Why don't y'all register/log back on and cry, whine, say "farewell" and all that good shit over there?
Where they can actually see the shit?
Oh, and stay there while you're at it.
isn`t the first site who has to shut down..
a bit sad, but there are other ways to get your manga-dosis
siiiiiiiiiigh Oh well, we're going back to the good old days of downloading each chapter separately. I remember those days.
I may end up becoming a better customer of Sasuga books, at this rate.
Isn't their a branch site from onemanga called 1000manga.com?
yea but its comin down with OneManga being it just hosted the more mature manga
Hopefully mangareader.net will still be up.
Also now I'll need to find sites that scan Area no Kishi, Ares, Yureka, Gamaran, Witch Hunter, H.O.T.D., Ao No Exorcist, Tough, and Shamo
yea but its comin down with OneManga being it just hosted the more mature manga
Like Dragon Ball
There's lots of alternatives, people. One Manga just gathers everything into one place… meaning there has to be a source somewhere!
No but I was worried about it all the time… that maybe some day most of the sited will close down^^
As much as I hated that OneManga translations it is one of the very rare sites where you have all chapters from the very beginning... And if I looked for an old chapter than alwaays there.
I hope someone will right click and save all the chapters and zip them in a one big ass data and than publish it for download... in that way the files won't be lost forever.
Maybe we should make an alliance for that... My idea for everyone who would help out...
Let us say we have 20 people who would help and we are currently near 600 chapters... That would be 30 chapters for each one... Including the color spreads...
We should make a list which chapters everyone will save and than at the end put all together^^
e g.
Me: Chapter 1 - 30
X: 31 - 60
Y: 61 - 90and so on^^
The whole damn fan coloring at OneManga shouldn't be included. Only the relevant chapter pages^^
Maybe someone would like to share my thoughts
COUNT ME IN
Quick someone save dachshund binami and the other golden stuff out there.
So that's the reason of this, then? http://www.1000manga.com/
If they get rid of scansites, then we'll just be doing what we did a few years back - downloading the scanslations from the group's website directly. It's not that big a deal.
What a drag. I've been going to onemanga for years.
Google's gonna get busy in the coming days.
And Mangahelpers needs to hurry up with that Open Manga thing they were talking about.
1000 manga was where they could put their more "mature" mangas.
Who knows, but now they have the perfect excuse to put everything in that page.
Looks like I'll have to rely on Mangafox and animea for some of the titles I follow now.
A shame, but One Manga was a huge, visible, easy target for this sort of thing.
To be accurate One Manga isn't completely going away they just won't be putting mangas up anymore the forum is still going to be there.

And what a fine forum that is. :getlost:
Pirate bay closed down, now our manga world is getting affected too.
The Pirate Bay is still around… http://thepiratebay.org/
I've got to change the links to head towards a different site now. Oh, the JOY!!
The only bad thing is all those obscure series that I read that only get updated every once in a while, I'll never remember their names. I guess I have to go browse through the winny club more often then. =(
I made that club, last time I checked…
@Niizuma:
forgive me if you think i'm an idiot, but i really loved their "suprise me" random manga button. often times i was honestly surprised. i found some life long favorites that way.
LMAO…. I like this!
To be accurate One Manga isn't completely going away they just won't be putting mangas up anymore the forum is still going to be there.
The forum has broken links on practically every post… It'll be chaos, and therefore, a real waste. In addition, the One Piece Forum Section is crowded with Hancock fanatics, nothing will change...
Ooh, we're playing this game? K, let's see Kenichi and Beelzebub are regularly done by Keishou. Toriko is done by kewl's site, know where One Piece is (as well as the other two but who gives a crap about them). Top priority is Negima (maaaaaaaaaajoooooor priority) pretty much. The rest are smaller more obscure series which will make it hard to keep track off as I relied on browsing sites to remind me on any series I've been reading-_-
Who knows, but now they have the […] in that page.
What KzTxL7 said was the reason, though.
That's about the gist of it…
Well crap…That sucks! I had a lot of manga I read on there that I can't find anywhere else. Ugh!
Wow Fire Fist...you're going to back up everything! I would love you til my dying day...seriously. Especially if you put it on rapidshare or MU.
And what a fine forum that is. :getlost:
Well put.
Personally I'm pretty happy about this site specifically being shut down. If Mangastream or a smaller website that provides One Piece went down I may be a little more upset. With One Manga, they had chapters up that were readily available for print. So now when I want to research things, I can go to my actual books instead of online. Now the negative side is that there's no legal alternative. For example: FUNimation has a right to take down fansubbers (they don't do that too often) because One Piece Official is a readily available alternative in the U.S. VIZ on the other hand I have more of a problem with because there's no simul-mangacast, or even a semi-simul-mangacast. Maybe one day, and on that day I'd be happy to see all these sites go away. At least Mangastream is trying to stay out of FUNis way by only having four chapters up at a time. It does make a difference.
It's all findable….I wonder why AP doesn't have a section where we can just request manga from other members, that'd be pretty neat.

