Thanks Lutzu!
! Hahaha mini-yupi is awesome!
-
Read the spoilers on NF.
Godammit amnesia?
Sounds like a good chapter otherwise.
-
! well since I can't read the raw i'll just say this for now: Yay! shau got rib punched!
-
! I expected a power up and optionnal wings.
but it seems like meruem has amnesia as SSM said.
So judging from the RAW pufu tries to get back his memory by showing him komugi's face, but how the guys here will manage to face pufu, yupi, and te king ? disturbing… -

Ohoooo so it seems my prediction from last month was right.
Let's wait for a translation to see what the implications are.

Chapter's up
http://www.onemanga.com/Hunter_X_Hunter/301/
Seems pretty good, with Pouf trying once again to disobey the king in what he considers to be the king's best interests.
-
So…
That orgy chapter WAS pretty much a waste.
Meh to the developments, I'd rather the King either died or went cannibal crazy. I guess I'll wait to see the results before passing judgment.
-
Interesting. The king not only regenerated his limbs, but he also grew wings.
As far as strength goes, the hunters are totally screwed. The arc nearly has to come down to a psychological conclusion at this point. Good chapter.
-
Does anyone else think that Yupi now looks like Mini-Enel minus the long earlobes (or ears for that matter)?

lol didn't notice until you said so nice find
-
It's out at mangastream for those of you who don't like one manga
-
Great chapter, like usual.
Yeah, at this point, I'm confident that the King is going to turn into a good guy. Knuckle and the rest just need to give him a glimpse of Komugi and I think he'll gain his memories back.
I'd definitely like to see Pufu attack Knuckle, screaming "Where's Komugi?," only for the King to show up a few minutes later, and learn from Knuckle that Pufu wants to kill her. Then we just need to see the King kill Pufu.
At this point, the only ant that NEEDS to die is Pufu and maybe Pitou.
-
I like to use this pic for Facepalm situations….

much better chapter than last week…pouf`s master plan will sure goes backwards on him:happy:
-
is that little thing that takes all of someones energy stuck to the king?
-
is that little thing that takes all of someones energy stuck to the king?
No, to yupi i think
-
No, it's on Pufu.
Knuckle hit his bunshin, but I guess Potclean went to the little chibi-Pufu since that one's the "real" him.
-
Decent chapter, liked the plot development. Not that big a fan of the memory loss and huge power up. I wonder how this will end; who will be able to stop the king if need be?

well its obvious isn't it? i mean the old guy just sacrifised himself to kill cell. but cell didn't die but instead became perfect cell. so now the old guys son is going to have ot kill him.
so we wait till his son shows up. hopefully he had kids, or were screwed
-
I guess I'm ok with the memory loss, I certainly didn't see that coming. I mean at this point, something like this had to happen, there is isn't anyone left to take on the king and not if he has gotten stronger. Of course the first thing Pufu does if decide to kill Komugi lol. I can't even imagine what happens now. The only thing I could think of is that The king kills Komugi and then remembers her afterward and commits suicide.
-
OR option C the king gets hit with hakowear and then knuckle disappears with leorion (or however you spell it)
-
good chapter, like where this is going.
-
So you've just listed up some (for a manga) relatively deep philosophical points of view, and then ask how this manga is so popular? It's rarely the mindless shounen cliché, and actually gives an interesting look on every aspect of whatever 'evil' encountered. It tried to deviate from the norm and succeeded at that, and that is why it's popular and, dare I say, far above average if not one of the best.
I think you mistake contrived story line for deep. Now if you want to assume bleach is standard shounen then yes in comparison it is not mindless. However, If you want a story with deep philosophical points you will fall way short. The series had an interest concept when it started but again after greed island it lost all semblance of cohesion. I can only justify hunters continued fandom as those that came in early and have become pot committed so to speak, see bleach and in some cases naruto. Because again I will admit the series started out good when the story had a focus instead of the pseudo philosophical or random jumble it turned into. Maybe the thousands of breaks the series takes is actually the worlds best marketing plot as it makes the fandom anxious for its return instead of realizing how crappy the series became.

I do not understand this need to see the king become a "good" guy, for me he already is a good guy.
Even Netero had doubts about fighting the king before the fight started, but had to remind himself that "the decision" was already taken.http://www.onemanga.com/Hunter_X_Hunter/288/10/
The only ant I see as "bad" is pufu, because of his fundamentalism.
This is a manga were we have a mass-murdering group (ryodan), being depicted as good guys, so …..
-
Mugiwara, just a couple chapters ago, the King said he'd force all humans in ghettos, only eating the best of the human race. No idea why anyone would consider that sort of holocaust an act of a good guy.
-
With these two panels, Pufu's fate is sealed.
I thought he was in the clear for a minute there, but now… yeah. He's headed straight towards a face-stabbing.
-

Your sig shows you're a fan of Hancock joining the crew, no wonder you have stupid opinions like this about HxH :getlost:… HxH IS cohesive, and not "pseudo" anything. You want incohesive and psuedo psychological with pseudo deep themes go read Naruto as it's so terribad it's actually a good example of what you're incorrectly claiming HxH is. Comparing HxH to Bleach and Naruto further demonstrates that you have no taste whatsoever and all arguments from you should be ignored and viewed as the ignorant blatherings they are. If I had to guess, your real problem w/ HxH is its sometimes bad art in the weekly serialization and you're grasping at straws to sound better:getlost:. Now, I'll admit that the flaw of the ant arc is that it's getting to be too long, but there hasn't really been a bad chapter per se (there was the awkward orgasming chapter, but it wasn't truly bad imo, just really weird, you want bad go read the new Bleach chapter w/ "I planned EVERYTHING") and so the continued quality makes the lengthiness excusable.
-
HxH is certainly not "pseudo" anything. When it uses illusions, much like in Reborn it makes them awesome but not broken. It actually has character development, it relies on the connections of the various team members. Before anyone starts arguing that this is because Gon needed protecting, Gon on his own for his age is incredibly strong.
I'm actually enjoying the ant arc, just like the recent OP arc it has incredible emotional impact. None of this stupid "glare at people" thing going on in Bleach, or the almost homo-eroticism in Naruto (Im bisexual btw so anyone who wants to say im gay-bashing is negated by default) with Sasuke and Naruto.
-
To be fair, the series has plenty of homo-eroticism whenever Hisoka's around.
…even though the only person he's ever actually expressed interest in boning is Machi. >_>;;
And then there's the chapter from a few weeks ago, which was kind of out there…
-
Am I the only person who thinks that the amnesia was a Togashi short term solution to give the king a motive for finishing Pufu via Komugi?
-
Yeah but Hisoka is good at that, and I swear he does it half the time just to creep people out :p. Just as I was reading your first line there Zenigame, I was thinking of Hisoka's connection to Machi!
Kilua's connection with Gon is the power of brotherly love and nothing else, this won't change no matter how much fangirls and boys scream haha.
-

Eh. He's been a hair's breadth from killing the insane butterfly for a looong time now.
Not to mention the difference between him and the other guards… Yupi's cool with whatever, and Pitou is concerned for the King's safety. On the other hand, Pufu's the only one with an actual opinion as to what the king should be doing, and has been trying to nudge him in that direction.
Of course, the King only does what he wants, and it's only a matter of time before Pufu oversteps his boundaries… which seems to be right now.

Well, yeah. There's no doubt as to whether or not he enjoys being a total creep. :p

No argument there.

This is another element from HxH that Kishi tried to implement in Naruto but failed at it.
-
Naruto is good in it's own right, it just has no justification to being compared to say FMA, OP or HXH. Of course this depends also on if the anime is taken into account. HxH has practically no filer, Naruto has and it is some of the worst filler I have ever seen. Having said that my own point there can be refuted since Dragonball arguably had the worst filler with Garlic Jr.
Kishimoto takes the brotherly love thing too far, it is almost as if all Naruto cares about is Sasuke. In HxH on the other hand I get the feeling that Gon cares about all his nakama including more recent ones such as Knuckle, Shoot or Morau.
And Zenigame, I agree with you on Hisoka lol. That doesn't stop me being attracted to the character :p

I'm not saying Naruto is bad (I actually one of the few people that can still tolerate Naruto despite it having poor execution lately), it just something I noticed when I was thinking about people saying Kishi copy/use some of the element in HxH into Naruto. For some reason I always thought one of the reason Naruto hasn't been as good as it was back then because HxH went into multiple hiatuses and Kishi lose his main influences on writing his own series.

Heh it's interesting to note that YuYu Hakusho also has no filler if I remember it correctly. I never watched Naruto anime except for few episode in random order. I'm more of a manga person and Naruto actually one of the manga I collected. Not really regretting collecting it because there's actually some development going on in each volume (I actually don't mind Pein saga despite everyone make a fuss about it). Never really watched Dragon Ball/Z because back then I was reading the manga instead. Along with some other 80's-90's manga. Makes me realized how over hyped Dragon Ball is back then because I never really interested in the event that's happening in Dragon Ball.
-
Nothing is purely original, at best if Naruto did copy HxH it shows how awesome and original HxH is by being able to be copied. HxH without hiatus would be further in chapters than Naruto anyway.
The naruto anime pre-filler, the first 6 seasons is the REASON I love Naruto no matter what. Some of the fights are legendary, especially Oro vs Sarutobi or the Sannin battle.
I wouldn't say Dragonball is overhyped. You can sometimes tell if a series is good if it inspires dozens of great series.

Yep it's not like Naruto doesn't go batshit when Gaara or Sakura is hurt. ohh wait

Sasuke vs Oro in forest of death and drunken Lee was my favorites. DBZ influenced them all anyways.
-
Yup and in turn DB was infleunced by Hong Kong action films in part, I never really found a direct manga influence Toriyama cited, it seemed to be mostly Hong Kong action films, which in themselves are pretty awesome!
Lee vs Kimimaro was just pure awesomeness, but I love the whole sound 5 arc anyway. THAT is Naruto at it's best, with a few fights and bits of story as good elsewhere. But this is the HxH thread lol. I love Togashi's imagination when it comes to nen weaponry. Hisoka's nen gum/card combo and Kilua's nen darts particularly come to mind!

Killua yoyo is my fav. Do you guys think Gon will have to fight Killua in the future because of his family. His father doesn't look like he will just let him go.
-
Kilua's yoyo is amazing, it's even better actually getting to use it on Jump Superstars on the DS. I don't think there is any need for Gon and Kilua to fight, unless it was a friendly rival match or something like that. Kilua might have a fight with his epic dad at some point though.
-

There are so many things I wanted to say about Dragon Ball and its 'influences' but alas, this is Hunter x Hunter thread.
Do you guys think Gon will have to fight Killua in the future because of his family. His father doesn't look like he will just let him go.
Unless Togashi forgot about this, but Killua said he's going to leave Gon.
[hide][/hide]
Not sure whether he's going to do it or not but I feel like Togashi still foreshadowing and developing this from time to time but maybe that's just my own interpretation. -
I think it's part of Kilua's battle with his inner self to follow the path set aside by his family or go his own way. A nice subplot.
