Lesson learned: Never trust Roy to keep an eye on things.
-
-
Man you guys really want to spoil them :D.
-
-
You guys are being REALLY obvious, actually.
Messed up.
-
Okay, that's enough guys. Please? :<
(I keep up with current releases myself, but still)
-
Fine, He'll see the truth eventually anyway.

Like Roy. (last one I promise.)

I'm surprised anybody's even careful about spoilers on here. Considering this is a forum that couldn't care less about spoiling every little detail of the One Piece manga to anybody that chose just to watch the anime I don't really understand. Especially not in this topic which was actually here to discuss the manga for the longest time after the original FMA anime ended. I'd have to assume that the vast majority of the FMA fans here would have went to the manga for the storyline anyway. Because for the longest time it didn't look like an better anime adaptation was going to be made.
Anyway the new Brotherhood episode was EPIC. In fact I felt it was more intense than the original manga chapter was. I especially loved how serious Roy Mustang was, and how when Envy tried to pull his Hughes transformation Roy did not let down on his attacking at all. Awesome animation and a very well done episode altogether. In fact it's the most enthusiastic I've been about an FMA Brotherhood episode in a loooonnnggg time.

When FMA Brotherhood started, for a while I was only up to date with the anime because I took the chance to start with FMA when Brotherhood came. Until chapter 60 or so I only read the manga as far as the anime covered it but in the end I couldn't hold back anymore :D
Maybe spoiler rules are not enforced in the One Piece anime section because there aren't many staff members active there.

i was warned not to come in here this past week cause people were throwing spoilers around. stop it guys. i wanna come in here. :P

This episode just flew by for me. The lead-in to the ending theme started playing and I was all ''Already?'' While I still think Envy's death-by-friendship-speech was kinda silly, it was good that they added in a bit of the Ishval flashback that they had previously skipped, as well as the meeting of Father and Hohenheim from Vol. 23. Still don't care much for Father's voice, though I suppose
! Daisuke Namikawa will have to take over in the near future.

I wouldn't call it friendship, Envy felt that his lack of hardships was all he had over humans, so he liked to watch them fight and dig themselves further into helpless situations. When he realized that they can overcome their feelings that he had been using since the war, he felt more envious of them than ever.
He also probably hated his original form which is why he constantly changed back into human form, despite the fact that he was much stronger in his original form.
I felt sorry for envy in this episode, while in the manga I felt nothing. Shows how good voice acting can make a character more powerful.
-
ooh. i watched it today. <3
! izume curtis is drawn so well. i think if i were gay, i'd so go for her. she's awesome! i thought at first, when the fist came through the wall, it was edward. i was like whaa. but they're already underground. why is he up here now. and oh wow. bradley's back. eep. what's gonna happen next? (don't answer that for me)
-
This episode was as manly as it gets. And starting with it, it will only get better.
Though pacing was a bit strange - whole chapter 96 and pages 15-25 of chapter 97.
I guess, they want to give some nice spotlight for Hohenheim later on.
-
so if this episode was chapter 96, what episode is the manga up to currently?
-
Last manga chapter was 106.
-
And 107 is awaited in a week's time. Or even earlier, due to the Golden Week.
And God, it has some answers to show.
-
I was like "Aww Yeah".
Then wrath showed up and I like "Aww SHIT."
Too much popcorn will be eaten next episode.
-
This week's episode was ridiculously manly. I love how Armstrong and Sig didn't even exchange a single word between them, just went right to it. Next week's gonna be great too.
-
That was some good shit, though I found it weird that Armstrong didn't recognize Sig (in the Manga, he immediately recognizes him as his "Muscle-bound friend"). Next up is the
! Wrath vs. Greed battle. Shit's gonna hit the fan, soon. Hopefully the spoilers for the Manga chapter will be here soon.
-
Was it said somewhere that there were only 2 chapters left? If so, 108 is a very nice number to end with.
-
i hope the story concludes nicely.
i always like a bit of "what they're doing now" at the end of my stories.

Without spoiling anything, you may be in for a bit of disappointment.
-
i kinda figured. we'll see. might still be good
-
Happy end is cancelled.
At least, part of me hopes it is.
! Al's body sure knows how to be mysterious about conclusion things.
The other part of me isn't against happy end, however. -
Re-watching the episode, I noticed how tacky the "dragons" that Hohenheim sent against Father were. Now we know where Ed gets his horrible design sense from.
-
Creative side of awesome comes from the father in this family.
-
I need to catch up with this anime. I stopped at around 46 I believe.
-
Alex and Sig teaming up to take down Sloth was manly as fuck! I'm sure Whitebeard and Kenshiro would be proud of them. Also for some reason, I was surprised to see Sloth bite the dust (lame pun intended) only a week after Envy. Then again, that's to be expected when the chapters are only released once a month. It makes things feel like they happened longer ago than they actually did.
-
Alex and Sig are in the manliest men in manga club, wich Kenshiro and WB are both in. I'm pretty convinced Whitebeard is the ultimate manly man in manga though.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood director Yasuhiro Irie has confirmed on his Twitter account on Thursday that original manga creator Hiromu Arakawa has planned out the final manga installment, and that his staff is writing and storyboarding the material for the anime based that ending. He added that he was shocked by the enormity of the final chapter and noted there are only two months left.

So, the final chapter is going to be incredibly long? Sounds cool. Should be a good ride.
Or maybe not, given what 108 symbolizes in Japan.
-
….why? what does 108 stand for?
-
Death. You'll see the motif pop up in anime every now and then. Death Note, for instance, had exactly one-hundred and eight chapters as well, not counting the one-shots. Also, Urouge's bounty in One Piece is 108 million berries.
-
i no like ):
-
Death is also 42. Shi-Ni. Also, 564 Ko-Ro-Shi means murder.
-
Happy end is cancelled.
I so love how that sounds.
@Fire Fist:
Death is also 42. Shi-Ni. Also, 564 Ko-Ro-Shi means murder.
Everybody probably knows, but in Soul Eater, Shinigami's calling number is just like that, death-death-murder.

Does this count as a spoiler?
-
This is all speculation. Just because it ends on chapter 108 doesn't necessarily indicate a tragic or sad ending.

And after that comes an extremly short chapter where you see everyone singing and dancing
I like tragic endings tho, could imagine not all bros making it. Classic chinese style.
-
Wow, at this rate they'll probably finish the last episode just a few days before it's aired.
Hopefully they won't need to skip too much stuff.. -
damn it. you guys are all gonna spoil me. >< lol
-
So the series is ending with the next chapter? ;-;
-
Does Brotherhood follow the manga?
-
Yep. It does speed through the material the first anime already covered, though.
-
Then why are manga fans bemoaning the anime?
-
The first twelve or so episodes are kind of rushed, since the first show already covered that material.
Aside from that, there really aren't any valid complaints about it.
-
What happened to the comedy?
