Not realy by advertisement. That's.. partialy true I guess, I could watch anything in the world and when I get the chance I only go watch a random chapter of a random Anime, Lost, House, or a Disney/Pixar movie, the things that I grew up confortable with. I don't go out of my confort zone without recomendations or if it is something that caugth my attention, and first impressions were good.

So, instead of making myself look like an ingorant fool, recomend me something.

I was playing recently Beyond good and Evil, it has very interesting gameplay elements and characterization, but.. I hate the Hover-thingie dungeon level, zillion mines, dock in an almost invisible dock, fight a random battle, rinse and repeat, I grew bored of that one.

Its almost entirely dialouge free, except for the theme song so… it doesn't even matter that its French. But its pretty awesome all the same.

Folks, Karin doesn't get any respect oints for realizing now Sasuke was a douche. She fell for his "hotness", just like Sakura, Ino, and TenTen before them, but she ACTUALLY followed him around for massive lengths of time and helped heal him on multiple occassions, otherwise he would now be dead many times over. Hinata is the one to be applauded for never liking his ass at all. Maybe TenTen, or Temari, for never once arguing with another girl over trying to win Sasuke.

Also, as of last chapter, Karin is clearly a man, given her lack of breasts.

Besides, in three chapters Kishi will have forgotten what he wrote this chapter, as he often seems to do, and Karin will be confessing her love to Sasuke again, in a transparent attempt to try and stab Sasuke in the back.

Ugh.

I remember watching fragments of this in a french comic/animation conference a year ago.

I had to read a french comic about a year ago and make a presentation, I chose something called "Anita Bomba".. it was subreal, and interesting, a very weird combination of characters and enviroment.

What was even the point of the eye manipulation jutsu of one of Danzou's men the Yamanaka ninja. None. It was an utter failure.

Will it play an important role in the plot ? None at all. Kishi could have skipped this scene and fast foward to Danzou vs tobi and there will be no difference. _

(i don't post much, i just lurk around and any reference to my country, is a chance to step in :P)

the best i can think of are our old movies, they are black and white but IMO really entertaining if you're open minded about old-fashioned humor. Canção de Lisboa, O Grande Elias, O Leão da Estrela…

and of course you can watch anything brazilian, if you know one, you will understand the other.

I don't know about you, but in school we have to learn english and french (i already passed at the CPE and i can handle french), now I'm a freshman at collegge (just turned 19) and already learned some spanish on my own (not too hard for us) and now I'm learning german from youtube and stuff.

That's the cool stuff about the Latin-derived languages, if you understand the roots and similarities of them, you'll learn them pretty fast, or that's what she said.

Oh pah, naruto é a manga mais famosa e bem sucedida em portugal, toda a gente sabe o que é e tal, safou-se muito melhor que one piece e apesar de nao ser um dragon ball, tem a atençao de muita gente.

For anyone wondering, we are wondering about the popularity of naruto in portugal, and though manga isn't nearly a big hit, Naruto caught the attention of many people, and could be called "the second dragon ball" (the anime had a lot of sucess here)

What I always found weird about portugese was the days of the weeks: primera, segunda, terça, cuarta, quinta, sexta and… domingo.

In spanish the days of the week have cool names derived from the names of the roman gods!!

Lunes by the Luna, the moon,
Martes by Mars
Miercoles by Mercury
Jueves by Jupiter
Viernes by Venus
Sabado by Saturn
Domingo... I don't remember..

Actually with the exception of Monday and Sunday (moon and sun… duh), all the English days of the week come from gods too. Norse gods in fact!
Tuesday -> Tyrsday
Wednesday -> Wodansday (Germanic Odin)
Thursday -> Thorsday
Friday -> Friggsday
Saturday -> Saturnday (the lone Roman god-named day, and iirc there's a story behind why that is...)
I'm a Norse myth nerd so I had to chime in that the English days of the week are pretty cool imo.

We also don't have good taste if Naruto is famous here, and One Piece was cancelled here in the 104th episode, well at least Naruto isn't dubbed in portuguese.

I read a good amount on the internet and a looked up some specific stuff in reference books at the school lib. In all honestly, for starters use google and wikipedia for links to credible places. Wikipedia actually has some good basic information. Most confusing thing is if you manage to find direct translations of the Norse sagas since they like to use kennings, meaning almost anything with a name has like 50 epithets… >.> I could prolly come up with a dozen alternate names for a pencil with kennings... Add to that the fact the Norse sometimes did just that, calling swords stuff like "wound hoes" and direct translations of the sagas get messy.
tl;dr Use teh interwebz for basic stuff and reworded summaries of the sagas but unless you have considerable time and a brain good enough to interpret some of the odder kennings, stay away from directly translated Norse sagas.
PS: What Robby said works too, just don't forget Odin = chief god, and like Zues and most other chief pantheon gods was a player ;P
If you really wanna be disturbed though, Loki's Sleipnir's mom. Shapeshifting awkwardness and bestiality was involved... >.> Edit: wait, would it be bestiality if he was a mare and not a female human? Still disturbing in any case...

Yup, the names have been a bit corrupted by anglicanization or w/e you'd call it, but it's there. I learned Tuesday=Tyrsday last. I mean, the guy's only role was sitting around with his hand in a giant, chained up wolf's mouth until the time of the apocalypse when his hand would get bitten off when the wolf escaped. Tyr's like… the buttmonkey of the Norse pantheon in the end. He stands for some sweet stuff like honor and one-on-one combat, but his main role is losing his hand...

Let's see, Vahalla, Ragnarok, Bifrost, Yggdrasil, and Loki going from trickster to basically the ruler of all evil are about the only things I know of Norse mythos outside of the god names.

I'm Amurcan and I can speak some Spanish, though I've forgotten a lot of it in the last year. I'm taking both French and German currently, I don't like French at all but German's pretty cool. Pretty much all of my college courses are going to be different languages, though .

Dragon sings.

You know, the cute lovable, SILENT dragon 30 times Donkey's size? I'd assumed they'd use a giant puppet to make her head and only allow a little on stage at a time, but no. She sings.

And Donkey sings about her teeth. and tic-tac breath. I'm pretty sure they were cute little improv lines in the actual movie. But here. They are sung.

There's also an extended and lengthy song where 7 year old Fiona does a duet with her teenage and adult selves looking forward to being rescued and is quite clearly going insane.

HOW CAN ONE MUSICAL HAVE THIS MANY BAD SONGS?

Also of note, none of the ACTUAL music in the movie is anywhere near this material, because you know. its copyrighted. And good.
