Ok, I've held my 3 cents for a while and now I think its time I spoke. Though this is more a chapter 597 related post, when you find you are interested, read on.
Zoro and Mihawk. In observing human behaviour, a pattern that emerges is people always help those that don't need them. Which is precisely why charity is called charity, its a special occurence, rather than the norm.
The conversation went mainly something like this:
Mihawk: What, now you need help? I thought you could do it on your own. I misjudged you Roronoa. You are not who I thought you were.
Zoro: …
Mihawk: This is embarassing, did I misjudge you this much? Its just a little bunch of baboons, you can't tell me they defeated the will I saw back in EB. Is this all you have?
Zoro: Actually, I have more than you think. They are finished. What I want is you, but I know I cannot defeat you now, not yet, not as I am anyway. [in EB, Mihawk remarked to Zoro's invitation to battle - what a weakling, you cannot even tell the difference in power between us, you are like a weak little animal running to its death : translation - GROWTH].
Mihawk: So if you have the potential I admired back in East Blue, and I was not mistaken, what is it you are asking? [has your goal changed, what is your new goal?]
Zoro: To overcome/surpass you! Mihawk: {hmm.. what an awkward man. you intrigue me, it seems you have grown more than I thought, putting your pride aside, for someone else. good. You will reach your goal regardless, I will teach you.} Ghost girl. Patch him up.
