S](http://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/hong-kong-phooey-movie-20510/)orry Eddie Murphey, I doubt you can really pull off a good Scatman Crothers, since you sound exactly the same in every character role you've ever done.
Besides, do we really need B-list characters as movies now? What's next, Fangface? Jabberjaw?
Not to diss Hong Kong Phooey, I actually liked that show.
I….I thought this was the Yogi Bear topic :(
Also Murphy ? Realy ? Why are people still trying to revive his career ?

@Bill:
I can't remember a good movie(post-dream girls) that Eddie Murphy has been in. Its pretty sad Murphy's career has ended up like this, now there's no turning back for him.
He still hasn't redeemed himself from Norbit, and most likely never will.
I saw Norbit couple of months ago, as well as Meet Dave. The second was better, but still kinda stale, and the first suffered from the plot being too clichéd and yet far too cryptic. For example, why does Rasputia even lie to Norbit that she's pregnant to prevent him from leaving her, when several hours later she completely forgets it, reveals it as a lie and publicly belittles and humiliates him again. And why he doesn't leave her after she farts and calls it his baby is still beyond me.

@CosmicDebris:
Well, I'd say Tower Heist might be a slight step in the right direction http://www.dailyactor.com/2011/07/trailer-tower-heist-starring-ben-stiller-eddie-murphy-casey-affleck-matthew-broderick-michael-pena-gabourey-sidibe/ Looks like a fun cast, at least.
But anyway….I don't see how HKP has a big enough recognition factor to warrant a movie. He's no Yogi Bear, even though he's a lot more fun as a character.
Honestly wasn't Yogi Bear pretty much completely forgotten by popculture and the media until the movie ?

@Monkey:
lol bring on the Jabber Jaw movie, that would be an awesome disaster,
Prety soon HB is gonna run into a big problem though.
It's it's self-plagiarism.
In the 70's Hanna Barbera believed that if one formula was successful, all they had to do was just slightly alter the cast, change the mascot, use most of the same voice cast, rewrite some old scripts and they could release another three or four shows.
Literaly, 80 % of all shows HB made are obscure as hell rip offs of their far more sucessful shows.
And then you have crap like Shirt Tales. I recently watched another segment, and it's realy ungodly dumb. Summary of the plot: "Hey, let's go on a vacation into this completely abandoned and untenated town with no law enforcement or any kind of help within miles, so that if any of the old buildings colapse on us, we can all die !" and "Imma gold digger who wants ta scare these cheap marketing ploys away so I can look for me gold mine, here my mutley-infridging hound, put on this bedsheet, we must be as laughable fake as possible !".
