so far, you can tell Inoue knows stuff about a good manga and Oda could have made a seinen One Piece (not really~)

Sounds interesting, thanks. I know i'll be following it.
Two cool bros, chilling together.
Manga bros.
That looks fantastic.
Nice interview! What are the odds that 2 high selling high quality mangaka come from the same village?
I am waiting for the rest.
A cool interview. Can't wait for the other parts.
very interesting! Oda seems so humble ^_^
Ahh! Two of my favourite mangaka!
Ah, was waiting for a translation to appear.
Cant wait for part 2, Takehiko is a genius.
This made my day. The rest will make my year. Thanks a lot.
What in the world would One Piece have been if Oda had been accepted as Inoue's assistant?
I hope Greg can translate this.
I've been dying to read this for months. I've not been able to track down any record of it. I completely ignored the book when it came out and missed out. I searched online for summaries or even transcripts but found nothing. Will be looking forward to reading. Not sure why the fellow is dividing it up but them's the breaks.

A suggestion, how about asking him to share the Japanese script with you?
it`s rly hard to wait for the rest…
god dammit another thing i have to wait for:happy:

Probably wouldn't go over too well. He seems to be attempting to make it something to keep people coming to his place so I don't think the share approach will work quite well.

part 2. Oda is too humble.
These are two of my favorite mangaka, thanks a lot.
Oda really likes to praise those who he feels is superior to him. I like that. No matter the success One Piece has acquired over these 12+ years, Oda hasn't gotten arrogant in thinking he's the best.
Thanks for showing the interview. Looking forward to the other 4 parts.
Oda's finest moment is still saying to Kishi the character he'd use from Naruto is the ramen cart.
Oda is a class act from start to finish.
@JERK:

Is that so? That's funny.
Fantastic, both are my favorite mangaka EVER!
can't wait for translation…
I'd pay good money to watch those two talk. That's an amazing article. I can't wait for the rest of it, Oda is so humble, you can tell he is talking to a real idol of his.
hahahaha this is so awesome! i love how oda just kinda takes over and leaves him speechless with his ridiculous compliments. i can just imagine their facial expressions…. X) cant wait for the rest
rly a good interview..
we should move it elsewhere, because here in this "general"-section it gets lost to quick.^^
(even when i wasn`t searching that long now for it^^)
Oh in that case. SUPER BUMP!
Super Bump , the second
Both of them are way to modest, even if some of Inoues work has some off proportions at time, they're way too good to be that modest.
those are my two heroes, since i was a kiddo i read slam dunk and one piece dragged me into anime collection and all xD
those two guys are my heroes !
thanks for liking!
That was just amazing. Oda was just adorable.
I forget characters I did a while very quickly. If I want to bring them back, I have to dig up my old work and look at it again.
Now the mysteries of Blackbeard's teeth, Ace's freckles and Akainu's blood finally made sense to me.
@JERK:

Do you have a link to this?
Wow. Thanks. Great read. I appreciate the work that you are putting into this.
That's not my work.
That's not my work.
oops. sorry, I recall reading that when I first read the thread, but forgot. Anyway, thanks for posting.

Part 3 is up.
http://www.gottsu-iiyan.ca/gib/index.php/2010/08/13/takehiko-inoue-aamp-eiichiro-oda-part-3-of-6
I was just wondering if this had been updated. Thanks for posting about it!
This third part of the interview is my favourite so far. Even Inoue complimented Oda's ability to draw as much things as possible on every panel, and Oda admits that he wants to keep the pace as fast as he can within his 19 weekly pages, and that's why he is using smaller panels filled to the top with information.
I hope that after one piece is over and Oda has rested for a while, he could give a shot at making a seinen. Inoue was a Shonen mangaka before (an excellent one at it), and now he's proven that he is a master Seinen autor too. Maybe Oda could pull it off too. . .
This is amazing. Oda is so humble too! I can't wait to read the rest of it.
Seinen?
New world?
One can hope.
I find this in the OP 2ch Thread, it´s from Inoue Takehiko PIA book, may be is the same conversation.
!
Yesssss!
Thanks a lot, Khamolen!!
And massive thanks to the guy that is translating this awesome interview.
I really have to reprise Vagabond, it was really good. And I must start Real.
Awesome, thanks again. Cannot wait for the next section.
Things like how muscular the body should be to go with a certain facial structure is something that, in the end, I pay no attention to, though (laughs). The times where I have created a certain character silhouette that no one’s ever seen before – those moments make me the happiest. And, once I’ve created it, I want to use it as quickly as possible. I create episodes for just that reason… I do that over and over, so the story gets longer and longer.
all those who criticise Oda's artwork should read that and go sulk in a corner.
Ahhh good to see a new part within the long break..made me smile
Oh jeez. Oda as Inoue-sensei's assistant. Oh boy. I can't even begin to imagine what that would have ended up as. It would probably be epic, but on the other hand I love One Piece the way it is.
I can definitely see what they mean by the "feel" of the manga. Vagabond has gorgeous art and character development, but it's got a much more somber and serious feel, while OP seems to be brimming with action and excitement.
Uuuuhhh this is great. Appreciated.
A Slam Dunk 2 running with One Piece would be pretty awesome. I heard Vagabond is meant to end soon.

If this means that he will finish REAL, I will be a happy happy fan
I'm posting in this topic again, and you know what that means.