haha i remember. those days were pretty badass actually
@Ferno:
My initial reaction to the news:
Me too, then I remembered a thing…
meh, I never used OneManga anyways.
So for me it doesn't really matter.
Though there was a series that I read there with more than 100 chapters. Each with 50~ pages. So I'll keep my reaction for it until I find another place to read that series.
I'll always remember One-Magna for such things as spawning AGOG, have that chpater when Kuma and Doflamingo are introduced with horrible mistranslation after minstranslation and the BB VS Ace fight, where they gave Blackbeard a Scottish accent for some reason.
Feel like dancing my happy dance right now.
Well the 3 separate threads of this have all merged into 1.
Just use mangaupdates, guys. It doesn't host the manga, just links to where to get it. As for older manga where the site's not around anymore, use mangatraders. You just put things on our reading list and regardless of what site it's uploaded it'll show up on their releases list.
http://www.mangaupdates.com/
OneManga was terrible. They severely lowered the resolution and quality of all the manga they had and almost always had the absolute worst versions set there permanently. Even after HQ versions came out. We're better off.
Well the 3 separate threads of this have all merged into 1.
Good idea. This is big news but it's not that big. Mangastream has been doing a far more quality job since they started up. Even Binktopia was doing better than Franky House and the like. Anyway, all One Manga is is a conglomerate. As The Dude said, we'll just have to scavenge a tiny bit more.
This is sad. I mean ardent manga readers already have a set of other websites to read manga from, but introducing manga to new readers is going to be harder now. It's easy to hook someone up with free content. Telling people to buy an obscure hobby item is far more difficult (manga would be considered obscure by its exorbitant prices, if it cost $2.50 per magazine and $5 per volume, life as a manga fan would be much better).
Damn, currently downloading my fav series like crazy =_=
I'm glad that I made a start with downloading when Raw-Paradise closed down.
The Problem is not the fall of Onemanga.
If i wanted a scan of one of the big 3, there were always faster and higher quality site, like mangastream.
But Onemanga was easy to navigate and had an acceptable amount of advertisment.
And the most important thing, it had a wide varity of mangas.
It will be a pain in the ass to find another site with such high standards.
But thats not the reason iam troubled about this matter. If they are finished with Onemanga and the rest of the big sites, who know where they will look into next.
I dont want to say Arlong Park is next in the line, but the direction this is going doesnt look good.

Errr.. Why would they target us? We are just a internet forum discussing about the illegal mangascans, not exactly sharing them, atleast yet that is. They have absolutely no reason at all to attack this community.
@Zach:

I actually brought up in my older post that Viz IS doing this with Rumiko Takahashi's Rin-ne where they are releasing the manga chapters on a weekly basis keeping up with the Japanese release. It's not Shonen Jump but since they own the English rights to One Piece it could be a possibility they would do this. The only problem is if not done correctly it could hurt the sales of their monthly Shonen Jump magazine. Rin-ne, for example, always takes down the older chapters once the volume is put into print. Point is Viz has been doing this with this and few other series, in the Shonen Sunday label, for a year now and it's very possible they could expand to Shonen Jump material as well.
O-chan

After I read that, I had to look up that chapter on OneManga. I lol'd
Donquixote Doflamingo = Tanjiado Lofulamingo
Bartholomew Kuma = Bisoromi Bear
Sengoku = Zango
Marshall D. Teach = Masuru D. Chocheh
Van Auger = Cloud Ouga
Jesus Burgess = Xusasu Basasu
Seriously WTF
Any other sites where I can read JoJo's Bizarre Adventure?
Good riddance to rubbish.
This kills me because I can't read both One Piece and Dengeki Daisy anymore :C
Google -> "manga online"
Hot damn, sons, this bitch be still alive!

Maybe not the whole forum but the weekly releases and spoilers could be a target.
And i know of other fansites (warhammer) who were threatend with lawsuit.
Its not that the company has the right or gets the right in court. But if you run a fansite and get sued for XXX.000 amount of money. Do you take the risk?
Those fans and discussion sites went down, even when they didnt do anything wrong. They just were afraid of the huge sums in the lawsuit.
That works not only in US, it also works in germany that way. Just threat someone with a costly lawsuit and he will close his page. Because if you loose, you are screwed for the rest of your life.
Theres a german proverb:
"Vor Gericht und auf hoher See, bist du in Gottes Hand."
translation
"One is solely in God's hands before the court and on the high seas!"
I dont want to spread panic, i myself dont think Arlong park is a target atm.
But i watch the direction things go carefully and this step with OM is the first step in the wrong direction, maybe more will follow.

I second that! how in the hell does that happen??
and even though it was really convenient (if crappy at times), I don't think the fall of onemanga will stop the fans.
Directly attacking a fan board that at most just makes the newest chapter/episode publicaly spread without any form of chapter database seems like a waste of time.
I can't say I'm completely surprised…but I'm disappointed all the same.

Companies have wasted lots of time "stopping" "piracy" before
