro meeting or both will ignore each other like in movie 10 xD

Had an idea for Chopper's level up:
Since there was a big library I think there is a strong possibility that he not just developed new medicine and sharpened his medical skills but he also found literature about life feedback. I have the impression that the people on this island have a very good understanding of nature and such things, maybe they know about that?
If that is the case and Chopper could learn life feedback there I think he will be able to control Monster Point and maybe even can change forms without Rumble Ball (though I guess that would be new forms).

So according to One Piece Wikia, Luffy got that X scar on his chest from when Akainu punched thorugh Jimbei and hit Luffy with his lava fist. Only another reason for Akainu to be the new Fleet Admiral so he and Luffy can have one of the most EPIC fights in the series.

Best new character design award goes to Ussop. When I first saw him I hated his character and his design. Water 7 and Enies Lobbies his character really came out. Now he has a much better looking body even though he's still a scardy cat. He could maybe even intimidate some fodder people who don't know he's a Strawhat. Nami I didn't think she looked that good but now she's gorgeous. Robin I liked her old hair style more but she's still gorgeous. I feel like Brook is turning into a Bob Marley/Prince character which I think is awesome. I finally get to see Sanji's other eye, and that goatee make him look older and more mature. Zoro look's like Rayleigh during Edd War which is great since he was the first mate to the late Pirate King, just like Zoro will be to Luffy. LOL Franky looks like a bald cyber Hulk. Choppper I'm actually disappointed he didn't change much at all, maybe he'll get a form other than Monster Point that makes him intimidating.

Pray that Franky upgraded Sunny these past seven days with a bunch iof Vegapunk weapons, armor, and doodads for a new EPIC Sunny.

For all we know, Chopper may have learned a way to control and stabilize (not being damaging to himself) his Monster Point.

IMO, Franky upgraded the cannon, Chicken Voyage, Docking System and Coup-de-Burst only. The only other thing i could see him update as well is … the doors ... so he can fit better within the ship ...

As for Luffy dodging Nami or other Strawhats, never: that's comic relief and, IMHO, a very important part of OP. OP just wouldn't be the same without that.
