I'm surprised Robert Rodriguez wanted to direct, then I remembered the Spy Kids movies. Apparently it's slanted for a 2010 release.
Try "Slated".
for all we know a Smurfs live action might gonna come out next
A Smurfs movie is coming out though it will most likely be entirely CGI.

Awwww you sunk my Battleship.
That might well be the creepiest thing ever created.
Uh…..
I dont have really anything to say about this..
CGI is always a little weird at times...
The previous image we had seen was much more cartoonier looking. That is just creepy.
After Avatar, I think I'll pass. Looks like a horror genre though,
Why is tonight so funny?!

I don't know what you're talking about. Is it sadness a movie's being made ?
Because as an avid childhood loverr of teh Smurfs, it looks like a very accurate 3D rendering.
… Well I can finally get my friend to know what smurfs are...

I think theres a CGI care bears film out there.. only it was made to DVD only
Bwahahaha.
By the gollies, that's too awful for language to describe.
How about uhrm hurm hurm…CG Gargoyles?
That could be pretty awesome, actually.
What part of my childhood hasn't been turned into a bad cgi movie yet?
Oh, lots. We haven't seen CGI versions of Bravestarr, Cartoon All-Stars To the Rescue, and Aquaman's favorite show, Jem, yet.
I don't know what any of those shows are…

I wasn't a child when Gargoyles came out… <.<

Cartoon-All-Stars doesn't count….that's just a bad PSA that included a mish-mosh of famous characters.
I don't think Bravestarr was big enough...BUT...I have heard there was a live-action He-man in the works at some point.
I'd be all for a new Jem if it made fun of itself.

…you mean this?
No, that's the original one from the 80s. There was supposedly a new one in the works and talks of John Woo directing it. But that was canceled. I did find this though http://hemanfans.com/official/ha-man-2009-movie-canceled-a-2011-movie-announced/
Creepy? I've seen stuff far more creepier then that.
You've stoked my curiosity joekido, do follow up on your claim.

Cosmic - Thundercats and Silverhawks?
The Thundercats movie is in development hell from what I hear.
Of course it is, it'll be a live action movie about furries. I think they realized half-way in that that wasn't a good idea.
The saddest thing about the Smurfs: considering they are based on Belgian comics, it has the potential to being authentic and possibly even good…but they probably rather base it on the Hanna-Barbera animated series...meaning it will most likely suck.
Then again, the only animated Smurf cartoons that I loved were the Belgian cartoons they made in the late 60s I actually saw when I was in Brussels for a day. Very authentic and had a really jazzy soundtrack.

It didn't hurt James Cameron any.
Of course, Cameron could probably slap his name on ten hours of paint drying and people would still go see it.
The Thundercats movie has already been released. Orginally called ThunderCats: Blue Thunder, it was reworked significantly and given the nave Avatar.
Hah I used to watch smurfs as a kid, as it is originally of Belgian origin, never liked it much but I am still looking forward to the movie. That CGI smurf looks decent enough.
And a Thundercats movie I could get a bit excited for, for nostalgia reasons, but really, I said "could" because it is just going to be beyond horrible to watch.

Ah nostalgia the good old times when I was still a carefree child. Yeah the smurfs was one of my favourite cartoons. I never watched the series you are talking about so I can't compare.

What's with the belgian-hate wintergt?
Belgian comic-industry produced some great stuff: Tintin, Suske&Wiske, Lucky Luke, … and more recent: XIII , Largo Winch,...

I don't think those Belgian cartoons were ever released in the States. As I said, I first saw them at the comic museum in Brussels and were made way back in the 60s as essentially animated versions of the Peyo comics. All we got here were the "Magic Flute" movie (which I don't remember too much about but I think was also rather authentic and close to the first Pee-Wee story with the Smurfs from what I've read) and the Hanna-Barbera series.

I think you misread my post, I am from Belgium, and I have all those comics you are listing :) Oh and you should add Rode Ridder and Jommeke.
(the "as it is from Belgian origin" refers to the part that I watched the show, I mentionned that because I didn't think that the smurfs cartoon was released globally - come to think of it, it probably was, just not the comics?)

They would also cry to it.

EDIT: link isnt working
You could just tell us who it is, you know, along with linking.
Anyway, Jonathan Winters. Let's hope his performance here is better than the one he gave us in The Thief and the Cobbler.
Link works for me. Jonathon Winters. No clue who he is.
Jonathan Winters? He's still alive? Huh.
is he okay???
could be everyone in my book:ninja:
