http://www.cracked.com/blog/108-answers-to-losts-supposedly-unanswered-questions/ Legendary Bump, I haven't finished reading the article, but 1 and 2 ringed too true to not share.
I love Cody's serious stuff like this. I know a lot of cracked readers aren't too fond of him, but between this and his piece on Batman, he has an absolute gift for reading into things and making convincing arguments and analysis.
Lost is one of my all time favorite shows. Period. There were definitely highs and lows, but while the lows were pretty bad, the highs were some of the highest highs ever on television.
I still think the first season of Lost is one of the best seasons of anything.
And the season 3 finale was absolutely mind blowing. Watching something for the first time is something a lot of people take for granted. If I could I would erase my memories of certain things just so I could experience them again. Things like Inception, Lord of the Rings, and yes, the season 3 finale of Lost. But since I can't erase my mind, I just have to vicariously watch them again for the first time through friends who haven't seen them yet.
I still rank it as the best cliffhanger of all time, for television.
As for the article itself, I never realized how many of the "questions" I had were just really dumb things that didn't need explaining. "What's the deal with airline food?" really nails it.
And I got that the island wasn't purgatory, but I've never been able to explain this to my friends in a successful way. Well, now I won't have to. I've booked marked this link and whenever this discussion comes up again I'll just send them this way.
@Kaiolino:
Season 2 sucks because Jeph Loeb is involved. Season 3 after the initial six episodes is one of the best seasons of tv ever.
Yup. In my opinion season 2 is the absolute worst of the bunch, for a lot of reasons. Though I don't seem to dislike it as much as others do. And, in the gran scheme of things, I can understand it's importance.
Lost really is a show that gets better when watched in quick succession. Watching it on a week to week basis was hell. And it made it really hard to remember everything.
I feel like a series rewatch is in order. Especially now that I can keep all of this in mind. Anyone else on board?
